Recently Rumery, yes, he of the stories and support on the calls with Val, recently landed hard and hurt his right hind quarter. I’ve done some Radiance Reiki healing which has helped – I felt some realigning – but he seems to be in more pain again. It may be sprain that he forgets about as it heals and then get too aggressive and re-injures it. He also seems to have trouble with his too long nails getting caught in blankets but is too tender to trim his nails. (We had an unsuccessful experience with one of those ‘special’ nail clippers so trimming has been a non-starter of late. Suggestions appreciated for that as well.)
Note: Rumery came to make sure I was posting this request after I had asked his permission to ask you his delightful students, er, members.
We’d both appreciate your help with this.

Hello Barb,
I’ve just connected with Rumery and got the feeling that he didn’t really want to be touched, he wanted to sit and watch from a safe distance.
He showed me a cork (not cardboard) scratching post that he would like and I see accupuncture needles along his back and hips. I think he is saying this is what he needs rather than this is what he has had…but I’m not sure.
I get he is feeling grumpy with the pain. I can’t understand if he does want extra pain medication or doesn’t want it, I get confusion almost like he wants the benefits of the pain med but not the side effects.
I hope that there is something in this which can help you and Rumery through this.
Yours

Thanks, Louise. He has a short rope post that he has been scratching on lately, I’ll move that to an easier location and look for something corky rather than cardboard.
Yes he does get very specific when he is done receiving Reiki which I give him mostly when he asks for it though occasionally additional times as well and wants it stopped. Sometimes it is too ‘hot’ with direct hands on but remote is more tolerable for him matching with your not wanting to be touched.
Interesting about the acupuncture needles along his back.
The only pain med he’s had was a bit of Rexcue Remedy which I may try again. Thanks for the reminder. Each time I give it to him I explain that we are not going anywhere as he usually gets it right before we start the 300 mile car trip to camp. He seems to relax at that, particularly when I tell him I’m staying home too.
Thank you for checking in with Rumery and offering your helpful suggestions.

Hi Barb,
Thank you so much for your feed back, I understand now the confusion or rather ‘hesitation’ about the pain med now… he wants the medication but not the car ride !
I don’t get clear messages, just feelings so it’s really hard for me not to interpretate them with my human brain LOL
I’ll definitely check in with him again but it’s my bedtime now so I’m off to the land of nod 🙂
Yours
Louise

Hi Barb:
I just asked my healing guides to send him healing goo and then did remote TTOUCHES which turned into figure 8ths. I asked if he wanted to spend time in a healing box and he said yes! and jumped in. I said he can stay however long he wants.
I saw the healing box and it had a soft healing blanket. This idea just popped in: wondering if holding him in a blanket would be helpful to nail cutting process….-

Thank you, Barb. Rumery seems to be feeling much better today thanks for the extra healing. Rumery does love boxes so I’m sure the healing box, especially with a soft healing blanket was really delightful as well as helpful. Even if he has left, I suspet he’ll go back to the healing box if it is still available.
Using a blanket for nail cutting would be helpful. I’ll give it a try once Rumery isn’t so tender. Hopefully he’ll let mimself heal this time before re-injuring himself by felling beterr and therefore leaping into action too soon.

Hi Barb. I tried to connect with Rumery today. Bearing in mind that I am not that accurate at the moment and that I have a very active imagination this is what I wrote down:
Q: Would you be willing to talk to me?
A: Oh wow of course.Q: Are you in pain?
A: Well pain is relative for a cat. We put up with all sorts of things.Q: Did you have a fall?
A: Yes I had a fall. I’m a bit embarrassed about it – it was very clumsy of me.Q: Do you need to see the vet?
A: Oh no! I don’t want to see the vet. I hate vets!. I just want Barb to do what she normally does – to be her usual loving self. I love to be in her presence.Q: Can you recover on your own?
A: Yes. I’m a cat. I am a great self healer. We cats have a marvelous capacity for getting ourselves well. We always know what to do.Q: Is there anything Barb can do for you?
A: Barb can give me more treats and more attention than usual – wink wink – being that I am injured. I would like to be pampered more – wink wink.Q: Do you have problems with you nails?
A: My nails, yes they are a bit of a bore. Really I need to be walking on hard surfaces, but I need to avoid this because of my current injury. Tell Barb not to worry I am fine. I am a cat. Barb is the most wonderful woman. It is my pleasure to be her companion. We are two hearts as one, true soul mates. I am pretty marvelous too. I like to keep Barb amused, lighten things up. I am very mischievous. I know Barb loves me but I like to test her sometimes, but it’s all in fun, she only pretends to be annoyed.Q: Any advice for me and my animal communication?
A: You are getting it. Just try and stay more focused and BELIEVE. You’ve got this and then you can go out and spread the word. Stay strong.I sensed Rumery’s energy to be confident, playful, mischievous and very loving.
I hope this helps. All best wishes. Angela

H Angels, you did a fabulous job! This really sounds like Rumery! And I love the extra insights that hadn’t occurred to me about relative pain for a cat. I told him that people might be reaching out to talk with him which he enjoys. He is quite a character. He and Val have been know to tell each other jokes and they don’t always let me in on it. They have had a special relationship across the miles. Rumery was surprised to meet Val in person. Apparently her telepathic self doesn’t look the same.
Rumery is a great healer. When I am in pain or ill, he often offers me Reiki. And it has been interesting to have him ask me for Reiki of this. And he is very clear when he’s had enough.
Thank you too, Angela for his sweet words about our connection. When he was first hurt I was totally devastated. And I’m glad to hear that I made to correct choice not to take him to the vet. He hasn’t been very often whic seems to be his preference. I’m relieved to hear that.
As for keeping me amused, ABSOLUTELY. When I get on my computer or reading I forget time so he has to come to remind me it is time for meals and sleep. Yes, he is pretty marvelous. Isn’t that cool about cats, they are just honest and don’t play the ‘oh I can’t say that’ games. And yes he does sometimes test me. And other times he protects in ways that I don’t understand. Like the time he hid so we couldn’t leave for our 300 mile drive to camp. Turns out it was too late in the day and I was too tired after packing and loading all day. Once I gave up and said we’d go in the morning, he came out and we had an instant nap. Yep, he was right.
And yes, he is alos right about your getting animal communication, stay more focused, and Believe. Both Rumery and I have gained from your insights and there are others in the world who need you to share your gifts with them too.
Thank you. Barb & Rumery

Rumery continues to feel better. A couple of days ago he demonstrated his sprinting capabilities running hither and yon. Today he crawled under furniture to extract an empty pistachio shell and off they went. The shell makes just enough noise to enhance the chase experience. . And then they, Rumery and the shell, were back beside my desk asking “Did you see what I did?” Yes, I did and am very proud and thankful. So now it is nap time.
Thank you to all for helping us. Rumery Pesky is back!PS Note that Rumery has never had any interest in eating the shell though he is interestd in digging them out of the waste basket.

Hi Barb,
glad that Rumery is doing better.
Just a tip for the nail clipping. I have bags from sturdy textile material. These are made especially for cats. They have an opening for the head to stick out and then a slit with velcro closure for each paw, which can be opened one at a time for clipping nails. I found them in various internet shops for around 15 USD each. They also double as cat carriers, which comes in handy when I have cats, who get aggressive towards the vet.

Thanks Klaudia, I found one bag online and have it in my wishlist to include with my next order. I’m not sure that Rumery will stand, er, put up with being hung from a door handle so this will be quite the adventure and I’ll be glad to reduce the long pointy needles that his claws have bceome.
I’m curious if you use the special clippers that were ‘recommended’ when I looked for more detail on the kitty holder bag. In the past I’ve used simple human nail clippers. IT was when I tried a ‘as seen on television’ product that nail trimming lost its ‘charm’ in Rumery’s eyes.

Hi Barb,
sorry, I had overlooked your reply.
So far I have used “normal” pet claw clippers that work like a guillotine. You stick the claw through the opening and when you push the handle a blade comes down and cuts the nail.
Recently, I bought one of these electric things that have a sandpaper like thing rotating and you push the nail on it. So this is more like a nail file than a clipper. I don’t have extensive experience with that one yet. What I can tell so far is that it seems to be more gentle on the nail (less risk of splintering, no risk of tearing on the nail). On the other hand it makes some noise, which the animals have to get used to. The one I bought is not very noisy, but it still makes a humming sound and the cats do react to sound.-

Thank you, Klaudia!
This is exactly the expertise and caring you can and do share with the world. And hey, I’m on the flip side of the world from you and you are helping me. Isn’t the Universe clever in how it sends us messages. And Rumery will very much appreciate your guidance as will I.
Hugs!Moderator
