We are glad you are interested in practicing talking together with an animal!

To get started, greet the animal and ask if they have time to talk with you. Remember that animals also lead busy lives even though we may not see all that they do. If they aren’t available, check back later.

Introduce yourself and explain why you are reaching out to them: that you are a member of the Animal Talk Coaching & Mastery Club and learning to better communicate with animals and would appreciate their help. You can ask them any questions you want. Typically they do provide a response. Please share your impressions of their personality, energy, how they feel and any insights they may share with you. By sharing what you get, the animal’s person can provide you with feedback and others can jump in too.

Use the Forum SEARCH field (located at the top of the right column above the picture of the Featured Animal Teacher) to find more discussions involving this animal (or other animals with the same name).

Some conversations have been lively, and we’ve learned some amazing insights, and laughed at jokes. Remember that this is a safe place to practice. This is about practice and learning, it is not about getting it perfect. The animals have much to teach us, to share with us and we with them.

January 14, 19 communication practice: impression of energy is light, ethereal, happy, very centered and like eye of the storm. Schneemann says to Allow the swirls to take you into my space … I love the white ocean, I stare at the ocean… I am near the white ocean and I am not afraid… this feels not to be the present but he claims it is; he says, my name means glorious one of the waves and elements and I am a bearer of news of all types.

      Hi Angela

Sorry for my late reply, but I found this post only now.

Your description of his energy feels just right. Schneemann is a very quiet cat. He doesn’t get excited, even when there is a lot of fuss going on around him. He also is very shy and doesn’t come close to me. Not sure what to think about his white ocean talks. Is he preparing to transition? Though, he is still young (just over 3 years) and doesn’t show any signs of disease so far.

The name I gave him means simply snowman. Is he talking about a name he has in the cat world? And what news is he bringing?

So here, I have more questions than confirmations for you, which I find not too astonishing, because Schneemann is so withdrawn and often on his own – somehow like living in his own world.

Thanks for the feedback Claudia. No, the white ocean must just be snow or my imagination! I look forward to tuning in again with your kitties.

      Hi Angela,

In this lifetime Schneemann has not seen any snow. We have lots of rain in winter, but no snow in the coastal areas. There is snow in the mountains (about 1 hour drive from our home), but he has never been there. Maybe he showed you that there are quite a few cats with a mainly white fur living with him in the kennel.

Klaudia, I was drawn to Schneemann because he looks like a cat we had who unfortunately developed a fatal disease there was no treatment for and had to be euthanized. I felt that Schneemann had a lot to teach me and boy, did he!

At first, Schneemann was a little standoffish. He yawned when he saw me and didn’t approach readily but asked me who I was? When I told him I wanted to talk to him, he said, “What for?” I told him I wanted to learn from him and that you said it was okay. He was still wary and asked me, “Mom said it was okay?” When I said yes, he finally came over.

I got a relatively small energy field from him, like he didn’t like to take up too much space. I sensed an orange aura around him. He told me my mind was busy and I apologized, told him I’d worked to quiet it before I met with him. He said, “That’s okay; you’re listening now.” I got the sense he had a lot to say but wouldn’t push it on anyone.

I asked what it was like living with your other cats and he said it was fine. He likes cats; it’s people he’s not so sure about. I told him that was very interesting and asked him to tell me why. He said, “Because people haven’t always been good to me,” but he didn’t want to talk any more about that. I got the impression someone pulled his tail or hurt his tail in some way.

He said that you, Klaudia, are wonderful. You love him as he is and he loves you for that. When I asked if he had any message for you, he said, “Just tell her I’m here for her. I’m a guide and I have wisdom to share.” When I asked him for some of that wisdom, he said, “Love life, eat well, aim high. Follow your dreams–you never know where they will take you.”

I got the impression that he has some weakness in his back where it connects to his legs, like arthritis or something. I asked him if he’d like healing and I offered the Healing Sarcophagus. He said he’d like that because the sarcophagus looked like a box you could hide in. I opened it up and he willingly jumped in. When I closed the top, I could see white light seeping out from the sides. He basked in it for a few moments, then came out and started licking his front right paw. He tells me thank you, he feels better now, and to come again. I was dismissed, ha!

This was one of the more interesting conversations I’ve had with an animal so far. I hope some of it resonates with you. I look forward to your feedback!

      Hi Elizabeth,
I apologize for the late response. I am in the process of decluttering and organizing the house and yard, and the past days I have not even been checking my email.
I think you did very well. One remark before I give you feedback: Schneemann is in spirit since a few years (I think it is time that I update my AT page – by now all the cats I had chosen have transitioned. The last one was Benji about 2 months ago)
I think what you experienced as being standoffish is the shyness he showed all his life. And you are right, he always got on well with the other cats (and even with the dogs), but was wary about people.
The small energy field and the wish not to push his opinion onto others resonate with me. Schneemann always tried to blend in, wanting to be as invisible as possible. He was living with me since he was a young kitten. Someone had disposed of him and his 2 brothers in my yard.
I love his bit of wisdom. That’s how I try to live now that I am fully retired.
I am not aware that Schneemann had problems with his spine or legs. However his immune system was weak, like it is in many animals who are taken away from their mothers at a very young age. That was basically the root of his transitioning, when I had a breakout of flu. All cats got sick. The very weak ones didn’t respond to the treatment.
Thank you for talking with Schneemann.

Hi Klaudia! Hmm…I wonder what the Healing Sarcophagus was all about. Maybe I just made that up? In any case, I really enjoyed talking to your boy and will learn a lot from this experience. I think the only difference from my perspective to him being in spirit is that I might have asked different questions, but I still really got a lot from this experience.

Thank you so much for the feedback and I’m so sorry you lost your boy. I loved his wisdom!

Hi Elizabeth. I believe Schneemann knew you were not aware of his passing and therefore appeared to you in form of his own memories of his lifetime with me. From that point of view also the Healing Sarcophagus makes sense.

I don’t think that we ever really lose a loved one because of death. Yes, we lose the physical form, but we never lose the spirit. I still feel connected to many of the animals who shared my life over the years.
