We are glad you are interested in practicing talking together with an animal!

To get started, greet the animal and ask if they have time to talk with you. Remember that animals also lead busy lives even though we may not see all that they do. If they aren’t available, check back later.

Introduce yourself and explain why you are reaching out to them: that you are a member of the Animal Talk Coaching & Mastery Club and learning to better communicate with animals and would appreciate their help. You can ask them any questions you want. Typically they do provide a response. Please share your impressions of their personality, energy, how they feel and any insights they may share with you. By sharing what you get, the animal’s person can provide you with feedback and others can jump in too.

Some conversations have been lively, and we’ve learned some amazing insights, and laughed at jokes. Remember that this is a safe place to practice. This is about practice and learning, it is not about getting it perfect. The animals have much to teach us, to share with us and we with them. Enjoy!

      Hi Angela,
I’m connecting with Mister Hobbs as I write this. I sensed almost right away that he could be a bit fearful at times and then before even greeting him he confirmed that was true when he was Mister Hobbs. He said he has reincarnated though and has learned he doesn’t need to be as fearful.

I was about to introduce myself and he already knows who I am.

I asked him if he could tell me about his life as Mister Hobbs. He said it was great and that he loved leaves and the snow and cold weather. He liked to eat snow, too.

He also said he had been abused before you got him.

He said he loved pizza, beef, and chicken.

He said he loved to get on the bed and cuddle but would be hesitant without an invitation and sometimes hesitant even with an invitation.

He said he loved to a plush toy that was his and loved to play tug-of-war.

He also said there was an older disabled man or a disabled child he was friends with. The child might have been/be autistic.

He said he would have been a great emotional support service dog.

we closed the conversation and left it at being welcome to talk again. He just licked my nose, too!

Hi Martha, Thank you so much for communication time with Mr. Hobbes! Love that he said he already knew who you were. Yes he absolutely loved snow/cold weather, and sometimes pecked at the snow out of excitement. He absoluetly loved chicken yes! he very likely got some homemade pizza scraps he loved, very rarely beef though.

No, he was never abused at any point in his life. No, he was not a fearful animal, in general.

He was his own man for sure. Yes, hesitant about cuddle time up on the bed. the hesitant energy felt born from his independent spirit, as well as from, his “intuitive/sensitive” nature. sometimes would get up on bed and cuddle and was so very sweet but he was very catlike and required his ample space and freedom. invitation or no invitation, this was only a very happy special treat to be graced with his presence on the bed for petting time.

The tug of war/plush toy would not have been Mister Hobbes 😉 as Mister Hobbes.

I once called Hobbes my service dog to get him on a bus. He was a bit too dedicated to his freedom to be a traditional service dog though! Emotional support service dog, yes! He royally embodied a healthy emotional detachment/freedom. Hobbes was emotionally uplifting and an amazing mystical presence, a master healer. And there was another aspect about hobbes that was being of service…

I can’t think of any sort of disabled friend, adult or child, that he would have been around alot. I’ll ponder that for sure…

Thanks again for connecting with Mister Hobbes in spirit. And sharing this with me. The journey continues.

      MARTHA,

I have insight into your communication with Hobbes regarding a disabled person. I will share about that when I am on my laptop this coming week!

      Hi Angela,
I’m interested in your insight about the disabled person Mister Hobbes mentioned.
Thank you for the feedback, too. You said the tug of war and plush toy would not have been Mister Hobbes as Mister Hobbes. By that do you mean that it was true when he was being like a cat?
He sounds like a wonderful and interesting at times dog!

I think he just sent me a visual of him doing a running-prancing combo. Did he ever do that?

Hi Martha, YES Mr. Hobbes loved to run (and prance), mostly run and run and run. He did not play with toys nor do tug of war at any part of his life, as Mr. Hobbes (as opposed to another lifetime). I have a friend who was paralyzed in a mountain biking crash years ago and he knew hobbes for years before the accident and/but saw him only a couple times afterwards and he died a few years after that. Perhaps Hobbes is present for him now.

A recopy of Susan’s communication with Hobbes. “I also stopped by Mr. Hobbs and decided. Since I do not have any experience with dogs, I would ask him if he would like to talk to me. When I realized that Mr. Hobbes was in Spirit, I was suddenly a bit scared. I was very downcast that day and I was deeply drawn to Him. His being seemed meek and alive at the same time. After the short contact I felt that he is a great tracher, and healer. My mood had turned for the better. This was two days ago.”

Thank you Susan for you connection with Mr. Hobbes. I resonate with what you say about him, being meek and alive at the same time. I too feel him to be a most powerful teacher and healer. I am not surprised that he helped your mood turn for the better and am deeply grateful to hear that! Thank you again…

      Hi Angela

I was drawn to connecting with Mister Hobbs today – not sure how much of this will make sense but I am just going to write it all!

So this first thing he wanted to say after I had connected with him was to tell you he still loves you, is still around you even though you are not feeling/sensing him as much – he is still checking in with you.
Did he used to do any types of tricks with his paws and covering his eyes? It was like he gave me his paw but then put them over his eyes.
Felt like he had a leg issue before he passed on left side – more went into this more it actually felt like more out of balance type thing…left and right side not communicating/working together well, so awkward/stiff movements, out of alignment.
Got the impression he was fond of water/muddy puddles and liked to go in deep and get covered.
He also showed me images of trees and he was watching intently in the branches…perhaps there was a time when he was determined to wait for a cat or squirrel up there and it was hard to move him away?
He says he is ok, having fun still, don’t worry, growing and expanding but still me/your boy.
He also said he was good boy, handsome, seemed to be particularly proud of his white fur on chest (showing me) – not sure if he had unique/unusual markings in that area that people would comment on? Or just that people and he liked to stroke him there?
Did he move around on his back? Shows me on back with all legs up in the air, at first I thought his sleeping position but then very playful, like he had toy in his mouth and he would then wriggle/move across a fair distance of the room like that? Just on his back? Perhaps when young as feels very playful.
He didn’t like having his tail brushed, would move away and got sense maybe it was a bit of a game for him!?
Did he wear scarves or bandannas? Something material (feels bigger than just a collar) and changes, had different colours. Also one with some writing on, seems proud of that one (sense that it was given to him for something in particular).
I then asked if there was anything else to say and I got the TV was ok!? Not sure if you have had few problems or just few things now and then, but if you have had the thought that may be something up he says no, it is just me! (Perhaps his way of saying hi when he is checking in) Mum not so well recently (main reason why he wanted to connect I think) got sense you may have had to take some medication and just been bit low emotionally as well, he just wants to make you smile and remind you he loves you and is still around.
Then I got trees again, this time it was almost like he was hugging one, or perhaps trying to climb one? Unless it was his way of suggesting you go out and do some tree-hugging to help rebalance yourself!?
He is a very cute, lovely playful boy. Then at end he also said that his fur was all ok now, no missing patches, and he mentioned treats and got impression of little cubes of cheese which he seems to be enjoying.
That seemed to be about all, so I thanked him and sent him love and disconnected.
Hope some of this makes sense to you.
      Love and light
      Anita x

      Hi Anita,

Due to internet outage in our town today, I am unable to type on laptop (with two hands)as I planned today! (On iPhone) I am usually quite quick with my responses and value that from other members. I look forward to responded to your post about Hobbes.

Hi Anita. Love to hear Hobbes is still tuning in with me yes. I have been tuning in quite a bit lately actually, as he has been showing up during my animal communications. He covered his eyes with his paws alot, which was so very cute and appeared playful. Generally though, he was just scratching his eyes etc. Sounds like he was playing with you though, in regards to the comment about paws over eyes. Yes correct about imbalance in hips and pain etc, before his crossing over. In regards to mud/water, I can picture him covered in mud, no so much from intentionally playing in the mud, as he wasn’t big on that, BUT he definitely got covered while “playing” with me in the outdoors, on bike rides and hikes. AND during one stretch of our journey together, we would regularly swim across part of a Lake and hike on the other side, and back. Muddy beach at times. He actually didn’t like to swim at all, and wouldn’t get in on his own, BUT, he loved to join me on adventures and I helped him adjust and get in the water and swim across with me. We were outside all the time, so yes to trees and squirrels and my cats in trees! He was so very handsome and beautiful and truly very unique being, not like any dog I had ever known. Beautiful white and reddish brown fur; people often commented on his beauty, as well as, his character. He was not into people petting his chest or affection of any kind, accept maybe his ears. With me and Linus and (more to the story but I’ll leave it at that in case you tune in) he was very receptive to affection at certain moments, and always affectionate with his spirit. He was not into toys, no. And would not roll around for the purpose of being pet, definitely not. BUT I think you were spot on with your initial intuition!…When he was a puppy, he slept on his back with his paws up on the wall, and I imagine there were moments of play in that. No he didn’t like having his tail stroked. Ask him about that and see what you get!? That would be something great to focus on if you feel like tuning in with him again and practicing! He had a bandana around his neck at one point. There was a special meaning there … Ask him about this too! I can’t remember writing on it, so I am asking Linus (Hobbes “dad”) if he remembers. I think the TV was just you yes ha ha; we didn’t have TV. Ask him about his home (s) if you like! I don’t take medications or anything like that. I passed through some phases of disconnect, which I alchemized (with energy, not meds), and thanks sharing about his love and support. Tree hugging is an everyday thing for me; I live in the wilderness, so yes, always more of that. So makes sense that he would send an image of me doing that. His fur was always fine; Linus and I had lots of fun grooming Hobbes. Ask him about that if you like! He LOVED cheese more than most!! Thanks so much for tuning in and go back and ask about those topics I mentioned if you feel called and I can give feedback!

Thanks for the detailed feedback…sounds like he had an amazing life with you guys…he was great to connect with and I can see why it was him that called to me to be my first for on here..as when I was preparing then got ready to invite him in he was right there with I am already here! (I am sure sometimes theu must think we are so dense 🙂 but in a loving way!) And I was oh yes…wow this one knows what he is doing :-).
Thank you for suggestions of what to cover and permission to chat with him again…that will be good. Many thanks and blessings to you and Mister Hobbs x

      Hello Angela

I was drawn to speak to Mr Hobbs. I asked if we could speak and he was happy to! I am new to this so trying my best. I got that he is gentle, wise, funny, sweet, kind, happy—he was and still is so happy, he is loved and around you stil and he feels free now that he has passed. I feel he had some pain in hips at the end. He is really a sweet soul. Thank you for letting me communicate with him.

      Angela
