Posting early since you did not get to this issue during the March call.

Val, please check in with Roxy. He has been diagnosed with a bladder stone as well as a bladder infection. On Feb 26 was on an antibiotic, pain medication, and a prescription Royal Canin diet to dissolve the stone. Both prescriptions were completed and he is only on the prescription food.

He will have had a recheck with his regular vet on March 29 to see if the food is working to dissolve the stone. This was copied from last month so by this month he will have had that check.

He was using the agreed-upon signal of peeing in the bathtub as a call for help. Pee has contained blood and something thick but not sharp that may be blood clots or maybe the stone dissolved and passing? He did not do this since Sunday after being on pain pills.

As of today – March 9 – he seems much better. I have been told he must be on the prescription food for the rest of his life to prevent more stones. IMO the food is horrible – first ingredient chicken by parts and all sort of other ingredients I try to avoid.

Is there anything I can do for him and to prevent further stones other than keeping him on prescription food for the rest of his life?

Of course, he is also receiving Reiki from me and others.

We moved to a brand new home on October 31 on a street where we walk Taffy with a lot of new home construction, including next door. And we still have back yard construction (pool). My question is: What message does Taffy have for me about living in our new home and neighborhood (likes, dislikes, concerns, how she feels physically and emotionally)? What does she want me to know to make her life better in our new home? Thanks! p.s. Miraculously, her riding in the car when leaving home has improved significantly since we moved!

Val, if six indoor cats get along with each other (no fights but definitely favorites in the clowder), why don’t they criticize the unsocial behavior of a member? The main bath accommodates eight regular-size litter boxes. Julie-Belle (the matriarch), Yossi, and Lily-Grace all poo outside the boxes. Lily-Grace also pees outside the boxes, and that’s really messy because of the floor space covered, the wetness under a box or two, and the litter scattered by one or more other cats. Surely, the tidy cats resent this; surely no one wants the stink; surely no one wants the risk of accidentally stepping in it. So why don’t they protest Lily-Grace’s behavior to her?

Hi Val, I wonder if you could speak a bit about a clowder of cats (8) in an apartment that they never go outside of. There are serious issues with one not eating, and the other peeing outside the box. When I try and connect deeper to understand the ‘why’s’ it is has if there is a veil that is blocking the communications. I have tried to speak with the group, like a campfire chat; I have tried to do one on one; as well have attempted communication with the Oversoul of cats, but still not having any luck. I really sense that their energies are all so intermingled that I cannot get clarity, too, there feels to be a weird unhappiness cloud in the home. Can too many cats in one place be harmful to each individual cats wellbeing? Could the one not eating be the one that has attempted to harmonize the group but can no longer take it on? Like her body is so full of trying that she can’t even eat?

Hi Val. I am wondering about my cat Ezla. He is a very happy kitty but he coughs/sneezes alot in the last year. He is very healthy and active. He hunts mice, rabbits, and birds, and does get tapeworms. I treat him without the mainstream meds. My girls, respond very well to this as they have gotten worms too, but his seems to be ongoing or recurring, especially during summer when fleas are an issue due to his love of his wildness. I wonder if this is connected somehow to his respiratory or heart health? Otherwise he is a very healthy cat. Thank you!

My question is about the technique of showing a worst case scenario to an animal. By doing this I’m worried that I will be putting fear into an animal that will be damaging. I would never want my dog to think that I would ever give her such drastic behaviour ultimatums as euthanasia. I want my dog to feel unconditionally loved. I don’t want her to co-operate with human expectations just out of fear. Am I just transferring a shallow human psychological model onto them that isn’t valid? Is the worst case scenario showing them something that they cannot foresee and therefore is completely necessary? Can you help me understand the way this works for them? Thank you, Rosemary

Dear Val,
I have two cats, Panterita (male, black, almost 5 years old) and Dory (female, greay, almost 3 years old).
I first had Panterita, I saved his live. He has a serious handicap now, he is incontinent. But with my help he is a happy cat again.
When I adopted Dory 2 years ago I negociated a trial period for Dory in case Panterita did not want her But for 10 month they very most of the time happy together.
Then we went on holiday, just for 10 days.
When we came back, the catsitter had never seen Dory during these ten days. Luckily Dory came back home the same night. But Panterita did not want Dory back. First we thought that it was temporary, but it’s been over an year now that Panterita does fight Dory, chases her, does not allow her to eat her meal, and when Dory is outside Panterita does the outmost to avoid Dory gets back in. Dory is extremely scared of Panterita, hiding as soon as she catches a glimps of him.
We love both cats very much. We have tried everything we could think of to reunite them again, but without success.
Dear Val, could you please explain to Panterita that she is not loosing anything if she accepts Dory, and explain to Dory that she should not be so scared, just a bit bolder. Please tell them that they make us suffer because we have endless love and always enough food for both of them, and we will all be much happier if they get along together.

Beauty was a feral cat that my best friends adopted cat as an outside cat. we have had Beauty neutered/ spayed 3 years ago through TNR program. Beauty’s health has not been the best. Beauties mom took her to the vet to get checked and was convinced to vaccinate her (although she was already thru TNR program). Beauties mom did not know about the danger of vaccines and her health declined now even more.
also found out beauty was a male not female! opps!
1. Does beauty prefer to be called Beau?
2. How can we help him feel more comfortable, or help him?
3. Is Beauty ready to cross over and if so does he want assistance in doing so? what does she want or need from us.
WE Love BEAUTY so much. He has gone from mean feral to sweetest loving cuddly kitty in 3 years. its hard to see her sooo skinny and fur so motty. we wnat the best for him.

I did the Awake Your Inner Guidance class per Val advice. I loved it. VAL, it helped so much with my fears and blocks! WOW what an awesome class!

I had a fear that was bothering me after I asked the worse case scenario and I was going to ask you ” now what do I do with this fear of suffering ?” and Understanding your Inner protector was next that took care of it.

Totally worth it! Next I am talking to my kitties!

During our last laser session, we both had the impression that Blacky does not want any further medical interventions for her paw (cancerous tumors). In the meantime the paw has blown up to at least 3x the normal size and seems to be pretty painful. She can’t use it any longer and always keeps it lifted up. Additionally, it is often bleeding quite heavily. Can you pls check in with her, if she still does not want any surgery (amputation). I am preoccupied with my own thought that it would give her more quality of life for whatever time she has left, if we remove the paw.

After posting above that Taffy is riding better in the car when leaving home in our new home, she was highly agitated when we took her in the car the next time–going to her pet sitters for an overnight stay (where she has gone a few times before). She has not been there for six months, since before we moved. When she returned the following day, she had stress colitis (bloody mucous in stool) and appeared to not have pooped at all there.
Does Taffy have any concerns about staying with this family? Why did she have a significant stress reaction this time?

I am dealing with fleas – first time in many years.

I asked the vet what to do and was sold Capstar, Revolution, and a spray to great the house. She wants me to continue with Revolution all summer, an expense I simply cannot handle.

I saw fleas on both cats yesterday afternoon. After pilling with Capstar and putting the Revolution on them I did not find any fleas on them last night. The slept without scratching, unlike the night before. I have not seen any fleas other than on the cats necks with I checked with a flea comb before dosing them.

Do you have any suggestions for natural solutions?

This is the first time this has happened and my hope is once I get rid of them it will not occur and I won’t need to poison my indoor cats forever just in case a flea slips in.

I will not be able to be on the call tomorrow other than maybe the first few minutes due to a schedule conflict. I’ll catch the reply on the replay. I know I am late posting and you may not get to this question. I just discovered the problem late yesterday when i combed them.

Get some 20 Mule Team Borax, can mix some baking soda with it if you want to freshen odor and make it go further. First vacuum the floors, then sprinkle this down on the carpet, behind and under furniture, on the furniture under cushions, etc. EVERYWHERE. Take a broom, the outside kind with the long big brush is best but any kind will do, and sort of push the borax into the carpet. Let sit several hours or overnight.Then vacuum again everywhere, empty vacuum cleaner into plastic bag and remove. It totally kills all fleas but won’t hurt your animals.
Several years ago a friend was going to start a business with a big flea and insect company but decided the prices they charged wouldn’t fly in the small town where he lived. He took a small sample of their product and had it analyzed. It was 20 mule team borax! ground into a finer dust. He put me on to that secret when I lived in the country. It works!
Also the best natural thing to use for animals is apple cider vinegar and water, half and half. That spray (or maybe for cats wet a cloth and rub over them) but that keeps fleas off them.

Marveling again, as I did with Val’s end-of-life conversation with Cooper last year, at the conversation with Blacky: the depth of clarity, compassion, and confidence in the connection. Also, in response to Pam(?), the ability to see and part a veil, and to follow a line of communication (sorry, this is vague; need to listen again). This is not a golden nugget I’m capable of practicing, but it’s fascinating to glimpse what advanced communicators can do. Oh, and I guess play a game: if I were able to see a thread, what would I be seeing and how would it feel?
