ModeratorWe are glad you are interested in practicing talking together with an animal!
To get started, greet the animal and ask if they have time to talk with you. Remember that animals also lead busy lives even though we may not see all that they do. If they aren’t available, check back later.
Introduce yourself and explain why you are reaching out to them: that you are a member of the Animal Talk Coaching & Mastery Club and learning to better communicate with animals and would appreciate their help. You can ask them any questions you want. Typically they do provide a response. Please share your impressions of their personality, energy, how they feel and any insights they may share with you. By sharing what you get, the animal’s person can provide you with feedback and others can jump in too.
Use the Forum SEARCH field (located at the top of the right column below the picture of the Featured Animal Teacher) to find more discussions involving this animal (or other animals with the same name).
Some conversations have been lively, and we’ve learned some amazing insights, and laughed at jokes. Remember that this is a safe place to practice. This is about practice and learning, it is not about getting it perfect. The animals have much to teach us, to share with us and we with them.

Platinum MemberHi Natalie, thanks for letting me speak with Bear. I’m very rusty, so I hope some of this resonates with you!
Bear was a bit wary at first, but I explained why I needed his help to improve, so I could talk to my kids in spirit, and then he gave an excited little yelp! His energy is medium. The aura first seemed yellow, then orange…I don’t actually see the colors, just get an impression. His breathing is even, and he has a loud bark. His favorite time is lying in the sun! I also see him walking slowly on the grass. His favorite food seems to be pieces of meat/some brown pieces?
Is there some issue with his lower back?
He is a wise old soul, rather pensive, and seems to be middle aged. Yet, he’s young at heart, and has puppy like traits. His personality is balanced, and he is contented with his life.
His role with you is as an anchor, and I get the impression of a past life with you. Sorry but I could not confirm that with him. He sometimes feels a bit lonely when you’re busy…. hope I’m wrong! His advice to me was to persist with AC.Thanks again Natalie, and much love to you and Bear. Blessings

Platinum MemberHi Nita, what a lovely and unexpected message and the timing is perfect. You capture Bear perfectly, he is 7 but everyone thinks he is a puppy, he does have a loud bark (much more vocal now than he ever was!), he is wise, and balanced. I could never put into words what he is to me but your use of the word anchor is absolutely spot on. He is my number one boy, best friend and I love him to the moon and back.
I have been feeling so guilty as from lack of time he hasn’t had the attention I would like to give him. We spend a lot of time together, he has the best food (meat as you say) and we have lots of cuddles but he needs more exercise and play time, and I really feel he is missing out on that enrichment rather than company. And he started getting very boisterous with other dogs so he hasn’t really socialised much with other dogs for a while.
I used to connect with Bear every day but I stopped, and I don’t know why. Today I connected and I also felt some lower back discomfort so I will keep an eye on that, thank you for pointing out.
Thank you again for connecting with Bear, it made us both very happy indeed!-

Platinum MemberThanks for your prompt response Natalie, and encouraging feedback. I’m so glad to get a few things right! Though I hope I’m wrong about the lower back! Time is always an issue for most of us, so I’m sure he understands that…must be happy you connected again!
Much love to both of you, and thanks again!
Blessings

Silver MemberHi there Natalie,
I feel that Bear says that his breathing through his nose is hindered. He cannot draw the same amount of air that other breeds of dogs can. This slows him down in what he is able to do.
I feel that Bear says that when he’s gone back to Spirit one day, that you should not get the same dog breed that he is out of sentimentality and longing for him. He says that one should not support those breeders because he had difficulty breathing through his nose. He would not choose the same body anymore either.
But of course, he says, he supports rescueing any kind of dog out of a shelter (but not buying overbred breeds from breeders). I feel he shows me leaflets that inform people of how unhealthy it is for certain animals the way they were bred as they also have breathing problems (e.g. Persian cats). It is as if he said ‘somebody should spread that word’.So I feel that he is a dog taking life easier and at a slower pace than other dogs. Also because he is getting on in years.
I feel that he is able to live that kind of life with you, at a slower pace and according to his abilities and needs. You are not asking too much of him but allow him to be. I feel he says you are not pulling him on the leash nor dragging him to all kinds of events and he does not have to perform for you in any way. So he can still be comfortable in this body as he can decide over his actions at his own convenience for most of the time (He does not like going to the vet much). He feels free of constraints and no power is exercised over him. That is a great compliment to you.
This could all be my imagination …
Thanks !
