Rumery is our Featured Animal (FAT) for Feb 2023

Barb C has volunteered to host her cat, Rumery as our next Featured Animal Teacher (FAT). You will enjoy getting to know this wonderful animal teacher. Gold and Platinum members will have an opportunity to connect with Rumery along with Val on the Q&A call Saturday, February 11, using the call in numbers found in your course materials. Check your time on a world clock for call time of 11:30am Eastern / 10:30am Central Texas. Call reminder emails will also be sent to you.

We encourage all of you to connect with Rumery now and throughout the month.

Tune into Rumery first and see what you sense. It’s not just about getting words although that’s a lot of fun when it happens. Remember that telepathic comes from ‘tele’ meaning over a distance like telephone and television, and ‘pathic’ that comes from pathos. So literally telepathic is emotion over a distance.

How does Rumery feel to you? Happy? Sad? Excited? etc. Ask Rumery ice breaker questions as you might with any new teacher. It’s not about “getting the right answer” but about connecting with a wonderful animal.

Yes, this is Moderator Barb and her cat Rumery who several of you have expressed interest in getting to know. And Rumery has been asking to be FAT for ages and Val has now agreed. Rumery is excited to hear from you.

Connected with Rumery – my feeling was delightful cat, mischievous, cheeky and energetic. He said he would love to talk – feels fighting fits and loves his life. Says his person takes very good care of him and the other animals. Says I must find time to keep practicing as they are all waiting to share. Says I can help so many animals, particularly those confused and sad (I work with surrendered dogs). I asked if he communicated with other animals and he said they had an understanding of each other. He said he had lived as other animals in past lives, dogs and horses as well as cats. He said he loves being outside as there is so much to see and just sitting relaxing gives him an opportunity to observe all that is going on. He also likes to play and just cuddle with his person when he feels she needs it. Hope at least some of this resonates as I am very new at this.

We are thrilled to hear from you and yes, you definitely connected with Rumery!
He is definitely as you describe him: elightful cat, mischievous, cheeky and energetic. He has been waiting for someone to talk with him.The morning he was posted as FAT he was like a kid on Christmas morning awaiting Santa! As a result he has been disappointed about the time it has taken to see a post and came to tell me it was TIME to check again.
Yes, he does take very good care of me reminding me to take breaks from work, include more play, meal times, bed time.
I’m relieved to hear him say that I take good care of other animals as they don’t live with us so it means I have to leave him alone to take care of them. One dog in particular, Ellie, has had overnight visits recently which was tolerated by Rumery as I was not at home. Perhaps that too is part of the understanding. Rumery doesn’t mind dog smells on me, but there is at least one cat whose smell that is not to be tolerated.
Rumery was a rescue left alone as a kitten when his new owner was detained. Construction guys found him and fed him pizza. To this day heavy equipment doesn’t bother him and he does enjoy sneaking bread. He doesn’t typically go outside but he does have window seats t o keep an eye on ALL that goes on. HE enjoys the birds at the bird feeder more as visiting friends.

Yes, do keep practicing! You are doing great. And remember that it easier to communicate with animals that are not our own. Talking with our FAT and other Animal Teachers is a great way to get feedback.

You are doing incredibly important work with surrendered dogs and increasing the ways you can communicate with them will be a tremendous help to both of you.

I spoke with Rumery today. When I introduced myself and asked if I could talk to him, he stretched and sat up and stared at me. He seems like a cool, calm and collected kind of guy. We looked at each other for a second or two and then he said “OK what do you want to talk about?”. I asked him if he was an indoor or outdoor cat. He said he was technically an indoor cat but sometimes he goes outside to sunbathe if his mom is tending the garden or sitting outside with a cup of coffee. I asked him if he was the only pet in the home? I didn’t get a straight answer. My impression was that while there may be another dog in the family (probably not), he was the only cat. He said “If Mom is thinking about getting a kitten, tell her the answer is no!”. I asked him what he likes to do and he said the top two things he likes to do are sleeping and eating. He does enjoy hanging out with his Mom when she is working too. He says when he lays on the desk when she is working, he feels calm and he feels his Mom’s love for him. I asked him if there was anything else he would like to tell his Mom and he said “No”. I thanked him for the communication and we ended the connection.

Oh Terrianne, that is so very much Rumery.

Rumery is an indoor cat and does the vast majority of his sunbathing right next to the window on a soft blanket. On occasion he has gone outside of his own accord. One of the early times he headed next door and was stunned to discover that it was v e r y B I G out there. He looked over his shoulder at me with his own eyes huge. It took quite a while and I was quite frantic but he did come back, I think it was getting closer to meal time. HE does come to the window or door to supervise any outdoor activity, well, that doesn’t conflict with nap time. Even then he’ll stop by to make sure things are going properly before settling in for his nap.

It is helpful to know explicitly know his opinion on ‘He said “If Mom is thinking about getting a kitten, tell her the answer is no!” ‘ as I was wondering if he was lonely and had given some thought to a kitten which now thank to you being an excellent messenger, won’t happen.

It’s true he is the only cat. There are some friend’s whose dog I occasionally take care of at there house not here, and there are neighbor dogs, some that would be his ‘cousins’ and he mostly tolerates them without incident so long as they understand that Rumery is in charge. Come to think of it, those dogs are often quicker to figure it out then some folks, but that is a different story. Rumery does have his options.

He is cool and calm and practical. Makes sense to check things out before leaping in, tho in earlier days his leaps were even scarier to me than of late tho he can be quite the adventurer.

Rumery came into my life just as I was getting to know Val and we were at an event together. She asked if I’d told this new to me rescue kitty where I was going and how long I’d be away and what I’d be doing. Err, no I hadn’t because my prior cats didn’t like it when I prepared to travel.

Well that just won’t do. Val insisted I place a phone call to Rumery and explain where I was, what I was doing, and when I’d be home. The voicemail recorder would broadcast the message so I knew he’d get it. After I finished, Val instructed me to send multiple telepathic message to Rumery each day to keep him in the know including when I’d be home. Upon my arrival home around 1 am, Rumery met me at the door. He then listened when I replayed HIS voicemail message, and had no interest in any of the others.

And that started Rumery’s relationship with Val, and me beginning my animal communication adventures.

Thank you, Barb, for offering Rumery as the Featured Animal Teacher. Here’s what I got from talking with him on the call:
I am like Harry Potter. I am also like a scientist in that I very much want to Heal. I am different though because I know the answers and how through love and energy and I can tell what is going on and causes and what is needed by contact or just being near. I can smell what is going on and what is needed too. Mom never mommy knows this and witnessed it firsthand on herself and others.

I am aloof at times and social too with select ones.

He gave advice on some concerns and confusion involving cats

Said we’ll meet. He was referring to in person. I am not sure how because I have not traveled in a long time.

Said helping me with business opportunities. Sending to me. Don’t focus so much on them. Let me give them to you, okay ? Okay. Thank you 🙏. Rub on ear.
I am very grateful to him for his help. Thank you, Rumery.

Mom you have been worrying too much about him a man. He’ll be okay all good.

I get stuck trying to understand people. I understand but then don’t understand why when I help and counsel then they let something else later of similar nature do the same thing to them. I don’t understand why mom lets herself get affected by this one female in her life.

He said sometimes he gets a little dry. He said about urine crystals or blocked or something too.

yes, he is a healer and very loving to those on his positive list. Respect is required and he is in charge. He does take great care of me, reminding me when I should take a break, meal time, sleep, and definitely for some play fun which he can pop up at unexpected yet very much needed times to breakthrough being stuck.

He may appear aloof to some as he does check things out first taking in more than we know. Not all pass the examination as Rumery is very discerning. But those who do are rewarded, tho they may not think is enough but if they pay attention, he’ll let them know when it is time to stop. It is subtle at first, and then he may come out swinging or nipping if they don’t back off. But he will have done his special thing attending to their needs, if appropriate.

Let them give it to you rather than trying to force it or over think it is useful info for me as well. Thanks for sharing the verbal reminder as we both up level ourselves.

Play is another hot reminder button for Rumery as he reminds me frequently, too.

He is a strong force of love, both introverted and extroverted, switching back and forth as serves him. And yes the humor makes me laugh out loud. Such a treat.

Interesting message about the worry about a man likely a long term client who recently retired and moved and has some aging issues. Thanks for letting me know he’ll be ok. And understanding people people must look super confusing when similar triggers get well triggered again and again. Smarty. I’ll practice my neutral observer more.

I’m guessing that his recent time in his jungle, aka my collection of green plants may be related to his dryness issues. Time to get some more kitty grass for him. Thanks for the reminder.

I have refrained my self to read what others have got from your gorgeous Rumery, as I wanted to have the live Heart Meditation and than approach him.
(I admit, it was not easy to refrain 😀)

I will write from my heart here what I have got, even though it may resemble with what others may have said before, but to me, is purely my experience of communicating with him.

I: Hi Rumery! ( in whispering voice… as it is how I felt to do it)
R: Hi! Why are you whispering? He whispered back…
I: Ahm… I don’t know, I didn’t want to scare you.. in a normal voice.
R: I’m a cat and I’m FAT. You won’t scare me. He said smiling. ( I think he was exactly using the word “fat” as it sounds. Fat like chubby, and FAT in block letters as I sensed he likes clever humor)

Than I heard your voice Barb calling him, short: – Rumery!
R: What? Whatever it is I didn’t do it! And he pushed with his front right paw, a pen off the desk.🤣🤣🤣

I felt a little lost, and I sort of intensified my connection and called him again, Rumery!
He has shown to me, a heart made of many tones of pink to red color.💗

I than have asked: Do you let me scan you?
Rumery just nodded.
I have scanned him, and his body seemed to be in optimum condition, absolutely healthy, no energy blocks, nor have I sensed any pain.
His fur is mostly soft, but along the spine it is darker, and a little coarser, like longer hairs.
When I heard him it was a deep “man” voice, like Sean Connery.

It’s not too much, but I have acknowledged the fact that he likes to laugh, and is a comedian, as he likes to see others laugh too.

You can’t imagine how happy I am that hearing others saying that my bits and pieces I have written are like theirs! It is a huge moment of joy for me!

I think and feel this was like a gift from him to me, for my 1 year anniversary!
You mentioned that he is a Reiki Master, so perhaps, that is why he let me practice on him, by nodding to me in understanding, when I have asked for his permission to scan him.

For this time, I got the impression that Rumery is very much like the actor Sean Connery in many ways: Elegant, funny, with positive attitude, spreading love and light, and laughter.

Lucia you are right about Respect being required. Such a great lesson as his his demonstration of having boundaries.

He definitely would whisper back if that’s how you communicate but would want to know WHY? whispering. And very clever humor. Totally excited to FINALLY be the FAT after pleading with Val and I for months, years. And totally he would plead innocent and then push a pen or worse off the edge. And yes that Sean Connery style.

Now that you mention it he does do scans. Terrianne mentioned that he stared at her when they first came together for communication. Sometimes when I enter a room or say something to him when he wasn’t expecting it he pauses then too. No I understand that he is doing a scan to take in information at many more levels than humans do, taking it all in to make and informed decision or comment or action.

His fur is soft and glossy in the sunshine of his favorite window viewing/napping stations. He is soft and strong. We enjoy morning journaling together and evening reading time when sometimes he simply leans against me, other times he comes to read over my shoulder. One author I’ve been enjoying who writes romantic comedies, Lucy Score, I think he approves of though I did email her that sometimes Rumery is concerned about the furniture moving because I’m laughing so hard. She emailed back and said she’d work on it for my cat. HE liked that. He too loves humor and is aching me more about fun. Just reading these posts has me laughing outlaid. . Great job, Lucia!

I connected again with Rumery during our 2/11 Master Class. This was the second time connecting with Rumery. He is a very humble guy who is patient with newer students. I have been trying to find information regarding Being One With the Animal recently. During the call when we were about contact Rumery, Val mentioned Being One With the Animal. I got a little excited when she said that. Rumery must have sensed my excitement because he invited me to be one with him. I was so excited but I said “Wait, are you sure? How are you going to do it with all these people who are asking to talk to you?” He told me not to worry about it. I entered his body like I was riding him piggy-back. He jumped off the desk and batted a toy (blue or pink little fuzzy ball). Then he climbed up a cat tree. It was so exciting. I was like a kid at Disneyland. I asked him to jump somewhere again. He jumped to his favorite window spot. I wanted him to go to more places but I knew he had others to talk to. I thanked him for such an incredible, fun experience!

Terrianne, thank you for again connecting with Rumery. Yes, he is excited to assist people and I’m sure delighted to show you some of his playground adventures. The ball is one that has a furry tail attached to a gray ball pingpong sized. HE does like to climb things and jump. He occasionally will climb up the back of the desk chair which can be exciting for both of us and sometimes the folks on the Zoom call who see him. He has quite a following.

And yes, when he is done he moves on, often without a gracious goodbye which has more to do with practicality than being dismissive. And yes, he was aware there were several folks who needed attention during his time on the QA call on Saturday. Thanks for woks with him, you did great job. Glad you enjoyed the ride, Terrianne.

Evelyne, what wonderful description of Rumery! Yes, he was super excited to be FAT and thrilled when he gets to speak with students.

Rumery was rescued. His owner was detained, some construction workers gave this starving kitty pizza (he still goes for breads) and the person whaving the contstruction done already had 3 cats plus knew I’d recently lost my cat so asked if she could bring the cat to me. She and her sons showed up with the cat, food, litter and box. And handsome Rumery was first love – I had to fight off my visiting parents for custody so Rumery didn’t get confused. We’ve been an item ever since. We both were born in norther rural Maine which explains some of our practical over glitz approaches. And we enjoying going back to our cottage near there in the summer.

I’ve often said that his full name is Rumery Pesky. He is n ow an indoor cat though he has the run of the house and cottage. There is heavy traffic and wind animals respectively so I don’t let him outside. He does have multiple locations in windows so he can see everything including the dogs next-door.

AS the connection got weaker during the call, I suspect he went to talk with another student as he really didn’t want anyone to miss out. He is a caring healing guardian which includes teaching. And he tells it like it is even when we humans don’t yet understand. You did great, Evelyne. Visit Rumery again, he’ll let you know if he isn’t available at the time.

Hi Barb,

I tried to connect to Rumery twice, once before the Q&A and the second time during the Q&A last Saturday.

The first thing that came to me is that he is very playful and joyful. My heart center activated focusing on him.
He loves interaction, a real bond, a connection with others. Words I got were: loving, intense, big heart, sharing.
Is he a male, possibly around 3 years old?

When I asked what he likes he said ‘chasing, jumping up high on things, going into every corner’ .. I got an image of a cement floor (like a garage or storage room) with a huge open cupboard with shelves for storage with linnen boxes on the floor.
She likes to nuzzle up against you, will sometimes come on to your lap.

Something came up about another black cat? I felt some sadness around that but did not get any further.

When I asked him about his role he said I am a Healer, I shine my love.

The second time I connected during the Q&A he felt clowny, like in a circus, rolling on the floor to make fun.
He felt very cheerful and open.
This time he said his role is to be a Teacher: to teach you how to be more joyful and playful.

He likes to jump and hide (bird chase) loves strokes on his belly, purring and nuzzling.

He told me I am sweet (:)?) and that I should try and talk to my own cats.

That is about all I got as a start – I am not confident yet at all about receiving information.
I was happy to hear during the Q&A though that somebody else also said he is there to teach you to be more joyful 🙂

Hi Mascha, Thank you for connecting with Rumery. Yes, he is playful and joy is important to him as he is trying to teach me to have more of both in my life. It isn’t that I don’t have a good life, I’ve just been very responsible including carrying burdens for other so Rumery has been working hard to get me to include play and be less serious. He does enjoy close bonds ON HIS TERMS with others and sometimes it can be quite intense.

Rumery is male and he feels like he is about 3 years old though in fact he is 11. I had to do the math to figure out how old he is as he is full of energy though he is beginning to sleep more or at least look like he is sleeping more. He does enjoy chasing, jumping up high on things tho a bit less so in recent years. As a younger cat he would leap up onto the top of the open double hung window to look out and freak me out. In the summer we go to our family cottage in northern Maine which has tile floors (they look similar to concrete) which he loves to run and slide across. And he has taken to rearranging a shelving unit on which I stored some cotton shirts which means some shirts got shifted to the floor.

He does come up and snuggle and lean and will tolerate brief periods of lap time, on his terms. I had two cats before Rumery came to live with me, one of whom was a black and white cat who during our interview decide I was his and crawled up to sit on my shoulder. Later in his life he would leap from the floor up onto my shoulder while I was doing the dishes. At over 12 pounds it was always a bit of a shock. We were close so I’m wondering if that is part of it or if there is another black cat in his or our history.

Oh Rumery is a great healer. And one of the ways he shows his love is to come tell me when it is time for bed and then once I’m finally (I can hear hims saying that ) under the blankets he comes to tuck me in for the night. It’s very sweet. He curls up next to me until he feels me relax enough so that sleep will come. IF I toss and turn, he returns to soothe me.

You did great and do practice with your own cats which will be harder in my experience. I’m learning much from all your conversations with Rumery.

Hi Barb,

I connected to Rumery and I thought, that I wrote you here, but obviously I did not.
So I connected today again. He was sleeping, when I knocked on his door and it took him a while to open, but then he was vey cruise and present. He is a very strong, powerful being, a strong healer. he combines heart wisdom and heart energy with the wide openness into different astral worlds. last time and also today he invited me to travel habit with him. He showed me, that he often seems to be asleep ore dozing, but actually he is working.
the worlds he shows me are of different kind and energy. one of them is full with geometric structures and the energy transmission is done through a light technology, we don’t have her on the earth (jet maybe). I don’t see embodied beings there, but the frequency is to high. the beings are present and comunicating. I feel dizzy connecting to that world, also like my blood pressure is rising up a lot. Rumery says: “just let it go through your body. it does not harm. Just relax and trust.” I feel that a bit of fear is erasing in my system, but it is not the place to be in fear, so I push it away. I slowly connect now to the beings, operating on that planet. They surround me also to check me, if I am a good spirit. also for them my structure is strange and they need time to feel me. This is very exhausting for means I have to rest literally.
They are very fine structured, I have to tune my nerval system finer and finer. It is not so easy for me. I’m sitting with it. It feels very good. Rumery is smiling. It feels like there is a rainbow waterfall going through my body and system and cells. It feels so good. Rumery tells me, that this world is at the same time outside of us and within us. My system has to digest this information. The beings of that planet show me now different technologies. everything works very fast. they reorganize certain pattern, which look like light lines. It happens within micro seconds. they show me now, that they are working on the sea of planet earth. they are connected to dolphins and whales. the singing of the whales is a part of the light work they do- the reorganization of the light pattern, the lines. I see the whales are singing and this organizes instantly the geometric structure in their surrounding. they (whales)show me, that they have a very special brain with highly active nerval structure, and those brains are working in that different areas (where most of our human brains have been asleep). I understand now, that part of their (the beings on that different planet) work is about the nerval structure as part of this, the brain.
I feel, that it is enough for now and Rumery nods. I say thank you from heart to heart and brain to brain and slowly I’m coming back into my human shape and form (energetically).
I need a bit of time now, to rest and digest the information. I feel suddenly a lot of love for Rumery. he is putting hid nose to my face and I can feel his soft, warm body with the beautiful fur. I say thank you from my heart, that he made this experience possible and I slowly come back to my place. He says, that I can come , whenever I feel like again. He will show me even different worlds and when he said this, he is very cheeky, but I feel not afraid. he is just making fun. he said, he has to go now.
When I ask a last question about the relationship to Barb he says: we know each other since very long time. many lifes we have spent on each others side. Barb is a very strong soul. She is a healer as well. she is now in different soul projects and I love that she gives me the space to do my things. Her strength synergies with the strength I bring. we do good for each other and I protect her, like she takes care of my cat body very well. She has been a strong healer in the past. I love her with all my heart. Tell her to not be afraid of the “other world”. I’m also here to guide her, whenever she is longing for this. Thank you Rumery <3

Oh Nicole, this is amazing. I could feel the others worlds through your description and this makes much sense to me. How thrilling he shared that with you. As I began typing this, Rumery came in and I told him of how delighted I am for the two of you and that I looked forward to joining him on a similar adventure and his purrs got very old and there are head bumps and he’s now leaped up to assist witht my reply to you you. I’m getting deep looks.and I’m not sure I am doing justice in this reply.

I love the flow the of light technology. I sometimes get dizzy too when there are powerful messages come through, afterward I feel different and often need more processing time to digest, too.

Rumery does protect me likely more than I know or understand. I am grateful thought sometimes I get frustrated by the message methods like his hiding so we can’t leave for the summer cottage, or waking me at night though at the time I don’t know why but once I get more neutral, I calm and am thankful also for his patience with me. Ok, patience may be a bit of an overstatement but like all master teachers he just nods and hopes that one day I will understand more.

Dear Barb,
I am delighted to be able to get to know Rumery a little better.
Here is what I got so far:
When I first tuned in and said hello, Rumery rubbed his face against my chin.
His energy is intense. He is confident.
When I introduced myself I said I was from the UK. He said: yes that is far away and I saw an image of the ocean. He said: The old country, we call it. I have had many past lives there.
I saw an image of a busy industrial town (not modern) – possibly london.
He said: I came here to help Barb with her work.
He rolled onto his back and put his paws in the air and showed me a white tummy.

He does a lot of cat business, like prowling and hunting birds.
I asked about his relationship with you.
He said: I protect her.
A message for you – he said: I’ve got this. Keep calm. I direct the energy around you. I keep difficult things away. Don’t resist my help.
I asked about his soul purpose.
He said: to grow and develop. He looked up at the stars in the cosmos. He said: I transmute energy.
Then as I prepared to say goodbye he showed me a picture of him batting at insects in a shaft of light. And as I said goodbye, he intimated that it was fine for me to go, saying: I know how this works. He meant the whole deal of practising with the FAT.

Rosemary you are right, Rumery is intensely powerful and confident. Interesting about the past lives, I too see the old country with busy industrial town. Wow, you are special as very few get to see that he has a white bit of tummy which is very soft and sweet.

It is lovely to know that he protects me and the energy around me. And I too have been known to be stubborn and not ask for or trust being open for help so this is an excellent lmessage and lesson that I don’t ave to do it all myself and not instantly perfect.

How wonderful to know that he transmutes energy, I think that is something on which I’ll ask for his help. He does do alot of cat work. One thing I am aware of is his nightly patrol of our place once he has tucked me into bed. He does like prowling. As an indoor cat most of his actual attacks are of the stuffed variety but occasionally a mouse does get in and he brings them to me so we can play. OR the time one expired and he put it on his placemat for me.

Hi Barb,

I enjoyed meeting Rumery at the live Q&A call. He’s a lovely kitty — curious, an explorer, and playful. I couldn’t quite decide if he is outgoing or withdrawn, so maybe it’s both. I felt like he can be withdrawn. When I greeted him, he was up high on a kitchen counter and he got closer to me, sniffed me and jumped up on me to have me hold him on my shoulder. He stayed with me a bit and I asked about you and he expressed that he loves you deeply.

Also saw that he likes to wrestle with things and pounce. He was shaking his bum and ready to pounce on the floor and nothing was there. For his role, he said, “I’m holding the fort.” I saw sky blue under him and I know I didn’t get that quite right because he has a rainbow aura. Pictured him walking on the street/sidewalk a bit exploring but I see that you said he doesn’t go outside.

I did pick up that he has a deeper-sounding voice — that was interesting. That hadn’t happened before where I sensed a type of speaking voice.

I enjoyed this and hope to talk with Rumery again! 🙂

Hi Maria, yes Rumery is very curious, explores and play. He is both outgoing with those he likes and on his terms, and withdrawn when he isn’t interested and perhaps deems something or someone not of his preference.

While counter walking is not often, it does happen and if an opportunity, I pick him up and he like to survey all from my shoulder for a short while and then is ready to move on. We do share a deep love.

He does like to wrestle and pounce and chase and like you sometimes I can’t see what he is going after but I’m pretty sure he sees something or he is trying to lure me into play.

Seeing sky blue under him doesn’t feel wrong to me. It does sometimes feel like he goes off flying so into a blue sky feels right. He has occasionally gotten out but not on a sidewalk, mostly in rural settings though there may be some footpaths he went off on.

This deep voice is such a treat to learn about as I can feel it especially when he looks deep into my eyes, but I haven’t really Hearn it. His meow cat voice doesn’t get used very often and usually only to query where I am if I’ve been away from home recently, or to announce his unexpected presence and needs my attention paid to his presence.

We are here together, at this sacred time together, joined with our hearts. It is so easy this process but humans over complicate it. Just believe and just relax, then it’s easy. I am connecting with Rumery as I write this. He is worried about me and my continuous thinking. He says this is part of lack of Self Love and asked me what happened. He said he knows already because we’re connected and have been for just about all life times. He says I need to listen to Hawkeye and have confidence and follow Hawkeye’s example. Rumery says that rather than thinking, worrying, planning, etc. that it would be good for me when it’s just to much and I am not really sure to just do something even if it turns out inconvenient or to go ahead and make a mistake (not big mistake). He said things would be much better for my kitties and me.
Now he wants to tell me about his day 🙂

He says I went exploring in the closet or maybe the pantry. I get the two confused because they are both little rooms where stuff is kept. What is the difference, Martha ?
Me- well, Rumery, a closet is where clothes, shoes, maybe a vacuum cleaner (he’s saying Yikes! I don’t like those !). I am telling him I know, most kitties don’t. He wants to know more about the difference.
A closet can store a lot of different things. A pantry is for food and maybe paper towels, napkins, etc.
He is saying, Ah! I Love the pantry. I quite often go in there and rummage around and sometimes sit on the shelf and watch Mom or hang out- sometimes when she takes a nap on rare occasion or sleeping for a bit. I spend a lot of time with her when she sleeps and I sleep, too.
I Love the pantry ! I have treats in there!
Me- Ah! It sounds like a great time for you when you are in the pantry !
Rumery – it is! I enjoy the refrigerator, too !
Martha, I saw a bird today, too. She came to the window and asked me where her family was. I told her where they were.

Martha, Rumery is a wise one. Grateful for the connection the two of you have and that he’s sharing his wisdoms with specifics for you to consider.

Oh my gosh, closets and pantry. Quite the stories. YEs he does go exploring, and often does a walkabout to verify everything is as it should be. He hasn’t been much of a treat eater till recently but that has changed. He does know where the catnip is stored but I hadn’t realized (silly me) that he knew where the treats were. While he isn’t keen on the vacuum cleaner, he is curious about it, and he doesn’t seem to mind power tools. He likes to watch those in use from a supervisor perch. That may because it was construction folks who originally rescued him and fe him pizza.

He does enjoy watch the birds come to the birdfeeder in the winter. The birds often sit in the bush just outside the window of a favorite spot where he can see the birds, and sun, as well as blasts of air from the heating system. He doesn’t seem to be interest in attacking most birds, just watching and perhaps conversing with them.

Rumery does come into the kitchen and occasionally has to remind me to leave my desk and go make us each supper. There is always dry food in his bowl, and most of the time wet food in another bowl but he likes it served up fresh from breakfast and dinner time. And yes we do ‘kiss’ noses – often when we move to different rooms so the other ones know we’ve moved.

Thank you for trying to connect with Rumery. Continue your practicing, he wants you to know that he is available and to be gentle with yourself. Pressure is something we humans tend to add that complicates things.
Learning to do these communications with animals will also work with our animals who have transitioned. It is definitely sad to lose their physical presence int our human lives but they often stay watching over us and connected to us. I’m sorry you haven’t been able to get another cat after yours crossed over. Reaching out to the our Animal Teachers is s great way to practice. Listening to the recordings Gold Q&A calls with the meditation and participating in the FAT discussions is a great way to practice centering and how to approach animals who are avilable toys for practice. Your story about your previous 12 pound cat jumping up on your shoulder while you were doing the dishes is so cute :))
I silly enough forgot to ask him further about any black cat. I started again with simple questions.
I got again that he is playful, curious, an explorer, loving. He was excited to talk to me. Physically he feels fine and in good shape, maybe a bit stiff sometimes.
Does he have a little woolly red ball to play with? I could feel an intense love from him for you. He is very loyal and supports you. Do you sometimes cuddle each other with each others nose?

Rumery does have balls of different colors and his preferred ones are either fuzzy so he can grab and toss in air, or have a bell inside that makes lots of noise when they rush down the hall or stairs. He isn’t currently playing iwht a red one tho there is a black white and red one that reappears in different places. He does have some stashed away in secret hiding places so that may be why he is showing you.

YE he is in good health and shape tho may have some stiffness. We both share Reiki energy to help each other feel better. And he definitely is curious and likes to explore.

He is very loving and loyal to me providing lots of support including when I don’t get his messages as fast as he would. YEs we do cuddle. He gently wakes me in the morning and after his breakfast we sit together while I journal – he provided extra support and grounding when I get into the deep stuff. At night he leans on me while we read, yes, sometimes he wants to see the actual pages. And we do ‘rub nose kisses’. He’s come to sit in my lap as I type this so he also likes getting in on the action.

Great ideas to start with basic questions, and to be curious asking more questions to get more details.

An add on the the 12 pound black and white jumping cat: he was an off spring of a rescued stray who was name Sylvia but turned out to be a boy, and frankly that name just didn’t feel right. We got another baby from another rescued stray at the same time. The second one was a couple of weeks younger and when he arrived, Sylvia was very excited to finally have someone with whom to play and started wrestling with the newbie. It was at that point that I said “Oh no, he being a brute. Ah, Brutus.” AT which point the formerly known as Slyvia looked me in the eye and said “Well, it is about time!” And that was the first time I heard an animal speak to me. It would be years before I met Val and learned it was a real possibility.

Sandy, that sound exactly like Rumery waking up in his window spot that has his beige soft blanket. YEs his personality is strong and he is cheeky, in fact I sometimes cal him Rumery Pesky. When someone is allowed close, he does deem to allow brief head pats, his preferred location for pats. His fur is very soft.

He is very dear to me and me to him. He is a healer, teacher and does his best to teach patience. You are right on target with the current lessons he is supporting me in unleveling from working too hard, putting other first, and not enough time for self. I’m still practicing to improve my habits.

The musical insights are amazing. Yes, there was a dark tv cabinet and I suspect Elvis may have been on it, I certainly remember the Beatles with smiles. Nice reminders. And when I lived closer to Boston I did get to hear more orchestral music and some of it did touch my soul. And I did get much more serious and am working toward remember who are truly and what brings joy and happy and laughter. The nature description does sound like the summer cottage at a lake that Rumery and I enjoy. The red parrot is something I’ll have to figure out the symbolism of but yes, it feelsvery representative. I’m curious to dig into the red car – a friend has one, and she has a dog who I have gone to dog sit for who smell on me is tolerated by Rumery – their house is in setting as you have described.

Thank you so much for the opportunity to speak with Rumery….he looks gorgeous! My apologies for posting at the end of the month….I’d connected to him, and hoped to do so again before posting, but it’s been a stressful time with an old rescue preparing to transition, so I’m afraid I couldn’t focus well and hence got very little information. I’m not looking at any of the responses to keep it totally objective.

Rumery comes through as an imposing personality, very self confident and contented, loves his home. His aura is yellow, brighter around the neck. He feels warm to the touch and has a deep voice. He has a playful side and I got a vision of him spinning around! Though he’s enjoyed it, he says conversations can also be exhausting!

He encourages Barb to be more self confident. When I explained my present situation and said sorry for the brief conversation, he said he understood!

You got his true essence. He does zoom around in circles at times as is one of the ways he tries to engage me in more play. Rumery is very self confident and does love his home which incudes going to the summer cottage so much so he puts up with the ‘Long Drive’ his terminology and rightly so. And you are right all the conversations were/are exciting but can require recovery time.

So this is from 1 of the 3 separate times I connected with Rumery. I am just going from my notes, and they are a bit hard to decipher, but I’m going to give the fragments and see if anything resonates at all.

One thing I am sure of, Rumery is a comedian. I am pretty confident I got that part right. One morning I tuned in at 6 am after I had this major morning download and was exhausted from journaling it.

After waiting for his energy to come in, and then feeling a strong wave

Me: “Rumery, is this you?”
Rumery: “Call me Mr. Rum”

I must have received an image of a brown Bank Card, a big picture window and something about Tea Roses (as per my notes)

At some point I was listening to Roo snoring under my bed

Me: “Do you snore , Rum?”
Rumery: “no, but Barb does”

I actually laughed out loud, even in my somewhat altered state

Me: “Can I come back later?”
Rumery: “Later in the day, this is my nap time”

He’s too much! Does he call you Barb?

Oh, Lee, you very much connected with Rumery. While I mostly call him Rumery, Val definitely calls him Rum and we both often tack on the Mr. in front. Mr. Rum is definitely an endearment. Great connection.

Oh yes he is very much a comedian. He and Val sometimes share jokes separate from me and ne day when I mention a story Val shared with me that they’d had, his head flipped around and he basically yelled at me for getting into their private matters. Mind you I’d been worried when I couldn’t find him and it turned out he’d told her he was on a walkabout. They also share jokes where I only ‘hear’ the chuckles. He does share jokes with me as well.

There are 2 side by side windows which look like a picture window next to the loveseat where he has imprinted his favorite location as has sun, birdfeeder and yard to watch with a straight view down the main hall to keep track of rest of house. Also, is where I do my morning journaling with his support. I enjoy Red Rose Tea during the journaling. And at 6am he is snoozing before he comes to nudge me awake for our day to start.

About the snoring, yes, I snore and he has taken it as his mission to awaken me to get me to roll over to stop snoring and perhaps stop talking in my sleep and /or protect me. For the record, he has begun his own snoring in recent years. And he’s just come in to say hi.

I briefly heard what sounded like a French accent

I got an image of rolls of paper, like maybe wallpaper?

Rumery said he doesn’t like the car, but Barb does. Showed me image of himself riding inside the car.

I must have asked what he liked and I heard TUNA
I balanced his chakras, which he seemed to like, and he invited me into his body next time…
(I forgot to take him up on that)

It wasn’t much,but that was what I got.

The “Energy Encounter”
So then, just last evening I was trying to connect with Rumery. I was waiting to feel him and suddenly with a burst of energy, I hear “RUMERY THE GREAT” like he he jumped in front of me. After that there were no words just waves of coppery energy swirling around for a really long time and it was almost intoxicating. I felt more deeply grounded during this experience than I ever have. It was like I had roots. And I was radiating heart energy like I haven’t ever before. It was a moment of enlightenment. So , if you get a chance Barb, could you ask Rumery if he has any idea what that was all about?

I don’t often hear a French accent from Rumery but have no trouble imagining that, oh wait, a lilting ‘ooooh la la’ just came in from Rumery in the other room.

I suspect there are a few reasons Rumery doesn’t like to ride in the car: he’s in a carrier though now has a larger one and is typically arranged so he can see out multiple windows while the carrie is strapped in. (of course I spoil him). Our typical drive is about 300 miles so 5 hours plus and because the destination is our cottage at the lake in the woods near where we both we born, there is a lot of preparations and loading the car, and stress which he picks up on so even with Rescue Bach Remedy (thanks for the tip, Val), there is some spit up which is not fun. He refers to this as ‘The LONG Drive’ which is super accurate especially as the last 100 miles is through the woods with little traffic. I think he’d rather have free range in the car but that doesn’t feel safe to me. He loves it at the cottage and so do I so it is worth the efforts.

He was mostly a chicken eater till a friend bribed him with some salmon which he liked fresh and now enjoys canned. I just tried giving him Tuna and was unsure of so am glad to hear he likes tuna. Though he doesn’t like people tuna nor the canned tuna water. Obviously it must be prepared to his standards.

WOW your energy encounter with Rumery sounds amazing. OF course how could it not be with such a jumbo beginning of Rumery The Great. What a character. I’ve appreciated his Reiki energy healings, and it makes sense that those energy waves came through him as well. Thanks for describing it as now I recall having some less intense expeirences with him, and I think I’ll check out the more robust version. I’m thrill to hear you balanced and connected with heart energy. Rumor says that you needed a deeper version to purge out stuff that was getting in the way of you recognizing that you are a rooted/grounded heart and we, the world, need much more of that so he was helping to boost you toward levels where you can also protect yourself and enjoy and share.

Rumery has loved sharing his magic with this group. Thank you for spending time with him. He says to tell you he is still available to you even when they take away his crown (FAT).

I feel it does have something to do with the construction workers who fed him pizza. Pizza! Interesting thing to feed a kitty!

His rescuers were eating their lunch on the construction site when they found him. He was very hungry and they were having pizza so they gave him what they had and he ate it.

Now on the other hand when my sister and niece were taking care of him for me and they were having my homemade oatmeal bread with butter, a family tradition, he was curious and they shared with him. And yes he still has a soft spot for it and asks whenever it is around. yes, he gets his own nibble.

Hi Barb,
It’s 1:31 pm PST and when I first connected with Mr. Rumery, he said he was busy. Then probably less than ten seconds later he was ready to talk.

I asked Rumery how he is. He said good. He said, “Now that I got the hair ball up. I hate those! Have you ever had one, Martha?”

Me- “ no, not in this lifetime, Rumery.”
He sent how it feels. It’s like a big thing stuck in the stomach or throat.

Me- “yuck. No fun! I am sorry for when kitties get hair balls.”

Rumery- “ it’s okay. When they come out, it feels so much better! I tend to drink a little afterwards for moisture and to get the taste out of my mouth from the acid.”

Me- “that’s good. I can understand needing to hydrate and get the yucky taste out. A lot of times humans brush their teeth to get the taste out of their mouth. “

Rumery- “no teeth brushing, thank you!” “So, Martha, let me tell you about something exciting since we last spoke! “

Me- “oooh! Please do! What happened?!”

Rumery- “I went outside in my other plane dream state! I smelled lots of things! I also saw a deer on this plane. The deer was so peaceful! (Side note, he seemed a little confused about male or female because he sent an image of both. He’s clarifying)
Rumery, I saw both, but don’t know who was who. What is the difference, Martha?”
Me- well, Rumery, males have antlers on their heads. Antlers look like curvy sticks. Females do not have antlers.”

Rumery- ah! I understand. Okay thank you for clarifying. Deer are so peaceful, Martha. Don’t you agree?
Me- yes, Rumery. Generally they seem very peaceful. I like deer. There are a lot of deer where my mom lives.

Rumery- oh yeah? There are some here, not a lot. We have more other animals. What is your favorite thing to do, Martha?
Me- there are a lot of things I enjoy doing. Lately I don’t do a lot of them.

Rumery- my reason for asking! I am tuned in to you, my dear. Please!!! Do a variety of enjoyable things!”

Me- I Hope to start that soon.

Rumery- no time like the present for enjoyable things and being in the moment. Let your Soul speak and lead the way… always!

Martha, I’m glad to hear that you aren’t having trouble with fireballs. Rumery has now learned that I don’t get upset when he tosses a fireball and will let me be there to do the cleanup, preferably shortly after so he isn’t hiding them for later discovery. I’ll be sure to have refreshed water for him.

I did have on cat I had to brush their teeth and he may have seen the special brush. Guess we won’t be reusing that.

Yes, we do have a few deer her and at the cottage. I love that he asked you for help figuring out male and female. Your description was fabulous!

Oh that Rumery, he is so clever and remembers that he needs to remind us about including more joy, and enjoy. How clever to point out that he does his job AND has enjoyment. I’m pretty sure this is one of the important lesson his is here to teach you and me.

Rumery did come check with me as your session with him concluded as I was on a call and needed to be reminded to think about preparing real food for supper in between calls.

Hi Barb. Sorry to be a bit late but I have just had another quick chat to Rumery and this is what I recorded:

Me: Would you be able to talk to me now?
Rumery: Of course this is so important, please continue. I have confidence in you, this is very important, I believe in you, I am here for you. I am a master teacher, you are too tense and this is blocking you, relax, trust.

Me: What do you love to do?
Rumery: I love to jump onto a table and bat things off – this sends Barb mad, it is such a laugh. I am very naughty sometimes, it is so funny, I like to lighten things up. Life should NOT be too serious, it should be fun. Although I have a serious role I like to have fun too. That’s my favorite thing, jumping up and just batting things everywhere. I get quite worked up, Barb screams and I just laugh so much. I am always looking for insects to pounce on – they are very amusing and it is part of my job to keep the house clean. See I have a job and I have fun, I am very well balanced, not too serious.

Me: Any other advice for me?
Rumery: Be in your heart, focus on me. That’s all, it’s easy. Focus.

Me: Where do you sleep at night?
Rumery: With Barb of course – where else would I be, I am so important. I am key to Barb’s happiness, her comforter.

Me: What do you dislike?
Rumery: That people don’t realize who I truly am – my intelligence, my purpose. It is very frustrating.

Angela, I’m thrilled you were able to have another chat with Rumery.

Yes Rumery does jump up and knock things off or pushes them to the edge to see if I’ll catch them in time. Sometimes he simply covers the keyboard in a long stretch and pretends to go to sleep to shift my focus rather than be glued to computer. Get my focus onto more important including taking breaks.

Yes, Rumery does sleep with me. After he tells me it is time for bed (ok sometimes it is several attempts) he tucks me in, makes sure I’m settled then does his walk about checking the house. Then returns to bed to be sure I’m still sleeping. If I’m snoring or talking in my sleep he interrupts so I can sleep better, or perhaps sp he can sleep better with less interruptions.

Oh yes, Rumery has very strong opinions when it comes to people who don’t respect all that he is.

Well, yesterday somebody got surly.

While doing our morning journaling, that is I write, Rumery is in my lap providing support, I have a pad on which I write the to dos that come to mind. Well, when I told Rumery that it was a new month and therefore was time for a new FAT to take over, he paused, and then attacked me and grabbed the note pad away from me so I wouldn’t have the reminders to change the FAT. It got calmer. And then I saw him in the hall with his flopping fish and he pointed out “This is all that’s left to me (now that I’m not longer FAT).’ I assured hime that he may continue to hear from students.

then I’ll be back to do desk work which he figured meant changing the FAT which earned me a stink eye.

He’s better today but would love to continue the conversations with you. He and I have both enjoyed the adventures, the learnings, and the laughs.

Thanks for connecting with Rumery. Yes, I took Sunday off line so I was either out for the day with that, or out for my walk enjoying some time I in nature when you spoke with Rumery.
There is a dark cherry cabinet with arch reliefs right next to where he eats his food. And I did watch a light movie that was based in Seattle and there was an image of the Space Needle.

Rumery just got up from a nap to come and include his own hi to you while I type this reply. I’m still getting a bit of a cold shoulder for there being a new FAT but he says hi to Zuri as well along with reminder that he is available to assist should she wish. Hmm, I wonder if there is a FAT club?
