Stacey has volunteered to host her dog, Miss Poppy Powers and less formally known as Poppy, as our next Featured Animal Teacher (FAT). You will enjoy getting to know this wonderful animal teacher. Gold and Platinum members will have an opportunity to connect with Poppy along with Val on the Q&A call Saturday, October 10. We encourage all of you to connect with Poppy now and through out the month.
Tune into Poppy first and see what you sense. It’s not just about getting words although that’s a lot of fun when it happens. Remember that telepathic comes from ‘tele’ meaning over a distance like telephone and television, and ‘pathic’ that comes from pathos. So literally telepathic is emotion over a distance.
How does Poppy feel to you? Happy? Sad? Excited? etc. Ask Poppy ice breaker questions as you might with any new teacher. It’s not about “getting the right answer” but about connecting with a wonderful animal.
Have fun!

Hello Stacey: I tuned into Poppy this morning. She greeted me with a happy barking and wagging her tail. She walked around in a circle and sat at my feet to get pet. I told her who I was and that I was your friend in the Animal Talk Coaching Club. She said she is excited to talk with the humans. I asked her how her body felt and I am afraid I was loosing the connection. I got a sense that she felt good but I don’t know if that was my head or my intuition. I tried staying with her a few more minutes but I didn’t get anymore.
I got a sense that she is a happy dog with exuberant energy. I also got a sense that she is a young dog. Anyway, thank you for sharing her, she is such a pleasure.

Thank you Sally~!
Yes, Poppy is young – just turned 11 months this week.
She does bark some, yet mostly “yips” with a very high pitched yip.
I’d love for everyone’s help in asking her to bark instead of yip. She gets excited and yips at Bella, my 17 year old dog, to get her to play, and Bella doesn’t always want to play, so Poppy yips more and nobody wants to hear that high pitched yip.
Exuberant – yes~! Exactly~! Sometimes too much so.
Her physical tail was docked, yet you can sometimes see her wiggling it. She is a very happy and playful dog.
Physically, as far as I know, she’s very healthy and feels good.
I’d say what you did get was pretty accurate.

Hi Stacy, i’ve just tuned into Poppy, got sense of her wanting me to calm down, go slower, my mind is fast.(does she rush about and sometimes slip ?) I see her playing chewing/gnawing on bone could be a toy. a sense of an ‘itch’ behind right shoulder wonder if its from her proprioceptor sensation of collar ? I get the feeling she likes being brushed slow (even hand massage)with soft ‘something’. nose- likes to take time to sniff -gets ‘lost’ in scents. got ‘7’ how long has she been with you this time around? singing is nice. (do you sing ?).thank you and sorry this seems very jumbled. I will try and tune in again on another day …..- that ‘itch’ comes back ? does she have a flea collar ? I could be way off here -apologies and thank you again Sandra

Hi Stacy,
I have just connected with Poppy….wow, what a bundle of love and joy! She is just filled with the joy of life, I didn’t even get to introduce myself and I got a ‘wanna play?’. We had a short game of chase then I threw a ball for her, she really likes running!
I played a little barking game with her so we were both doing our barks and I said how lovely her bark was but that it was pitched a little high for human ears and it hurt them and asked if she could lower it a bit, she told me this is her excited bark and was really happy about it. I told her again that I understood this and it really is a lovely bark…just a bit too high and that you would really, really like it if she could lower it a bit. We played another game where I growled, she growled and I asked if her bark could come from the deepness of the growl but she told me she isn’t allowed to growl, we discussed this a bit but I’m not sure she really understood what I was trying to say…I was not telling her to growl, just to practice a bit using the growl to give her the right octave for the sound of the bark. She said that she would try but that she gets excited and forgets things easily, if you could find a training word for her and remind her this might help.
She also said she wants to play more, I said that even though I didn’t know you, I’m sure that you have lots of things you have to do so you can’t always play with her all the time. She said she would like to do scent work…is this something you could do with her? (I said I would ask you). She showed me trail scents and finding scents (like things scattered over the floor, the yard, under things that she has to find).
I asked, how do you feel? and I got the word BOUNCY! which made me laugh. I really did feel her bouncy energy…not necessarily her jumping at people just an overall bouncy, joyful energy.Louise

Hi Stacey,
I’m so very new to this. Just signed up for the course. I need to work on calming my mind, but what I got was she is playful and she likes or would like the Frisbee. Thank you for allowing me to connect. I will try to connect later to see what she has to say and when I have practiced more in speaking to animals.

Hi Stacey!
Poppy has Spunk for sure! I see she can be a bit of a challenge for you with her ‘unruliness’ – not that she is a -bad girl- but her mind can be diverted in many different directions. (The word ‘unruly’ in my mind comes from thoughts of a wild red-headed girl with unruly curly hair – a wild child. tee hee hee). Poppy has quite the sense of humor and does funny things to get her humans attention and to get you all to laugh; I see her moving quickly and stopping in quirky positions, then moving and stopping, then circling and barking loudly. Look out on windy days, for I think she will get really twittered then. 🙂
I see her aura as brightly lit with orange and reds strong. She is a fiery soul ready to bring laughter and is quick to protect her loved ones. Her heart is a happy one! I see her as an Angel and an Healer; she can teach you Stacey to expand your awareness to see beyond the surface level of things and see the higher Light in everything and in every situation, especially in those dark times when you might think there is no light – Poppy will be there to help you to find it once again. She is here to show that being heavy in heart really does make us more dense (double meaning).
She is quite smart and I feel it would do her well if she got some discipline training – like obstacle course sort of stuff. Because she has tons of energy, that if not released could turn her to become a ‘bad girl’. Training her to go for daily walks would help appease her ‘exploring’ needs and satiate her adventurous spirit. Is that a frisbee type toy I see in the picture which she looks to be sitting on? I think she is a good jumper and has excellent eye/body coordination.
Yup, she is a wild girl and so filled with Love! Her body is healthy and vibrant and she is content with her life and her family – very much so. I feel she will grow into her years to become a fine, fine healer.
All my love, Pam
Pam, Pammie, Pammie Jean, Pamela.... you can call me any of these names.

Hello Stacey:
I am so happy that what I got recently was accurate. I just tuned into Poppy. I started talking with her and asked if she has a few minutes to chat with me. She said sure. I asked her what she was doing and she said she is trying to get your attention to go play frisbee. At that point, my pony in spirit, Roy, came in as well. I was rather surprised and didn’t know how to manage having both in the conversation so asked Poppy if she minded if I talk more with her on the Q & A call. She said that would be fine. I don’t know if she plays with a frisbee but I just got an impression of one and wonder if that was a correct hit. Thanks Stacey! I hope you all have a great day. Thanks Poppy.

Hi Stacey,
Thank you for offering Poppy as the FAT. I sense she’s a sweetie and a real Love bug. When I started the conversation, she gave me kisses on my face-nose and lips I think. I said something like, “You’re a real sweetie.” She said something like, “And a Love bug, too.”She said, “I like to curl up with my Mama-in bed at night and on the couch”. “She the bestest and my favorite person!” I also got that Poppy likes it when you two have mornings where you don’t have to get up early and work and you can stay in bed longer.
I also got that while she is a sweet girl and a Love bug that she is also rather protective of you and where you two live.
I also heard, “cat”. Have her (you) tell you about the cat. I sense she likes this cat.
“Red car” also came to me.
Poppy also asked me if I wanted to play a game. I asked her what game. It’s a game where I have a ball and she chases me and I hide and then I give her the ball or put it down for her to get and then she runs and I chase her and I’m not clear if she hides or not. She also said she likes to swim. We’re going to play now. She said, “It’s a red ball.” She also told me to not worry that I’ll be able to run a long time. It’s fun-the game we’re playing! I noticed that I was running like a dog and then I noticed I was a dog. I heard Poppy telling me that she made me that way. I thanked her and told her I liked being like that. I guess she turned me back into a person and told me that I’d still be able to run fast.
She just told me to stop and to put the toy on the ground. She told me to close my eyes. She’s getting the toy and told me to open them. Now she’s running and I’m chasing her. Now we’re in water. She said she Loves to swim!
She said she’s tired now and is going to take a nap and that she’ll talk to me later-on Saturday. I told her okay and thanked her for talking with me and teaching me the great game and said it’s, “Wooftastic!” Then she started howling and barking! Then she did a little circle dance 🙂 I said for her to enjoy her nap and that I look forward to talking with her on Saturday. She gave me kisses and I petted her head and gave me a kiss. Love to Poppy!

I just connected with Poppy. He is looking forward to the call tomorrow. We discussed that briefly. My cat Roxy is having digestive problems so I asked Poppy if he could help me with Roxy, maybe he could connect with him since I seemed unable to. What happened was wonderful – when Poppy connected to Roxy for me I was able to connect with Rosy and discuss his health issues with him. Many thanks, Poppy. I told Poppy I would check in with him after the call to see how it went for him.

hi Stacey,
I tuned in with Poppy around 12:15pm pacific time today. Thank you for the opportunity.1-connecting/Personality: she is curious, yet I felt like she is shy, she is trying to contain her excitement by curling into herself in a skittish way. while I was connecting an elderly dog shows up, he is wanted to be part of this conversation, he is keeping an eye on Poppy. he looks like he has a long nose and I felt like he would be tricolor, not sure what species?
2-Do you meet with other dogs? I go to the store with Stacey and meet other animals there. It also felt like she was going to work with you? and she meets other people/animal there?
3- What do you love to do? running and chasing, I see her chasing some toys in the house along the wall.
4-dislikes? to be cold, i hear she has some paw slippers!!
5- where she sleeps at night? she sleeps in her own bed
6- Advice for Stacey? learn to manage frustration and anger, hummm! wonder if she was giving me advice here… it applies to me!
this is what I got so far, wonder if some of the stuff I heard is made up… oh well here it is.
Will appreciate some feedback, thank you. Berenice -

Here are some of the things that Poppy and I are working on:
When she’s outside, I would prefer that she not yip and jump and scratch at the door. I’m well aware that she’d prefer to be inside, yet sometimes, she and the other dogs need to stay outside, and I’d prefer she not yip and jump/scratch at the door.
I’d love for her to cuddle with me in my chair more often – she stays nearby, yet doesn’t sit with me that often.
I do need her to be “polite” and not scratch at my arm when I’m working on computer – we’re working on being “polite” – that she simply touch my leg and I’ll give her loves, scratches and attention.
I’d love to play “fetch” with her more often. She goes to get the toy, yet she never brings it all the way back to me. She stays about 4 ft away, so I can’t reach the toy and throw it to her again. I’d really like for her to bring it to me and put it in my hand, so we can keep playing. (I have some physical limitations)
Walking on a leash – if she would walk nicely on a leash, she could go lots of places and have more adventures, play more and smell new things. Right now, she won’t walk on the leash at all.
Thank you to everyone that is talking with Poppy. I’ll answer your postings after class.

Platinum MemberYes, Poppy does love to run and yes, she does run and slide and slip in the house.
Yes, she loves to play and chew on the toys and bones that are for the dogs.
Poppy often presents her left shoulder for me to scratch – it seems to be her favorite place for me to scratch her.
The only collar she wears is a nylon collar – we don’t have fleas here on my land, thank Heavens~!
I do pet her as often as I can; I love the feel of her luxurious, soft coat.
7 is how many months I’ve had her – she was 4 months when I brought her home, and she’s 11 months old now.
The dogs’ yard is VERY big – like a 5 car garage big, and we’re on 4 acres, so the dogs can see a long way. I’m sure there are interesting smells because of all the “critters” that come around. This time? Has Poppy been with me before? In my present lifetime, or a prior lifetime? I’d love to know.
I do sing along with the radio in the car, yet Poppy hasn’t been on a car ride with me since I brought her home. Now and then I sing along with something on the TV or computer.Thank you Sandra

ParticipantHi Louise,
Yes, Poppy does love to play and fetch~! She is a joy filled pup who does love to run~!
Thank you for working with her about her bark – I truly appreciate that.
She does get excited easily, and she has a hard time controller herself for the first 5-10 minutes when she first comes back inside, which is a normal thing – it’s fun to watch her run and act crazy for a few minutes – she makes me laugh~! I get the “excited bark” thing – she definitely does that~!
Barking game was a great idea~!
She said that she would try but that she gets excited and forgets things easily – yes~!
I’ll work on finding the right training word.
I’ve done tracking training in the past – got a TD title on one of our dogs. If Poppy would walk on a leash, I’d be happy to try tracking with her. My land isn’t fenced, so she’d have to be on a long line.
We have deer that visit often, and I’m sure Poppy’d love to go smell their track/scent. She does spend some time in the yard finding things under the leaves.
Yes~! Exactly~! She does have an overall bouncy, joyful energy.Thank you~!

Hi Stacey
thanks for featuring Poppy. She is amazing. I feel a very puppy-like playful energy. When I approached her, she was dancing and jumping. she feels extremely high energy with a huge aura in vibrant mostly orange and brownish red colors. She is very outgoing and very loving, once she got to know someone. Her voice is high pitched, a puppy like yelping.
Her message: Let me be a puppy for a little while longer, I will grow up early enough.
Her purpose: teach Stacey to remain child-like, investigate, play, love your life, have fun. -

Hi,
During the call I was following what Val was saying and so I don’t get much but i did get the following info:
Connecting with her; She is keeping her distance, she is cautious, it showed me that this is the way she will be with people!
She communicates more as a clairvoyant sending images
She does not like to be touch
This is all I got, I would like to pursuit the why she does not like to be touch, something happened to make her feel this way…
Thank you -

Hi, Stacy & Poppy! Gosh, Poppy feels so bright and young and fresh to me. Her white fur feels softer to touch. She’s so happy to be alive in this young, healthy body, but she has a sage soul. I saw a pink, yellow, white aura? She has a penchant for running, “chasing butterflies” is what I wrote. Then I heard the Q & A circle mention ‘frisbee’, which matches her inclination to run. I see her doing tricks and adjusting behaviors based on treats. I sense she’s smart to ‘sit’ and stand in order to get a treat, so it seems to align with what the group was saying about giving her direction. I’m still learning how to meet them where they’re at, so this is all I got. Thank you for sharing this beautiful soul. Her picture made me smile!

Pamela Ferarese
Platinum MemberHi Pam,
Yes, Poppy is spunky and funny and very entertaining~! Wild child is a pretty good description of her when she first come back into the house – she runs all over everywhere, can’t focus on anything except being excited and running.
Yes, the toy you see in the photo is about 6″ around, has a squeaker, and kind of looks like a Frisbee; she really likes it. More than a few people mentioned Frisbee, so I guess I’ll have to get her one.
I have some physical limitations right now, so she’s not been getting the training I’d like for her to have. I do believe she would make a great agility dog – most of her bloodline have been agility dogs. She’s clearly got working dog abilities.
Thank you for your insights.

Hello Poppy, I’m Barb. I’m in the animal communication class. We are all here connecting with you today. Is there something you want to tell us?
Poppy: Work on your love for yourself.
Barb: That is good. Do you have a way of doing this?
Poppy: What you just did—send love to yourself. Just like you did to Dee Dee. I just felt Dee Dee’s presence. She just received all your love. She is so happy to be out of that sick body. Tell Kathy she is there more present than ever she could be in that sick body.
Barb: Thank You Poppy. You are a healer and so sensitive and perceptive and slightly insecure.
Poppy: Yes when Stacy is still and calm and holding the ball of golden energy and love we are an amazing team. And when she stays in that golden loving place and leaves everything else, the illusion of this physical world, she can connect with the truth. I will be able to heal the past(Poppy’s past) when she (Stacy)does this.
Barb: Thank You Poppy. I will share this with the group.PS: In my next connection with Poppy I’ll see if she wants to check out what needs healing from the past or whether it will heal as Stacy grows and heals.

Hi Stacey,
Shortly after I first connected with Poppy she started running around in circles. lol. She says, “It’s fun!” She also said you don’t particularly care for it at times.I asked her how she liked the call on Saturday. She said she liked it and that while she’s young, she’s also wise. “Mucho wisdom!”
I asked Poppy what the meaning of life is to her. She said, “To serve others and be happy and make others happy.” “Happy should be/is my middle name!” “I am the happiest dog on the planet!” “I can cheer anyone up when they’re down. No challenge too big for me! Poppy the Master to the rescue!” I told her I Love her confidence.
Her level of confidence sparked me to answer the question about how I can feel more confident. I’ll see what she says— “Accept. Understand. Have friends and family. Have Love. Peace. Trial and Error-if you try something and it isn’t right or doesn’t work, it’s all good-don’t worry about it-you gained information.”
“Thank you, Poppy. I’ll try at least some of these things.”I asked Poppy what she’s doing right now. It’s Tuesday the 13th at 4:26 PM PST. She said it’s 7:30 PM where she is and that she’s chewing/gnawing on a bone. She said it’s important for her teeth so the ones coming in don’t bother her so much.
Me: What’s your favorite thing to do, Miss Poppy?
Poppy: To Love and be Loved. And I Love you, Martha!
Me: Awwww. (I gave her a kiss on the head and she looked up at me and smiled). Thank you, Poppy. I Love you, too, sweet girl.Poppy: Gotta go now! Thanks for chatting! I enjoy talking to the humans and sharing my wisdom! Have a great evening!
Me: Okay. Thanks for chatting with me! I enjoy talking with you, too. You have a great evening, too!

Hi Sally,
I finally saw the “reply” button, so it’s much easier to reply to your comment. In one of the photos, you can see a yellow toy. It is about 6: round with a smiley face on it – that is the closest thing to a Frisbee we have. Since so many people have mentioned Frisbee, I’m going to check with her breeder to see if Poppy played with a Frisbee there. I’ll probably get her one soon.
Thank you~!

Hi Klaudia,
Thank you for talking with Poppy. Yes, she is a fairly high energy puppy (11 months old). Yes, her voice is very high pitched and she’s a little too fond of yipping and yelping. There’s only a few times I’ve heard her actually bark.
I appreciate you giving me the message to let her be a puppy a little while longer – it’s true, she will grow up soon enough.
I love that she shared her purpose. I do tend to be a little too serious sometimes and it would be good for me to play and enjoy life more. I love fun, so I need to have some more of it~!
Thank you~!

Hi Berenice,
Yes, unfortunately, Poppy is reluctant to approach people and let them touch her. She’s a “covid kid” – in other words, she hasn’t been able to be socialized because she’s at home with me during quarantine. She’s gotten to see a few people, yet she isn’t inclined to allow them to pet her – yet.
Yes, she doesn’t seem to like to be touched. Sometimes, she’ll approach someone if she can touch them, but the minute they try to touch her, she backs off and sometimes, even runs or scrambles really fast to get away from them. I’m hoping she will grow out of that stage or issue. Yes, exploring that with her would be a great thing~!It’s good to know she communicates in pictures.
I’m clairaudient, and not clairvoyant, so in the past, I was concerned about being able to “get it” when an animal sends in pictures. Then, I learned about the “magic translator box” – the concept is that the animal sends however they want, and the translator box sends the info to us, however we want/need to receive the info. I was then better able to receive the info from an animal. Please feel free to continue to talk with Poppy and explore what her issue is with being touched and with approaching people.
Thank you,
Stacey -

Hi Judy,
Yes, her white fur is a bit softer, less course than her black fur. It’s good to know she’s an old soul – I’m sure that’s what I felt when I first saw her photo. I wasn’t even looking for a new dog, yet when I saw her photo, I got that AWWWWWWWWWWWWWW feeling and simply knew, deep down, that she was meant to be mine. The breeder is a long time friend (30+ years) of mine, so I knew she would have been well bred and raised right.
Yes, she loves to run, both inside the house and outside. The kennel area is really large – about a 5 car garage size, with dirt, a deck and a ramp. She’ll run from outside, up the ramp, across the deck, thru the doggy door, and all the way thru the house – all in one long run~!
Yes, her breeder taught her to sit and wait before going into her crate for her meals, yet forgot to tell me that, LOL. It took a couple of days for me to “get it”, then I called her breeder and she confirmed that Poppy was already trained to sit and wait for “OK” to then go eat, so I’ve kept up that practice. LOL – it’s probably one of the only times Poppy can control her exuberance~!
Thank you,
Stacey -

Hi Barb,
Thank you for sharing Poppy’s message to work on loving ourselves – I think we can all use that message~!
I love that Poppy was also able to bring you messages from the other animals who had crossed over~!
One of the things that I had felt with Poppy was that part of our purpose together is to help others to heal, in whatever form that takes.
I’ll work with Poppy to help her to heal whatever needs to be healed from her past. I’ll connect with her breeder to see if she’s aware of anything specific in this lifetime. I expect it may be from a prior lifetime.
Thank you,
Stacey -

Hi Martha,
Yes, Poppy is quite happy to run – circles, straight, etc. She just loves to run~!The part I don’t care for is when her run ends with her jumping up on me and bouncing off my body – it hurts. I’ve tried to explain to her that it hurts. I do enjoy watching her antics, as long as she’s not creating pain in my body.
Poppy speaking Spanish made me chuckle~! My daughter lives in Guatemala, is fluent in Spanish and has been here visiting for 2-3 months, so I’m sure she hears that. I also speak some Spanish. I’m glad Poppy is a wise soul – I’m sure that will help when we do our healing work. I’m not quite sure what form that will take, yet I feel that is our purpose together – even if it is only to heal each other. Yet, I feel it is something bigger in the world – like we go visit children so they can play with her – I don’t know what form yet, and we’ll see.
I’m happy that Poppy is happy and a happy dog~! She certainly makes me happy – she’s very entertaining, and the timing of her coming to me right at the start of covid was divine timing – she has made being alone even easier to bear.
I’m glad she showed you a lot of confidence. I’m just hoping that we can get that to translate into her being happy and confident around other people. Right now, she’s reluctant to approach people and let them pet her.
I think Poppy’s message of “if you try something and it isn’t right or doesn’t work, it’s all good-don’t worry about it-you gained information.” is a great message for many of us.
Poppy’s now 11.5 months old, so I’m sure new teeth coming thru has been an issue for a while. She has many things to chew with a wide variety of textures. She has beautiful teeth and a great bite. (proper teeth alignment) (That’s the dog breeder/trainer/show person coming out in me, LOL)
Loving and being loved go right along with being HAPPY~!
Thank you~!

Hello Classmates~!
Something VERY unusual happened about a week before our class talked with Poppy – around the beginning of the month. I was wondering if it would come up in the conversations with Poppy and it didn’t, so I thought I’d ask y’all to check in with Poppy and see if you can get her to tell you about it.
She was active in this unusual thing that happened.
Let’s see who gets it~!

Hi Poppy, is now a good time to chat together? You are the Featured Animal Teacher this month and I’d love to talk with you. How does now sound?
Oh very good! I’m enjoying a nice lay down at the moment. Relaxing and getting ready for slumber.
I love how you talk. Slumber is a word I might use.
Yes, I know…ha ha!
Poppy, you sound like you are quite a funny girl, you have a sense of humour.
That I do!
That’s wonderful. We all need to laugh. Thanks for the laughter my friend.
You’re very welcome! How can I help you today?
Well, is there anything that you would like to let me know at this time? Maybe something I can help you with or something I can share to tell your mom on your behalf?
Mom understands me. She allows me to be me which I am very grateful for. If I couldn’t be me, I wouldn’t be happy. So I am very happy that she loves me for who I am.
That’s really nice to hear Poppy.
Yes. Also, I am working on some of my energy. I tend to get over excited sometimes. It’s hard to calm down when this happens. I can feel it from mom how it can make her or others anxious. I want to work on this. Ways I can calm down. You see, it feels like I’m a puppy and I feel like I have puppy energy. Having time to run and play helps me tucker out. When I sleep, I really sleep deep when I’m given a chance to expel this energy I feel inside.
I can understand that sweet girl. Maybe you can give me some of your energy…lol. I’ve been feeling tiredness lately but also hard to sleep deep.
You should move more. Walking, moving and stretching your muscles. It will help you Marybeth, I promise.
Thank you Poppy. I know you know best for me. I can feel it.
Maybe I can ask your mom if there is any questions she would like me to ask you. Would that be alright with you Poppy?
Sure, yes, absolutely.
Okay, thanks for this chat together sweetie. You are beautiful.

Hi Stacey, thank you for this gift of talking with Poppy. Are there any specific questions you would like me to ask her for you?Marybeth

Hi Stacey,
I was able to connect with Poppy for a few minutes just now and here is the information I received. Please let me know if anything seems accurate.
I connected with her and asked if it was a good time to talk. Right away I felt my energy get more excited and saw that she had come to see me. I asked her what she was doing and she said that she was gated in the kitchen because you were trying to work and she was being bad. I saw an image of her moving around excitedly and putting her paws up on the gate wanting to get out. I asked her if she had a favorite toy and she showed me an image of a yellow toy that she grabbed in her mouth and was shaking violently from side to side and having a great time. She seemed to be bounding with energy.
In my body I felt some sensations that weren’t there before I started the communication. I felt a lot of buzzing energy in my front arms and my heart rate was a little more rapid. I also noticed that my throat constricted a little and I started to feel a little tension/pain in the back of my neck. If felt to me like all of the energy was in the top part of my body and not much activity was happening in the lower half of my body. I asked Poppy if she felt grounded and she said not really. I’m wondering if she would benefit from some energy work to balance the energy in her body and bring it down from her head.
One other thing I forgot to mention…I asked her if she had any messages for you or me and she told said that humans worry too much and she knows that everything will turn out ok. We all need to stop worrying so much.
I look forward to hearing some feedback. I tried connecting with her on the group call last week, but I didn’t feel like what I received was very accurate based on what others shared about their experiences with her.

Hi Lindsey,
Thank you for connecting with Poppy – it seems as if you get empathic messages – good for you~!In the mornings, I put the dogs outside for a few hours so they can do their business, and hang out in nature. There is a door, with a closed doggy door, when they’re outside. Usually the only time they are crated is when they’re sleeping, or if someone’s visiting and I can’t have the dogs running around loose.
Yes, Poppy is a very high energy dog and she does love that yellow “frisbee” type toy in the photo with her – she does shake it violently sometimes. I also bought her a couple new toys yesterday – they aren’t here yet. Bounding with energy is a great way to describe Poppy – she literally and figuratively does that.
Poppy’s still a puppy, and I’m sure she’s bored sometimes. She isn’t walking on a leash very well yet (I’ve had some issues with walking myself) I got her a new harness and long line, so I can take her outside the dog yard and onto the 4 acres so she can explore. I’ve tried to explain to her that she needs to walk on the leash before she can go exploring. My daughter is visiting and would take her for me, yet Poppy won’t walk with her (or me either, most of the time) It’s something we’re working on.
I’ll try doing some Reiki on Poppy and see if that helps to ground her.
Thank you,
Stacey -

Hi Marybeth,
It sounds like you had a great conversation with Poppy. She often does things that make me laugh, and I often tell her she is very funny~! I appreciate her antics and the laughter she brings – I love to laugh, and, perhaps, she’s laughing right along with me?
I’m delighted to know that she feels that I understand her and that she is comfortable here and being able to just be Poppy. It just came to me that must be the reason I named her Poppy – she pops up all the time~! (I picked her name long before I actually met her in person – just based on her photo)
Yes, Poppy definitely has lots of energy, and I can tell when she’s trying to control it enough to settle down a bit. When she first comes in from outside, she runs all crazy everywhere, grabs every toy she can find, and just generally acts like a nut. I give her the time and space to do so – that’s part of Poppy being Poppy. Then, after about 5 minutes, she settles a bit, yet still wanting to play. It’s good to know Poppy is working on being less over-excited – I can tell she is.
Just last night, Poppy and Apollo came running in from outside all excited and racing each other. I encouraged her/them to keep running. Apollo was done, Poppy ran a bit more. I do enjoy seeing her exuberance – within reason.
I love how Poppy was giving you suggestions – it’s good advice for us all~!
I made a posting with some of the things I’m working on with Poppy and some of the issues. If you can talk with her about any of them – that would be great~!
I would REALLY like it if she would trust my daughter Kelly enough to walk with her and to let Kelly pet her. Kelly is willing to take Poppy out to explore our land and the lake, yet that would require Poppy to walk well on a leash, since the land isn’t fenced and Poppy is just a pup that doesn’t always come when called.
Poppy LOVES to swim, and she could swim in the big lake if she wanted to and would walk on a leash. I have a new 30 ft leash coming that would allow her some more freedom, yet still have her on a leash. Our land is 4 acres with a lake, so it’s like a big, UNfenced dog park. I’d love to be able to use more of it with the dogs.
Kelly’s visit here is coming to an end – probably at the end of Oct – so there is some urgency for Poppy to be willing to work with Kelly so she can go exploring with Kelly. Right now, I can’t walk that far.
Thank you very much~!
Stacey

Hello Stacey:
I tuned into Poppy and asked her what happened a few weeks ago per your request. She told me that you and she were walking and that she saw another dog on a leash and growled at it. I asked Poppy why she growled at the other dog and she told me she was protecting you. I don’t have a sense that anything bad happened. I almost deleted this because I have doubts that this actually occurred but then though, this is what I got so just post it. Thanks for talking with me Poppy!
Thank you Stacey

Hi Sally,
Thanks for talking with Poppy. Yes, she does tend to be protective of me in general – like barking when someone is at the door.
She doesn’t walk on a leash yet, so, no, we weren’t walking together. She may see neighborhood dogs on a leash and think/pretend/imagine she’s doing the same thing.
It’s good that you posted it – you got the protective part right.
The thing that happened was such a surprise to me. I’m going to wait to share it to see if anyone gets it.
Thank you,
Stacey -

Thank you so much for your feedback.
If you would not mind going back to a post I did before the Saturday call? I posted what I got then.
I connected with Poppy and would be grateful to know what I got right and what I got wrong to help me figure out what happened during my conversation with Poppy. It will be most helpful to know. Thank you again
I will connect again after this response to figure it out. -

Hello Stacey,
here’s what I got from talking with Poppy:
I got shiny violet in her aura. She’s very sweet natured, shy/guarded with people she doesn’t know. She likes people to approach slowly and gently then she can come towards them when she’s ready. But when she’s at ease she is playful, confident and excited.
I asked her her job: to look after my mum. She loves to chase a blue ball.
She is very loving. She has a lot of feminine wisdom. She also has a quick sense of humour.
I asked her for tips on Animal Communication: She said: you are all here to make a difference. Follow your intuitive guidance. It’s ok to be shy. Be yourself. It’s nice for everyone to be different and be together. You have to take your place on the stage. Take responsibility. This isn’t heavy, this is life, it can be fun. Play with others. No one judges you like you judge yourself. Express yourself. Your sense of fun and creativity need to have an outlet.
I was struggling to keep up my concentration at this point so I thanked her. She said: You didn’t ask me much – with a sense of mischief and humour. She’s bouncing around with energy – she loves life.
Thank you STacey – what a treat to chat with Poppy! I’ll definitely be back.

Hi Berenice,
I simply didn’t see this post until you pointed it out. My apologies.
Yes, Poppy is curious and shy. For example, she likes to go into my daughter’s room, yet, even after 3 months, she won’t let Kelly approach or pet her. According to Poppy, it’s ok if Poppy approaches Kelly, just not Kelly approaching Poppy.
Yes, she does get very excited at times, and yes, sometimes, she curls her body to one side or the other – almost as if she’s trying to be smaller.
Poppy is a miniature Australian Shepherd. I have two blue/tan Australian TERRIERS – they are black and tan. Apollo is the male, 7 years old – he’s been showing Poppy “the ropes” as far as how to be in our home/yard. Apollo’s nose is more a normal length and shorter than Poppy’s. You can see some good Australian Terriers at this link: benayraustralianterriers.com/ This is the breeder I got my first ones from.
I recently took Apollo to town with me to pick up a couple curbside orders – Poppy may be imagining that she went too. I did that on purpose so he could tell Poppy all about it. I’ve been telling her about all the things she would get to do if she would just walk on a leash. Her new harness and long lead (30′) arrived yesterday.
She won’t walk on a leash yet, so she hasn’t left the property since she arrived. I would like to be able to take Poppy with me. I’m also concerned about her barfing on the car ride – she did that when I picked her up from the breeder – fortunately not in my car. I would love for her to meet other dogs and become more socialized.
I love to play fetch with my dogs, and Poppy is the only one who plays with me. She’ll run and go get the toy, yet she doesn’t bring it all the way back to me. Yes, she loves to chase the toys and sometimes, I throw a toy down the hallway.
Thanks for the info that she doesn’t like to be cold. It’s been 80-100 here for months, so maybe the A/C is too much for her – I usually keep the house at 76. She doesn’t have any paw slippers. When she lets me, sometimes I’ll hold her feet, which would warm them.
Yes, she sleeps in her own crate at night.
Yes, I would agree that the anger/frustration advice is for you.
Thank you,
Stacey -

Hi Rosemary,
Yes, Poppy is very sweet natured, and she is shy/guarded with people she doesn’t know. She likes people to approach slowly and gently then she can come towards them when she’s ready. But when she’s at ease she is playful, confident and excited. Yes, this is quite accurate.
Yes, Poppy will chase most any toy. We do have a couple of tennis balls that are partly blue. We have more red or regular yellow tennis balls than blue ones. Yesterday, I got a “chuck it” toy to throw the balls with – it was really fun for me, and I think Poppy liked it too. Sometimes, she doesn’t know where a ball goes and, unfortunately, I’m the one who has to fetch it, LOL.
I love that she thinks/knows her job is look after me. Just this morning, she was barking at the deer family that was visiting. I explained to her that I LIKE the deer and that she didn’t need to bark at them. Ask her what happened about 2 weeks ago. I’m still waiting for someone to come up with it. (big grin)
She has been MUCH better about NOT doing things that hurt me, like digging on my arm, jumping on my body and bouncing off my tummy. I’ve built in the word polite. When she approaches me more gently and politely, she is rewarded with 100% of my attention and scratches and pets for quite a while – this seems to be working. She’s a puppy, and sometimes she gets too excited and/or forgets to be gentle and she seems to understand when I tell her not to hurt me.
Yes, Poppy is very loving.
That’s good to know about her feminine wisdom. I’ve been working on staying in my feminine energy much more.
Yes, Poppy is very entertaining and quite funny – I often tell her she’s funny. Yes, I would agree that she has a quick sense of humor.
To me, this is very good advise that Poppy shared: “I asked her for tips on Animal Communication: She said: you are all here to make a difference. Your sense of fun and creativity need to have an outlet.”
I know from my own life that giving yourself that creative outlet is so important~! I’m delighted that my daughter, who is an equine photographer and website designer and spends much of her work time on the computer, has also started a business of up-cycling leather reins, saddles, belts, etc into new items like purses, cell phone cases, hip pouches, etc. She intuitively KNEW she needed to balance the computer time/work with that creative time/work.
Sounds like Poppy was teasing you~! Yes, she alternately is bouncing/running/jumping with high energy, then she crashes. When she sleeps, she sleeps hard. Yes, she does appear to love life~!
You’re welcome, and please do talk with Poppy any time you’d like. She is really enjoying talking with all our classmates, and I believe it is helping her to be less shy also.
Thank you.

Hi Stacy, I just had a chat with Poppy about not really liking being touched and she said no, she doesn’t really like it, if feels like people are invading her space. She is happy to go near people and sniff them but that doesn’t give them an automatic right to touch her and put their scent on her.
She said that you have told her that she cannot bounce off you because it hurts your body but that when people touch her, without her having given permission, it hurts her emotionally, like she is an object and anyone can just touch her and she doesn’t have the right to say know.
This seems to be quite a problem for her at the moment and she just wants to stay out of reach of people.
As for the incident you mentioned, I couldn’t really get anything coherent(I am clairvoyant) I got a jumble of images that I couldn’t make head nor tail of, I got a feeling of fear and excitement (not a nice feeling), I would say masculine energy, maybe a red plaid shirt, arms, maybe some legs, a big stick all mixed together. It is all such a mess I really don’t know what I saw.
I did mention again to her about her barking and she said that mostly she forgot to keep her bark deep so I asked her to try the best she can.-

The surprise that showed up in my yard was a small herd of cattle~! One bull (masculine energy) and he was red and black, two cows, one white and one red and white (hereford) and two calves, the same colors as their moms.
I can see why it showed up as a confusing bundle of energy – the cattle were moving around, Poppy was barking like a mad woman~! I think she saw the cattle and knew, instinctively, that they were part of her “job” here – she is an Australian Shepherd, a herding breed, and those working instincts are fairly hard wired into well bred dogs. She just wanted to herd them~!
About a month after that, I noticed Poppy trying to herd my daughter, Kelly – she followed her and nipped at her heels, like herding dogs are known to do.

Thank you for taking the time to confirm some of my observations, Stacey! It’s one of the first risks I’ve taken in these courses, and I was able to share it on my Accountability game this week. It gives me new confidence in this process.
It’s been a learning pleasure going through all of these posts, too, and I love reading how far these communications can go!
Good luck with grounding Poppy and sifting her jubilant energy elsewhere off your body! 😉 -

Hi Stacey. Thank you for offering Poppy as the Featured Animal Teacher for October. I tried to connect with Poppy and asked a few questions as follows:
Q: What do you love to do?
A: I love to play be running around. I like to run after a small red ball on grass in the garden. I am very energetic. I jump up and hit the ball with my nose. I like to entertain everyone. I am the joker. My life is fun, I am all about play and fun.
I also like to herd things, I herd people. I also like to snuggle with mum (on a pinky beige settee).Q: Are there any other dogs in your house?
A: Yes we have quite a menagerie here, but it’s all about me today.Q: Where do you sleep at night?
A: I don’t sleep in Stacey’s bedroom. We dogs sleep together in a separate room. We each have our own crates in a separate room.Q: Do you go for any walks?
A: Yes I go on my own with mum, not with the other dogs.I got the impression that the walks were across a wide open grassy space, a heath with brown bracken and boulders. You would use something like a tennis racket or throw aid to throw a very bouncy blue rubber ball that Poppy would retrieve.
Any feedback would be great. Thank you and best wishes. Angela

Hi Louise,
Thank you for talking with Poppy again.
I appreciate you sharing Poppy’s perspective on the touching thing – I had been thinking it was simply due to not being well enough socialized. I’ll just ask people to let her come to them and not try to pet her for now. It’s interesting about “putting their scent” on Poppy – I wouldn’t have thought about that. Perhaps she’s extra sensitive to people smells.
As far as what happened, a mixture of fear and excitement would totally fit – Poppy saw something she’d never seen here, and perhaps not at her breeder’s home either. No clothing articles.
Thank you for reminding her about her bark. Last night – she looked right at me and yipped repeatedly, even with my telling/asking her to not do so. She kept it up for way too long – I think she was trying to get Bella (17 yrs old) to play with her. I tried to divert her attention by getting her to play with me – no dice~! She wanted what she wanted~!
Thank you,
Stacey -

Hi Judy,
Thank you for participating. It’s my/our pleasure to respond. As us humans are prone to enjoy validation, I’m happy to do so for our classmates – it just makes it so much more fun and helps us in our learning process. I’m glad you’re feeling more confident – practice helps for sure, and getting the feedback helps even more~!
As with all puppies, it’s a process. I do enjoy the energy and excitement she brings to our household.
Thank you,

Hi Angela,
Q: What do you love to do?
A: I love to play be running around. I like to run after a small red ball on grass in the garden. I am very energetic. I jump up and hit the ball with my nose. I like to entertain everyone. I am the joker. My life is fun, I am all about play and fun.
I also like to herd things, I herd people. I also like to snuggle with mum (on a pinky beige settee).Yes, the above is accurate, except the couch and my recliner are both a darker green.
Q: Are there any other dogs in your house?
A: Yes we have quite a menagerie here, but it’s all about me today. The “all about me” is a clue to Poppy’s sense of humor, and perhaps her ego, too. There are 3 dogs here. Poppy, 11 months, Apollo, 7 years and Bella, 17 years.
Q: Where do you sleep at night?
A: I don’t sleep in Stacey’s bedroom. We dogs sleep together in a separate room. We each have our own crates in a separate room. This is accurate – the most accurate answer to the sleeping situation I’ve had.
Q: Do you go for any walks?
A: Yes I go on my own with mum, not with the other dogs.I think this is in her imagination, or she sees it from my thoughts – I would love to be able to walk better now, and I’d love to have Poppy walk on a leash properly – she doesn’t at all right now – we’re working on that. If we did go for a walk, it would be only one dog at a time.
I got the impression that the walks were across a wide open grassy space, a heath with brown bracken and boulders. You would use something like a tennis racket or throw aid to throw a very bouncy blue rubber ball that Poppy would retrieve.
I wish we could do that. I do have 4 acres, mostly mowed grass, with some shrubs and trees around the perimeter, and with a really big lake – no boulders, yet there is a dam for the lake. I just bought a “chuck it” – it is fun to use, yet I can only use it in the kennel area. Poppy doesn’t walk on a leash yet, and she doesn’t always come when called. With no fencing, I can’t just have her loose on the land – I’d love to get to that point.
Thank you,
Stacey -

hi Stacey,
No problem, I could tell that you somehow miss one of my post. Thank you so much for taking the time to respond and thank you for the tip about the magic translator box, I will try it next time I get stuck with an animal that do not speak exactly the same language so I can receive it.
interesting I saw a long nose… maybe it met he was putting his nose into our business… LOL.
ok good to know about the color revisiting what I really saw…
will also revisit why I got that she goes to the store with you???
thank you for your feedback, super helpful!

Hi Stacey,
I connected with Poppy a little while ago to see what is going on with the fact that she does not like to be touch.
what I got:
right away I feel a natural mistrust: I feel a stress in her nervous system and it creates a malcircuit along or in her spine. i am trying to release the tension but It is not releasing, I am not able to get to it, it is telling me that she needs a live interaction with a person to help her release this stress in her physiology, i am not able to do it energetically at this time. if you could find a good intuitive massage therapist that will be excellent. I can see her in my head lying down and she will be able to release with the help of this person. (If I was close by I would come to your house to help Poppy, it has happen to me one time where the animal wanted me to be there in person and we were able to release a big stress, it was beautiful)i am asking questions furthermore and also trying to give her an energetic tail, does not seem to work, I feel that the tail docking was a big issue and part of her problem, plus she seems to remember these big hands causing her pain. So now there is a memory but also a discomfort when being touch. When this stress is released she will be able to calm down, ground better and it feels that the yipping is a cry for help, “help me something is not right”! (I had a similar experience with a dog’s client who started barking and barking so she called me to ask what is going on and he had a medical issue that needed to be addressed and then He stop barking after our conversation because the owner knew now that he needed to go to the vet)
I think you mention that she will need to be spayed soon? in my opinion I would resolved the touching issue first and release this tension before she got touch again with stranger’s hands that will cause her pain again. It might be a good idea to have a session with Val to see if she can do something with Poppy?
This is what came through for me, it will be interesting to have this confirmed with another student and also see what you feel. Hope this is helpful.

Hi Bereniece,
I will do some Reiki and red light therapy on Poppy along her spine. Lately, she seems to be better, so maybe she worked out what was bothering her. She does run, slide and smash into walls and furniture in her exuberance – she may have just whacked herself to cause an issue, then whacked it back into place herself.
I can also do some massage on her if she stay still long enough to allow me to work on her. I do give her little massages one area at a time when I’m petting her – she seems to really like that.
Just last night, I saw Poppy wagging her tail (nub) and I told her I could see her wagging her tail.
All 3 of my dogs needed a bath, yet I wasn’t able to physically do it myself, so my neighbor boys came over to give them a bath. Poppy did amazingly well with them. I stayed with her for the first few minutes, and it all went really well.
Just that last couple of weeks, she’s much more accepting of people. I think partly from growing up – she’s 13 months now, and partly because she knows I really want her to be friendly with people who are invited to our home.
You brought up a good point about her being spayed. I’m not in any particular hurry to get her spayed, and that will give me time to work with her more. The more people that she’s met has helped too.
Thank you~!

Hi Stacy,
I just had another chat with Poppy and asked her why she yipped at you when you asked her not to. She said that she NEEDS to work, she really needs to learn new things and have something to do. When I asked her why she wasn’t quiet when she could clearly see you wanted her quiet she said that you weren’t respecting what she needed at that moment (mental stimulation) so why should she respect your desire for quiet. (Sorry, seems a bit rude to say it like that but that is definitely what I got).
I asked her if she would like to do formal training with you (like in a club or something) and she said absolutely YES!
I asked her why she doesn’t walk nicely on the leash and she said that she only has a vague idea of what you want from her and that she is so excited to go on the walk that she forgets, there are things to see, things to smell and its all so exciting that walking nicely is boring.Just a suggestion, but if mobility is an issue for you at the moment, have you ever thought of dog dancing? It can be really fun and teaches the dog to focus on you. Some simple steps are weaves, walking backwards, going though your legs, etc. All these can be done really easily without much movement on your part. Poppy will learn to focus on you and this will automatically make leash walking better for both of you.

Hi Louise,
Poppy has an abundance of toys to play with, as well as 2 other dogs and me. I’ve made a point to play with her more. I’ve taught her to shake hands. She doesn’t do it on command yet, although she often offers me one of her front paws.
Two nights ago, we were playing fetch. As usual, she didn’t really want to give me the ball back, so she made up a new game: She brings the ball in her mouth, and instead of giving me the ball, she gives me her paw to shake. I shake her paw for a bit, then, when I can, I grab the ball from her so I can throw it for her. She’s done that new game two nights in a row, and I’m delighted with it, and I think she is too, especially since she made the game up~! I’m definitely trying to give her more work to do. She’s also taken to “patrolling” outside more in the evening. Apollo used to do that all the time, and now, it seems Poppy has taken over that job somewhat. Sometimes, they both are “on guard” at night, outside in the yard.
LOL, “walking nicely is boring” – yes, I definitely get that~! I wish we could do more formal training – just can’t right now, physically, handle it. I do work with her here at home and I know I could/should be more consistent with it.
I will work with Poppy to show her what I want when she’s walking on a leash. Maybe I’ll walk my oldest dog on a leash so that Poppy can see Bella, then that may give her a better idea. She’s a bit older now, and seems more ready to pay attention to her work. Once she walks nicely on a leash, then I can take her different places and on walks around our land. When I can do that, I’ll be able to let her run to the end of the 50ft lead I got, specifically to allow her to explore more.
No, I haven’t heard that term, yet I’ve seen dog dancing on TV and at a performance at a horse show. I’m really short, and not real steady on my feet some days, so a dog going between my legs is the last thing I’d want to try – I’d probably just go SPLAT on the floor~! I’ll google it and see which moves we could do. I have tried to get her to “watch me” without great success, so far.
I can see I probably need to do some little, short 5 min sessions when I can. I’ve just been in a lot of pain lately and walking and standing are really challenging right now. Getting some work done on my knees on 12/7, so I should feel better after that.
Thank you~!

It it my divine intention to talk with Poppy at this time, to share and receive messages of love, and inspiration with clarity and ease. Poppy, can we talk right now? Is this a good time? It’s Marybeth and I’m a student here in the Heart School of Communication.
Yes, I am here. I’m excited! I feel like running again! There’s a lot of energy coming through my message to you.
I can feel it Poppy. Do you know why that is?
I know my mom wants me to walk with Kelly and let her pet me. I get really excited when Kelly pets me. I would love to run and play but I’m feeling caged in.
Oh? What do you mean by caged in?
I don’t like to be held close to one’s body. I want my own space, my own freedom. I want to be able to do what I want to do, when I want to do it.
Oh, yes, I can understand that for sure Poppy. I sometimes feel that way too. I wonder however if you ever thought about the possibility that sometimes we need to do things to help us? For example, do you feel caged in with Kelly?
Yes
When do you feel caged in? When she comes close to my face. Also, when she takes me for a walk. I do feel I have improved but I don’t like it still. I want to walk and run freely. Not be held back from doing so.
Ah okay. I think I understand sweet girl. That brings me back to what I was saying about sometimes doing things we don’t want to do but that can actually help us. You mom Stacey was saying that she isn’t able to walk that far and that if you can go with Kelly, you will be able to explore the land more. You could swim in the big lake if you wanted to and you would be able to have more sniffs and scents to smell plus lots of new sights and sounds. Would you like those things Poppy?
Oh yes, that would be nice!
So here’s the thing, in order for you to be able to experience those things, you will need some help. Because if you were to go on your own, running here and there without being on a leash, you could get hurt, lost or even killed. Do you understand why I’m sharing all this with you Poppy? The leash is to help you stay safe. It’s because mom and Kelly love you.
There have been some others working with me on this too. I have understood from them as well. I’m working on it. I’d like to give it a try again. Could Kelly and mom remind me when I go for my next walk with Kelly? Please give me some time to understand their message and request. I find that if I can have some time to process the message, I can feel better about it. Please don’t just come to me telling me it’s time with the leash. Give me time to process first. Tell me that it’s time to start to get ready for a walk. Remind me that we can have fun together. That will help me.
Okay sweet Poppy. I have written this all down and will share it with your mom okay?
I thank you for being open to this more and understanding that it’s not about being tied down or held back or as you said “caged in”, it’s about helping you stay safe. And mom said a new leash has arrived or is arriving for you to give you more space too. She’s doing all she can to help you with this. Plus Kelly is there for another week or so and with mom not being able to walk very far right now, this is a perfect time for you to explore. Thanks for talking with me today Poppy. I send much love to you and your mom xo.
Thank you for talking with me Marybeth. I will process our talk more too.

Hi Marybeth,
It’s good to know that Poppy got excited when Kelly pets her. Poppy likes to go into Kelly’s workroom and steal little bits of leather that are in the trash or the floor. She also steals trash from the can in Kelly’s room. Kelly’s gone back to Guatemala now, so it will be interested to see how they interact when Kelly visits again – probably not until spring.
Physically, Poppy lives in the house, and the kennel, which is HUGE – as big as some peoples homes. Until she walks well on a leash and works well with others, I can’t take her out onto our land, yet she can see it from the kennel area. Yes, I can see she wants what she wants, when she wants it – don’t we all?
A couple times Kelly did hold Poppy on her lap, and it was clear Poppy wanted down. Poppy is getting better about letting me cuddle her now and then for a few minutes. When she shows me she wants down, I help her down. Kelly hasn’t taken Poppy for a walk, yet Kelly may have been picturing it in her mind, as she wanted to do that.
I appreciate that you explained to Poppy about the advantages of walking on a leash and why we want her to do so. I hadn’t thought of it in those terms, nor explained it to Poppy.
I think the “walk with Kelly” has been in her mind, because it didn’t happen physically. I’m glad Poppy’s getting the message about how important it is for her to walk on a leash. I will definitely give Poppy time to mentally prepare for training time with the leash. I’ll show it to her, put on her harness and let her just hang out with the harness for a bit, then attach the leash. I think I’ll make that her signal – harness means leash time. I’ll remind her it can be fun to go places when on a leash, and that’s WHY we need to get good at leash time.
Thank you so much~!

Hi Stacey. I tried to connect with your lovely dog Poppy again and asked her a few questions as follows:
Q: Do you have any toys?
A: I have lots of toys. Stacey really looks after me. I keep them in a box and put them back when I have finished with them. I have a variety of balls – a small red ball is my favorite. I have a blue tug toy that I love. I have fabric toys that I carry about, one is a green felt man.Q: How do you feel about Apollo?
A: He is ok but he can be a bit grumpy. He does not play much, he is not like me, I am so happy and carefree.Q: How do you feel about Bella?
A: I like Bella, she is very sweet and kind. Bella is my friend. Bella is top dog.Q: How do you feel about Stacey?
A: She is my world. She spends a lot of time with me.Q: What are you given to eat?
A: We are mostly given kibble – small brown dry biscuits. Sometimes I get raw meat and a big bone that I love.Q: Where do you like to sleep during the day?
A: I go to my crate that I sleep in at night.Q: Have you enjoyed talking to people?
A: Oh yes. It’s been amazing. I’m so excited to do it.I also got ” I love to play and amuse everyone, I am exuberant. I am a dog, I make the most of my life, I make the most of things. I have boundless energy. I am young and carefree. I love life, I am a very happy dog.”
Any feedback would be appreciated. Thank you. Angela L

Hi Angela,
Yes, Poppy has many toys and, when they’re picked up, they are kept in a box and she knows where to go get them. Mostly, they are scattered all over the floor in several rooms – my house looks like a 2 yr old kid lives here, LOL.
I WISH she would put her toys back when she’s done with them. It is one of the things I’d like to teach her. She doesn’t, so that’s why they’re often scattered about. A green felt man is not among her toys.
Poppy doesn’t really interact with Apollo much, and yes, he’s been a bit grumpy lately. I don’t think he likes it that Kelly makes loud banging noises when she’s working on her leather projects.
Bella is top dog – the oldest. Yes, she is super sweet and kind. She’s also willing to play with Poppy, which kind of surprised me. I think it is because Poppy doesn’t challenge Bella for top dog spot.
I’m glad Poppy feels that I’m her world – I do try to play with her as much as I can. Even when I’m working, Poppy will come into the office, very politely (she’s got it down now) touch my leg, and then I stop what I’m doing and pet her for a few minutes, until she’s done. I think that makes Poppy feel acknowledged and love.
Food answer is correct. Kibble, biscuits for treats and very rarely, some meat tid bits.
During the day, Poppy sleeps wherever she wants – her crate is open, yet I haven’t seen her sleep there during the day. Mostly, she just flops down somewhere near me. At night, she does sleep in her crate.
I’m delighted that Poppy’s enjoyed talking with everyone~!
This part is very accurate:
I love to play and amuse everyone, I am exuberant. I am a dog, I make the most of my life, I make the most of things. I have boundless energy. I am young and carefree. I love life, I am a very happy dog.”Poppy is just happy, joyous energy, and I’m happy she’s here with me. I think she’s taught us all some good lessons~!
Thank you~!

Hi Marybeth,
Thanks for trying to have a conversation with Poppy – I’m a little surprised she didn’t really want to talk, yet that is her normal nap time after her morning play time.
She’s really loved talking with everyone. I hope all y’all keep talking with her~!
Thank you.

I have just started the courses and this is my first time in this session. When i connected with Poppy I felt her joy with a new person and she welcomed me! She is full of spunk and love. I then felt a dull pain in my neck as if she had a headache…I asked if I could send her some healing energy and she told me yes..definitely. I gave her some Reiki healing and she thanked me..I hope that she is feeling good now. thank you for connecting with me Poppy.

Hi Glenda, Barb,
Yes, Poppy is full of spunk and love – definitely~!
Poppy has really enjoyed talking with everyone. Before she even came home, I KNEW she would be an important part of my journey in animal communication, and I’m delighted she’s been able to help all the class members too~!
Thank you for sending Poppy some Reiki~!
I’ll offer Reiki to her more often and see if she’ll accept it. I mostly do Reiki hands on, and some animals love it, and some can’t handle it hands on.
Thank you for talking with Poppy~!
