Featured Animal Teacher (FAT) for February 2020 Mathilda-in spirit

Hi everyone. I’m so thrilled that we were asked. Mathilda has been urging me to put her forward since the first Fat call I participated in with Knight last November. She was literally jumping up and down above my left shoulder during the call!

Hi Averil,
Thank you so much for sharing precious Mathilda with us When I first checked in with her she just radiated love, love and more love. I introduced myself and she was excited. I asked her to tell me about her life in the physical world and she said that she loved her life. She wanted to teach others how to love unconditionally. She said she felt so loved in every way. She went on to explain that sharing and experiencing love in a magical way was what her purpose was (and still is). She then said that “all we need is love”.
She asked me to place my hand on her heart and I could feel it racing.
I asked her about if she a problem with her heart and she said “not any more”.
After the connection, I felt a sense of peace and harmony. I look forward to connecting with her again.

Hi Jo. I’m so pleased you connected with Mathilda. You are absolutely on the money. She was, and is, the most loving and heart centred little being. I adored her. She was sooo excited when she found out about the animal teacher forum and she urged me to put her forward. You are right. She wants to teach and share about love.
She did develop a slight heart murmur towards the end of her life.

Hi Averil,
Thank you for sharing Mathilda with us. I tried communicating with her in our Live Q&A and I saw her prancing and dancing around in such a very happy and excited way. She was loving all the attention. She is very loving and came right up and jumped on me and licked me. I saw a huge expansive blue aura that felt very warm and comforting. She has no intention on coming back as a physical being for a little while. Her advice to me was to relax and have fun, and not take life so seriously. She is such a beautiful being and I am so glad that I was able to communicate with Mathilda. Thank you again Averil. 🙂 She remained curled up on my lap.

Averil, I loved connecting with your wonderful Mathilda. I saw the group sitting in a circle with Mathilda dancing and prancing around in the center. She was going to first one person and then another and was excited and so happy to have so many people visiting her. What a beautiful spirit.

Hi Averil, thank you for the wonderful opportunity to connect and communicate with your beautiful angel Mathilda. I first felt her walking around my feet. (I also felt a mirror to this as if she was walking around your feet). I felt her touch my ankles. She’s so sweet. The colour GOLD came through. She said “This is fun!” when we, the group was connecting with her all together on the call. Lastly, she wrote you a letter and I’ll paste it here for you:

I am with golden light and that golden light is something that you are familiar with. I send it to you all the time.
You are my heart and soul partner, you are the one that I came in to my life as Mathilda to learn, grow and evolve.

Hi Marybeth. Wow what a beautiful connection and thank you so much for typing out the letter from Mathilda. I was so moved when you read that out in the feedback during the call. It’s what I know in my heart to be true but it’s so precious to have it written down in this concrete form.

Yes she often used to walk around my ankles when I was walking around the house “Mind away Tildy, you’ll get trod on!” Was frequently heard in our house lol.

I often used to say to her “I love you so much. You are the child of my heart and soul!”

And now that she’s in spirit this feels even more true, but in a different dimension. The letter she gave you confirms this too.

Thank you so much for you to offer Mathilda for us to talk with!
I’ve been very busy at work and haven’t been able to connect with Mathilda nor go on the Q&A session. Though when I saw her picture in one of Val’s mails this morning, I was led to talk with her briefly before I rush onto my busy life…

I sense that Mathilda was balanced dog. I see that she gets excited (as any dog would) but not crazily, but she is sending more calm energy generally. I sensed that toward her end of life was a bit of a challenge that gave you both some learning.

I asked her why she is sending that information and she told me that it is a reminder for you, Averil, to remember the beginning. I feel this is sort of an message in general. Enjoying the beginning of excitement and enjoying the journey of ups and downs, but don’t dwell on the ending. Ending is just to close the chapter but it is the journey that is most important. She was showing me of an image where you two first met. You two were both very excited and looking forward to the journey together. During Mathilda’s life, you two shared such a meaningful life. Mathilda being the shoulder to cry on for you at times.

I sense that you, Averil, had some tuff times during Mathilda’s lifetime. I sense that Mathilda was there to ground you when you were not very grounded. She is showing me that she is doing that even now. When you feel like when your life is hectic or feel ungrounded, but if you suddenly somehow feel grounded or has a shift in your energy, know that that’s Mathilda helping you. At least that’s what I sensed.

I asked her if there’s a message for you and she tells me that she is proud of you and keep up the good work!

Hi Averil…. Thank you so much for your feedback and for sharing precious Mathilda with us. I was having a challenging day when I decided to connect again with Mathilda. Oh my gosh, as soon as I connected with her she put her paw on my knee and told me once again to “remember about love”. It made my heart smile. She went on to say that “when you love somebody it is a meeting of the minds and hearts”. She went on to explain that she is able to see more clearly now. I asked if she meant in her thinking or her vision and she answered “Both of them”. I thanked her for her wisdom, her love and gentle spirit that has touched so many. Connecting with her turned my whole day around!!!

Hi Averil and Mathilda,
I feel that Mathilda was the kind of puppy that wanted bows in her hair! (Maybe not literally but that is the energy I receive from her just pure joy and love.) This loving energy makes me smile.

When I connected to her on the group call she had just arrived after shooting across the sky like a beautiful streak of golden energy. She was excited and breathless… She did not want to miss anything and I have a feeling that was the way she was in physical as well. She wanted to be a family member opposed to a pet.

I then told her I needed help with my daughter’s dog, Luchien, to overcome his car sickness so he could enjoy a long car trip with his family. She told me that the work I have done so far is really good and now I can just visit him and test it out.

Any messages for Averil? Keep doing what you are doing. You are on the right track. “You will know I am there to help when the light shines in.”

Hi Chigusa. Thank you for your report on your communication with Mathilda. My apologies for the delay in responding, I’ve only just seen your message.

Really everything that you have said is very accurate. Yes the last 12 months were really tough for a number of reasons. And you and she are right. Important to cherish the early years as well.

I have been connecting with her more often this week. She wants us to work together when I am doing my animal communication and healing work and I feel honoured that she is willing to do this. What an amazing blessing she has been and is, in my life.

That’s so beautiful and also very accurate. Your description of her energy is perfect. She adored life and adored people. She touched many many folks hearts. Folk loved her on Facebook. My groomer simply adored her and was heartbroken when Mathilda passed. She used to bounce into the vet surgery. She was just like that.
Yes She was never a pet (none of the animals I’ve shared my life with have been for that matter)

I’m glad she could help you with your Luchien.

She really really wants to be of service and help. We two are going to be working together!

Incidentally she was almost completely blind towards the end of her life. (Though that didn’t stop her stalking and killing the poor blackbirds in my garden and burying them in the pot plants by the back door!)

I had a chance to connect with Mathilda tonight and it was so lovely. She was jumping and prancing spinning when we met–she was so excited. I sensed that she loved doing all of these connections this past while. And immediately the song Waltzing Mathilda started playing–she said that this was your song to her and that it made you so happy when you would sing it and she would start being silly. She loved to make you laugh. Her greatest joy came from making you laugh and be happy. she also stated that she was a bit of a diva??? She loved her coats and loved showing them off. I sensed her spirit as being one of such pure joy and happiness. She shared with me that being in spirit is so wonderful. I sensed that she had a lot of pain at the end of her physical life and being pain free and so light is so very wonderful to her right now. I saw her running and jumping and just being so free in her movements. She is sad that you are feeling her loss — (I actually was feeling this deep sadness when we were communicating) But she also knows that you understand that she is with you in spirit all of the time. When ever the song Waltzing Mathilda comes to your mind, that is her singing it to you. We ended our time together with the song–she was howling at the top of her lungs and we were both so very very happy.

Averil, I am just so new on this journey, and not trusting my self–but I am trying to just record what I see, hear and feel and not judge or analyze. She did make me laugh and we had a good cuddle, and that was awesome. She is an amazing spirit and she loves you deeply.

Hi Averil. Thank you for offering Mathilda-in-spirit for the February FAT. The impression I got was that Mathilda is a very sweet dog. She said her favorite activity was to sit on your lap, to be with you and to comfort you. She was your pretty girl. Also she liked to run after a small blue ball.
Mathilda said that you liked to walk to town and she would come too. There seemed to be a street with stone buildings grey in color. There was a cafe and you both used to sit outside and watch the passers by. Mathilda said she loved to be with you, it was heaven, she was your comforter. There were other dogs at the cafe too and the cafe owners loved dogs and would give them dog biscuit treats. Mathilda loved to be at the cafe, there was a big sandy coloured dog who was a friend (Edgar?). The dogs used to eat their biscuits together and Averil would talk to the other dog people.
Mathilda said she was a very fussy eater, finicky, she mentioned morsels. She was a dainty eater and was on a special diet. She ate out of a blue ceramic bowl something like jellymeat.
Mathilda said that of course she used to sleep with you in the bed alongside you. “I was there to help and comfort Averil. I was her best friend”.

I’m not sure how accurate this information is but any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks. Angela

Thank you so much for all your wonderful feedback. When I checked in with Mathilda, I was flooded with such love once again. She told me that she can watch over you from “a higher perspective now”. Being able to talk to all of us taught her that she has the ability to zoom love into those who need it. She then added we all need love. She went on to say that “learning never stops”. I asked about her life in the spirit world and she said that “it is different but nothing to fear. It all makes sense now. It is important to experience all that life has to offer as that is what lives within you forever.”
I thanked her for her wisdom and love. I felt so calm, peaceful and loved after my connection with her.

Hi Averil! I’m connecting with Miss Mathilda as I write this. Around when I first connected with Mathilda, she gave me a precious head tilt like the one in her FAT picture. I asked her if she was free to talk and she said , “Why, yes, I am”. It was so cute! I told her to hang on because I was going to start writing this. She started dancing in circles!
I said, “So, Mathilda, what would you like to talk about?” She said, “Anything you’d like to talk about.” I said, “How about you tell me about your life with Averil?” She said, “I was her rock.” She said she gave you a lot of strength-particularly during a certain time. I got “death” and then “disease”. She said it was very sad and she tried to make you happy, to take your mind off of it, and to comfort you. She said sometimes you and she would like together on the couch or in bed. I told her I’m sorry she experienced such a hard time. She said, “Thank you. It is what it is. It’s all our Karma and we all have our own time to pass on and things we must go through in lifetimes.” I told her that’s true. Now she wants to talk about something else.

She said she likes the beach now and did as a dog. She said there’s one near where you live and you two would go there sometimes. She sent me an image of her running on the wet sand where the waves come up to the sand and then go back in (the waves are barely there because the water has come up so much). She said she loves to hear the waves and did when in her physical body.I got that there was another dog…and a cat.

She said, “Always remember the Human Buscuits!”

She went somewhere. I thanked her for talking with me and she thanked me for talking with her. I said, “Be happy and well and I look forward to talking to you again.” She said, “Same here. Ditto!”

Thanks for offering Mathilda to practice our ability to communicate with a pet in spirit.

Mathilda is running around in circles because she is so excited of the attention she is getting. She has a vibrant energy. I asked her how she is doing and she said ‘Fantanstic’. Are you still in spirit? Oh yes, it is wonderful. Oh, I do miss my her (Averil). Sent her my love. Not sure, if I want to come back? So many options. Mathilda is a sweet lady, caring, wide awake, clear minded, assertive, focused to her mom and surrounding. Mathilda is a great listener. When the doorbell rings she is barking running to the door and let everybody know that someone is at the door. She has a loud light barking, if that makes sense. She loved the garden. It’s nice and green and lots of smells. Her aura looks pink and it also changes to small birdie colors around her. The message to me was ‘Get calm and get well’.

Oh Betty. You picked up so much that was so accurate. Yes I did sing Waltzing Mathilda to her often. That made me cry because I’d forgotten. Towards the end of her life her body started to break down as bodies do. She stayed an extra nine months for me and Jasper. It took a fair bit of nursing on my part and she was so cooperative with her meds.
She did like her jackets and looking smart. She loved getting her jackets on even if she ripped them off later if she got too hot.
She loved to jump and run when she was younger.

Finally some time to sit down and properly respond to your report about your communication with Mathilda.
Your comments about her being my comforter are spot on. We loved being together. And yes she was a very pretty little girl.
“I was there to help and comfort Averil. I was her best friend”. Absolutely correct. Both she and her brother Hamish were my rocks. And after he departed the focus really intensified with Mathilda.
Some of the other things you received at face value don’t seem so accurate. I’ve given this a lot of thought because Martha has made comments too which on the face of it aren’t strictly accurate.
I checked with her about the stone buildings and the cafe and I was right this was actually the time when she and I did one of two solo road trips to a country town called Daylesford. I was recovering from the loss of her brother Hamish that year. It was my birthday and I met a friend for lunch at a cafe there. And people were very kind to her.
I’m a dog behavioural trainer so I’m always having conversations with dog people when I’m off the job lol
The bit about the cafe owner isn’t correct but the impression I have is that this was actually Graeme. For some years I would take my dogs over to Graeme and his wife’s place on Friday evenings and Sunday afternoons. Mathilda was quite wary of large dogs but she loved their dog Nelson who was a golden lab/retriever.
She never had a blue ball and actually never really played with toys much.
She was on a special diet for the last four years. In the final months I would give her one of her supplements mixed in with a little tinned food (extremely expensive vet blend) but it was the one and only treat I could give her. She ate it from a blue and white china saucer.
She didn’t sleep on the bed except occasionally in the very early days, but I suspect that she joined me at night on the astral level.
So those are my insights into your insights Angela. Hope that this is helpful. Again my thanks for connecting with Mathilda. She’s just said to me about the communication with her “ There was so much to tell her it got a bit muddled” So that in itself is a useful comment isn’t it? xxxx

Yes, she and her brother Hamish were my rocks. And after he departed it intensified with her. Yes she came into my life at a very difficult time which was actually about to get far worse. I won’t go into the details but basically a 25 year spiritual commitment and involvement had turned very sour and abusive. It took great courage and many years to extract myself. It took a heavy toll on my mental and physical health. Without the loving companionship and the focus those little dogs gave me I really don’t know how I would have faired. I had to completely rebuild my life. Interspersed with this were the deaths of both my elderly parents and an astrangement from my brother. So very very hard times.

And she’s right. This is all our karma and is there for us to learn from and to help each other through.

The image of wet sand: We only once went to the beach as it’s a four hour drive from here. The first evening the tide was way out and she and Hamish frolicked over the wet sand and through the puddles. The sun was low in the sky and it was very joyous.

However we often walked beside the Goulburn river which flows around our town. There’s a boat ramp where the dogs would have a little paddle and a drink and there was the sound of the water breaking on driftwood and pebbles. I always watched them closely because the water became deep quickly and the current very strong.

She loved to share tiny pieces of my gingernut cookies, only we call them biscuits here. The photo of her is actually from one of those biscuit moments.

So my thanks again for connecting with her. She’s just loved being the FAT! And she hopes that people like yourself will continue to connect with her. xxx

Thanks so much for connecting with Mathilda. She has simply adored connecting with everyone.
Really, your comments are absolutely spot on. She’s loving being free in Spirit. She was so ready to shed her little physical body which had become so awkward and painful as she grew older.
I miss her physical presence more than I can say. And your comment that She misses me made me cry. I thinks we both miss that physical reality which we shared for nearly 16 years.
But I feel so blessed that our connection in Spirit is so strong and enduring.

Yes she was a darned good little barker! And yes she had all the personality traits you describe. My back garden is filled with green grass and has a great big tree giving shade in the summer. She loved that garden.

I’m glad she gave you that message for you. She wants to heal and in fact she and I have started working together in this animal communication and healing journey that I have recently stepped into.

Today I’m getting that Mathilda was and is very warm, happy, and friendly most of the time. An image came to me of her snarling. I was thinking at first she did it to a person, but I got she did it to another dog. I got she did it only once. She also said that she would be a little hostile to people if they were not good people and was good at alerting you to if the person wasn’t good or if the person had bad intentions.

Mathild about a minute or so ago go on my chest and stretched out down to my abdominal area. I’m sitting on the couch, but I’m positioned where I’m not sitting straight up, so it’s easy to be able to get on my chest and stretch out how she did. I was petting her and she made some sounds that I’m not quite sure how to describe. They were sounds expressing that she liked being on me and me petting her. There were times were I sensed energy that she was still there.

I read your post in relation to when we connected with Mathilda during the Q & A Call. Then, I went back to Mathilda and she asked me for a cookie (I just got, “Biscuit, Biscuit!,” to correct me. lol.) and then she got up on her hind legs and now danced in a little circle. She said she loved to “perform charmingly” for a biscuit. How cute!

I just gave her a piece of a biscuit and she ate it happily and was chomping on it with her little mouth. Adorable! Now I just got an image of her with her nose down and smelling around on a deck looking for more biscuit.

She said she loved the bed and was Princess of the bed-and life in general. “There was no stopping me.”

I just got Lady MacBeth for some reason. I’m not sure what that’s about.

I asked Mathilda if she thinks she’s going to come back. She said, “Oh, yes! But as a cat this time.” “And I’m not done being Averil’s pet/companion/love. I will come back as her cat.” “Maybe not her current lifetime. Maybe next lifetime.” “She had a cat as a little girl.”

I also got an image of a white duck with a yellow bill and just not the duck quacked at me!

I also just felt a sensation in part of my Third Eye area.

I asked Mathilda if she went everywhere with you and she said she did. I also got that she was like an emotional support dog for you. She said you took her anywhere dog were allowed. She sent me a video of her walking happily on a leash with her tail in the air and it seems like she was in a store. I got it was a pet food store.

I thanked Mathilda for talking with me and told her I look forward to talking with her again. She said, “You’re welcome. Sorry to rush in at the last minute probably just as you thought you were done. I saw your post on FB and it reminded me that I had not had the chance to access the site this month yet.

I connected with Mathilda just a little while ago. I am inexperienced at this, but I hope some of the following make sense to you.

Personality: Mathilda felt like a sunshine – bright happy energy that light up her environment and everyone around. I asked her what her personality was like as Mathilda and she said she had been happy, cheerful and friendly. She also said she tried to remain positive even when faced with challenges.

Activities: I saw image of her playing with a female person (probably you) in what looked like a garden or backyard (seemed more “closed” than open public spaces like parks). I saw multiple images of her looking up at you near your feet, turning/changing the direction of her body frequently. She looked like she was waiting for you to take action (like throw a toy or give her a treat). I also saw an image of her sitting on a chair or some place a little elevated/off the floor and watching goings on in the house. Did she use to enjoy “people watching”? She mentioned that she had a dog friend, a larger & shorter haired breed with light colored coat. I didn’t see them playing together though, perhaps due to the size difference. Did she used to like chewing on things (sometimes that she was not suppose to chew on – like some fabric, wood, etc)? Did she use to like jumping into a heap of fallen leaves or grass?

Life purpose/mission in life: I asked her what her life purpose was as Mathilda. she said to remain positive in the face of challenges and to be good company to her human.

How she passed: Liver disease came to mind, but I am often wrong about these things…said she passed a little sooner than she had wanted. She wanted to stay a little longer as she liked her life in the physical world, but it was more or less time for her to go according to her original plan.

Life on the other side: Mathilda mentioned that she was currently participating in what sounded like a forum where each participant investigates any topic of interest and shares learnings with others. She said she was learning how nature worked. I felt like she mentioned rainbows, perhaps this was a topic she investigated. She said she’d find beings familiar with her chosen topics and interviews them to learn. I felt her strong intellectual curiosity.

She also has time to get together with friends. I saw an image of her with a bunch of other dogs that looked similar to her, so perhaps she sees her canine family from her physical life. I asked if she planned to reincarnate, and she said, “no, not for a while. I am enjoying learning.”

Visitations with you: Mathilda said she checks on you frequently to make sure you are doing well. When I asked her if she missed you, she said, “yes, but I can still visit her any time.” I asked her if she does/could give you signs when she visits you, and she said she could lick or poke with her nose on your lower legs.

Message to you: Here is what I think I heard from Mathilda. “Hi Mum! I hope you’re well. You know I visit you frequently and know that you are doing well and keeping yourself busy. Stay optimistic that everything will turn out for the best and they will. Love you!”

Hi again Yoko. Finally gotten a little bit of space to give you feedback on Mathilda. Basically as to personality and life purpose you are spot on. Yes she did a lot of observing, more especially as she became older. She’d sit in her basket by the heater in the lounge room and observe me working in the kitchen. She loved being with me in my backyard. It’s a very green and well enclosed space. She didn’t play with toys or balls.
The other dog you mention would be my young dog Jasper who is a jack Russell x whippet. He was with us for the last year of her life. They had to be separated because she was so frail and he too vigorous. But they were fond of each other. She used to tease him when he was in his pen, by carrying his toys past the pen.
Certainly as a puppy she chewed on things. She would prowl through the fallen leaves hunting blackbirds!
Her liver was certainly compromised, as were her kidneys during her final 10 months. She was nearly 16 when she passed. She had been doing quite well and then on Christmas day she ate a lot of tiny pin feathers, which was very atypical behaviour for her. A cat had killed a bird. I was very tired so I only picked up the large feathers, thinking of the puppy, never imagining Mathilda would go for the small stuff. She gave herself pancreatitis and really it was downhill from there. Eight days later she passed. I often wonder if she chose those feathers as the way of departure.
Your comments about the after life sound perfect. I know that she is thoroughly enjoying what she’s doing and she’s loving being free of pain too.
She does visit me often. I think we both miss the physical here and now companionship very much still. But she is with me in a way I didn’t think was possible until after she passed. She was my blessing in her life on earth and she’s still my companion and blessing in this new dimension.

Hi again Martha. Well it sounds like you had a delightful visit with Mathilda.
Yes I did take both her and her brother Hamish everywhere I could. And she loved her biscuit crumbs. She would certainly snap at any small dog who invaded her space. We used to visit the local pet shop regularly where the owner would make a fuss of her.

She was and still is very protective of me.

I’m don’t know about the white house or the pond or the white duck.

I’m not certain which animal she’d be referring to that I’d tried to help but it didn’t work out well. There are, sadly, quite a few candidates – either wild animals I’ve rescued but haven’t survived or dogs I’ve worked with where the owner decides to give up on the dog. I do tend to feel very badly, especially about the latter. What could I have done differently or better etc.
