The picture is of Layla, my rescue from Egypt. I would like to know if she is depressed. She doesn’t play with her toys much and sleeps a lot. When we go on walks she doesn’t want to come home. Have I done something to make her feel like this?

Thanks again Val for the compassionate and in depth response to my last question regarding making decisions on behalf of animals….it helped more than I can say. Apologies for harping on this topic and detailed post.
Blackie’s mother Brownie was my first rescue, and both of them lived with us as pets. So when we moved, I didn’t think of asking them, as there was no option. It was fine in the beginning, then Brownie kept digging under the fence and escaping to dangerous territory (jungle with leopards etc) so I started tying her up. After 2 years, she was brutally attacked by another rescue whom I had brought. She recovered, but 2 months later she declined overnight without reason, left within 12 days….the trauma was compounded by an imposter who called himself a vet and needlessly made her suffer.

My question is: am I not responsible for her confinement, the attack and end, because though you explained that animals have a purpose and soul’s journey, why would an animal (young and healthy) choose an unhappy life (maybe that’s why she was running away) and painful death? Thank you again for your patience and perspective.

Sometimes when I connect with animals I feel a profound sadness (sometimes I know why and sometimes I don’t) and even start to cry. I don’t get words from animals yet so I can’t have a conversation with them about it. How can I handle these big feelings with more grace and ease? It is difficult to connect when I have to consider if it is an OK time and place to cry (not at the animal shelter talking to the rescued pets). I have never yet felt joy from them to balance out the pain.

My love Carmel has cystitis and I’m not sure what to do or what’s been causing the stress. Can you please connect with her to figure out why she’s stressed and what I can do?

My parents and I were away for a few days and when we came back, my poor Carmel had puked everywhere and there was blood in the bathroom and in the hall! Also in the tub upstairs too. I don’t think she ate much at all because she threw everything up 🙁 We took her to the vet straight away but she has a history of this cystitis (she was given Prednisone in December 2021 when we thought she had a UTI and an anti-inflammatory this past February). They’re saying it’s stress-induced. She really loves being outside and I’m sure she didn’t want to be stuck inside…I just want to make sure she’s okay and this doesn’t happen again.

We have a vacation house where sometimes we bring her with us but I just didn’t want to overstress her. I thought she might be safer staying home 😕 Really worried about her and feel like I never should have left.

This is Bear! Such a good boy! He is my new rescue. Just want to know if he is a reincarnation of any of my other dogs. Also not sure what mix he is. I don’t want to dwell on abuse he received from former owners. He will be 2 years old in Sept. Is there anything he wants to tell me?
      Thanks so much!

Lily, my 2 yr. old Havanese spends a great deal of time licking her feet. Val told me before that where her dew claws were bothered her. She seems to be licking the bottom of her front claws. Is there some other problem and do the dew claws still hurt.

Val I have not felt well for months. I fall asleep all the time.

Any suggestions for meditation and/or AC when I am not well?

      Hello Val,
My question is about consistency. Sometimes I can feel very confident of my connection, receive whole downloads and it just flows. Other times it feels like the connection is weak and I’m just not confident at all. I can still get positive feedback however – though not always. Can you help explain this. I find that this makes me hesitate to practice.
      Thank you.
      Rosemary

      Dear Val,
Please may I further define my question. I have asked that before so please ignore it. I think the thing I find most difficult is holding the state of being with the animal – there seems to be a point when I’m connecting in the beginning where it feels like I want to run away rather than connect and it’s hard to hold myself into the connection and then during the connection there seem to be points where I sink in and am very connected and then the difficulty is holding myself there. – it seems to be a similar difficulty – holding the connection. Have you any advice? Thank you. Rosemary 🙂

Hello Val. This is an urgent question, more so than the one about being depressed. Layla has blood in her urine and a urine test showed no signs of infection. I have her booked for an ultrasound next week. Can you ask her what is wrong and I might add she received a healing on Tuesday night from Chigusa. So we are waiting to see what Layla can tell us. Apparently my worrying is sending negative energy. Thank you so much. I am also doing healing meditation for both of us.

Please delete. I did not realize I had already posted this. Thanks.

Val do you have any suggestions for doing AC when not being well? I have been facing several health challenges for months and just fall asleep when I get quiet for meditation of AC. Actually I sleep most of the time. Don’t plan to nap jut keep falling asleep and generally feel unwell.

Can you give some tips on how to get feedback in attempting to communicate with animals when I am not able to connect with animals at a distance if I haven’t “met” them before? I don’t have any friends with animals, and there is nobody at the animal shelter to give me feedback.

Hi Val, thank you yet again for a fascinating call.
Hello everyone….this delayed post is due to paucity of time/house guests…also the reason I missed most of the meditation and the communication with FAT. Luckily, I was in time for the questions, and Val’s answers yielded a number of nuggets, as usual!

I have to constantly remember that worry is weak energy, and based on fear. Also the importance of AC…our finding out and listening to what the animal has to share makes them feel better, and they can let go of unwanted energies. The connection with Layla was so revealing, and her indicating the presence of unwholesome energies reinforced my belief that animals see and sense energy probably better than us.

The in depth answer to my question about Brownie was in itself a continuation of the healing (that I feel started with the May call) as it cleared some doubts and made so much sense. I couldn’t imagine why Tikli (the other rescue) attacked Brownie so suddenly and brutally after they’d been together for 2 years…..the explanation that they had past karma to work out and things happened the way it had to be seems so logical. I was surprised and touched that Val remembered from 9 months ago that Brownie was attacked by “nasties”….indeed, that is what Blackie and Rani had also said. I had tried Hoponopono at one time, I will take Val’s advice and work with it again.

Greta’s feeling of sadness applies to me too….have to heal inner wounds, make peace with sadness and feel joy to be able to have authentic connections with animals.

Once I hear the replay (the guest left just today!!) I’ll probably find more nuggets….to celebrate my one year in the club (though only 9 months of gold/ live calls) I’m going to post a summary of nuggets as soon as I’ve caught up, including starting with the book Val recommended. On a lighter note, it’s the tourist season here in the hills, so we have a steady stream of visitors from the scorching plains, which does not help with all the pending work!!
