ModeratorWe are glad you are interested in practicing talking together with an animal!
To get started, greet the animal and ask if they have time to talk with you. Remember that animals also lead busy lives even though we may not see all that they do. If they aren’t available, check back later.
Introduce yourself and explain why you are reaching out to them: that you are a member of the Animal Talk Coaching & Mastery Club and learning to better communicate with animals and would appreciate their help. You can ask them any questions you want. Typically they do provide a response. Please share your impressions of their personality, energy, how they feel and any insights they may share with you. By sharing what you get, the animal’s person can provide you with feedback and others can jump in too.
Some conversations have been lively, and we’ve learned some amazing insights, and laughed at jokes. Remember that this is a safe place to practice. This is about practice and learning, it is not about getting it perfect. The animals have much to teach us, to share with us and we with them.

Gabriela
Silver MemberHi Mary
It feels as if Smudge was ‘more than a cat’, he seemed to be like ‘half a dog’ in his interest in living with humans. He was eager to interact nonverbally. I feel that he did want to live with people, he enjoyed their company, his cat independence was not so important to him. He left a void, when he went to the other side, that no other cat could really fill. He was that special, a wise calm soul. Wow.
A very strong presence, an enormous character and individuum, much loved and admired. A wonderful companion to have around. Did you often wonder what he was thinking? Did he make you wonder about animal communication?
It feels as if he did not belong to you only. Did you share him with a family member, your parents? It feels as if you were not the only person living at that place where the picture was taken.
Did anything happen to him outside ? He might not have lived to a very old age.
Thanks …

Platinum MemberHello Gabriela, I am sorry I didn’t see your conversation with my Smudgie cat earlier.
You are right in that he loved being both inside and outside. He was born outside but became the biggest mush when we got him. He always came at night when I called him to come in. He was very wise. He died of cancer at the age of 18. The cancer was in his throat and within a few months I had to help him transition. He belonged to both my husband and me. I had just gotten a puppy and we had to help Smudge have some peace. I never knew about animal communication until the end of 2022. He still comes to visit and came to me in spirit when my Abbey dog transitioned.
Thank you for talking with him. Love and hugs.
