Platinum MemberI asked Erika Taylor’s Kyra what she liked to eat and she said she really liked wet food best but she also like dry food. But she especially liked treats. I asked her what her favorite activity was and she said sleeping but she also likes chasing a ball or other toys. Once she caught a real mouse! “I purr a lot when I’m held. Erika calls me a purr box.”

Platinum MemberHi Karyn,
I’m so sorry! I responded to this message on November 6, but I’m not seeing my response. I’ll type it again.
Kyra is my wife’s FAVORITE cat (and we have 5 cats and 3 dogs). My wife love her so much that she has Ky tattooed on her forearm; I shared your conversation with her and she was very excited to see that someone talked with Kyra.
Kyra LOVES canned/wet food. She gets a little bit every morning and at dinner, and then she has access to dry food throughout the day. Her favorite treat (she’s the only one of the 5 cats who gets this) is real chicken. She gets a little packet every night. She knows she’s the favorite, and she eats it up. 🙂
I laughed out loud at her favorite activity being SLEEP! A year or two ago, a friend of mine talked with Kyra, and Kyra told her that she wanted Uninterrupted Sleep. She was referencing the fact that my wife is so obsessed with her, that she will go find her wherever she’s sleeping and pull her out to snuggle on the couch. She was telling my friend that she wanted to be left alone to sleep peacefully, so when she said sleep this time, it still makes me chuckle. I like to remind my wife of that often, and tell her to leave poor Kyra alone.
I am pretty sure she did catch a mouse one time. We found a dead mouse one day, but we didn’t see who had caught it. It’s very likely to have been her. She does purr a lot when she’s happy, and my wife calls her a purr box, so that’s very accurate. She doesn’t like to be held for long; she gets annoyed and then smacks a nearby cat. We joke that Kyra is full of rage (probably from that interrupted sleep!).
I should note that while I love our cats very much, my wife is the “cat lady,” and I am the “dog lady.”
