ModeratorWe are glad you are interested in practicing talking together with an animal!
To get started, greet the animal and ask if they have time to talk with you. Remember that animals also lead busy lives even though we may not see all that they do. If they aren’t available, check back later.
Introduce yourself and explain why you are reaching out to them: that you are a member of the Animal Talk Coaching & Mastery Club and learning to better communicate with animals and would appreciate their help. You can ask them any questions you want. Typically they do provide a response. Please share your impressions of their personality, energy, how they feel and any insights they may share with you. By sharing what you get, the animal’s person can provide you with feedback and others can jump in too.
Use the Forum SEARCH field (located at the top of the right column above the picture of the Featured Animal Teacher) to find more discussions involving this animal (or other animals with the same name).
Some conversations have been lively, and we’ve learned some amazing insights, and laughed at jokes. Remember that this is a safe place to practice. This is about practice and learning, it is not about getting it perfect. The animals have much to teach us, to share with us and we with them.

Platinum MemberHi Kathy, thanks for allowing me to speak with Raya. I have little practice (and self confidence!) so I hope some of this resonates with you.
Her life felt turbulent (energetically) in some ways, maybe due to some physical issues and a sudden decline before she passed. She also shows other dogs around her in the house. Her favorite thing was to follow you around. She feels like a peaceful soul. Did she pass a long while ago? While the weather was warm? She shows a vision of red lilies with long stems….does that have a significance? I also had a glimpse of her with a golden silhouette around her head.
She seems to have reincarnated as a small dog, and has moved on to another purpose. She says you’ve come across her…any dog that you’ve seen that resonates with you? There was a gap between the 2 incarnations for her to heal. She met other friends on the other side, including an old man.
Her message for you is that she’s very proud of what you do.
Thanks Kathy, I don’t know if any of this makes sense….I just get impressions and not very clear inputs! I asked for her help to improve my AC to connect with my 4 in spirit.

Gold MemberHI Nita, I didn’t see this on here, but got an email with your communication and replied to your email. I thought it came to this site, but evidently not. Did it come to you or anywhere you might have seen it? Was rather long and involved. If I have to, I will try to repost.

Gold MemberDear Nita
Thank you so much for talking with my Raya. She was a special girl, but then every one of my dogs was special.
At least to me. 🙂 She was a champion, which she achieved early and easily. Her registered name was Ch Enchante’s Seasons In The Sun. She was born during the “S” year and so had to have a name beginning with an S, abiding by the Briard and the French Briard rules. When she passed I changed the words of the song a tiny bit and wrote for her obit “We had joy, we had fun, we had seasons in the sun; but the joy and fun, like the seasons have all gone”. sorry. about to cry now. It was really hard losing her. Just a week prior her daughter, Vision, had died and now Raya. They both had cancer, Lympohma, which is very fast acting. I knew Raya had it, didn’t discover that Vision did until later and so with no treatment what so ever, she left first. When I discovered Vision also had cancer I knew I had to breed DeeDee, Visions daughter. Dee was so attached to her mom and we both
needed something to focus on.So on with Raya. I’m not sure what you mean by her life felt turbulent. We did have to move, oops, actually 5 times during her lifetime, but each place we lived was quite nice. It was always owners moving back and we would have to find another place to rent where I could have my dogs. A couple times I had to farm my dogs out to friends for a month or two till I found us a place. Gee, in thinking abt it, I guess it was rather turbulent for her. But even when they stayed with friend, I always made a point to visit them every week and bathe and groom them. Gee, Nita, you are bringing up lots of memories for me.
Sabrina was a lot like Raya as a puppy. Both high energy, wild, fun loving girls. But she grew into a loving, calm stable girl. Very smart. She used to help me clean up and when Dee was a puppy and would carry every toy out into the yard, in the evening I could ask Raya to get them and she would go out and find every one and bring them in. On our walks she always carried at least one, but often up to three toys in her mouth the entire walk.
Yes, up until a week before she passed, we had Vision, her daughter, Teddy, her son, and DeeDee her granddaughter. Previously we also had Lotus, her mom, Landmark, and Dallas. (I was a breeder for many many years – Raya and Dallas produced the best that I ever got. And all of this breeding took years to plan, I wouldn’t breed to just anyone, searched pedigrees and checked out males and planned breedings years in advance. So the breeding between Raya and Dallas was the culmination of many years of planning to get both him and then again years of waiting till the right male came along to breed to get Raya and then wait for her to grow up. My wonderful Teddy and Vison was from that breeding . Rambling, so sorry.
I always had flowers, flowers and plants on top of their crates and flowers in front of the house, I do not remember what kind they all were. I don’t know if she always followed me around, probably, I just know she was always there. Of course she slept with me, most of my dogs did. But she always waited for me to get into bed and get settled, then she would hop up and lay next to me, which helped my back pain. Briards are known for jumping onto the bed and hogging all the space and you have to find space around them, but she was so polite and waited for me find my space first.
A small dog, hmm.. There was Fluffy that lived across the street ( I have lived here for 3 yrs), he died last summer. But he always had a thing for me. A little white fluff ball. Everytime he got out he would run over here and if I was walking one of my dogs he would follow us up the street. But since he died last summer and I don’t remember how old he was, maybe 7 or 9 (?) but probably not the right time frame. There is a mini pit bull where I take Sabrina, she loves him and he seems to love me, but I am not fond of him. So IDK. Perhaps sometime you and talk to her again and ask more abt him.
She died in Sept of 2011 and the weather was nice. A golden silhouette around her head ( big smile ) that sounds like my Raya. I was told when I named her that Raya meant ray of sunshine and that’s how I always saw her.
Thanks so much for connecting with her, you are the only person that ever has. Thanks for bringing back so many memories.

Platinum MemberHi Kathy, thanks so much for the detailed feedback and fascinating stories of your girl, loved reading about her, and that her name meant ray of sunshine! So sorry for your loss…she was truly special, though as you rightly say, all are! I’m glad my post brought back happy memories of Raya..maybe that was the reason she drew me to her! I look forward to speaking with your other kids soon!
Thanks again, and much love and blessings
