ATH conversation with Jann J’s Teddi

[Moderator]

We are glad you are interested in practicing talking together with an animal!

To get started, greet the animal and ask if they have time to talk with you. Remember that animals also lead busy lives even though we may not see all that they do. If they aren’t available, check back later.

Introduce yourself and explain why you are reaching out to them: that you are a member of the Animal Talk Coaching & Mastery Club and learning to better communicate with animals and would appreciate their help. You can ask them any questions you want. Typically they do provide a response. Please share your impressions of their personality, energy, how they feel and any insights they may share with you. By sharing what you get, the animal’s person can provide you with feedback and others can jump in too.

Some conversations have been lively, and we’ve learned some amazing insights, and laughed at jokes. Remember that this is a safe place to practice. This is about practice and learning, it is not about getting it perfect. The animals have much to teach us, to share with us and we with them.

Hi Teddi and Jann 🙏🏻❤️❤️
My first impression of Teddi was super curious, fast , can disappear in a blink of an eye, great appetite “ for life”, strong will, mischievous 😉 and fun and so darn cute.
I heard, being in water a lot is special and spectacular. There’s a different resonance in water that makes me receive things in a different way.
Me: In what way different?
T: More “ thorough “, it’s hard to explain but I’ll give you the feeling.
Me: I can understand it but I also have a hard time putting words to it, but I get it.
T: The resonance from earth also gets more dominant in water.
Me: That’s so cool you can feel that Teddi, I only know about the sacred geometry and how it forms structure after the sound from earth snd it’s mind blowing.
T: It is and it’s a feeling of being connected to all at once, pretty cool, you can also feel it but you might need to practice.
Me: For sure, that works be so cool. I’ve been in natural hot springs and that would be a great place to practice, awesome idea.Thanks a lot Teddi, great connecting with you, you’re so cute 😜❤️.

My intention is to speak to Teddi the Turtle.
As I am readying myself for communication, Teddi was already initiating conversation with me. I told him I wasn’t ready yet and asked him to give me a moment while I was set up for our conversation. I love his sense of humor (Reminds me of East Coast banter). It was nice to kid with each other during our conversation.

(T) OK I’m ready.. Let’s talk.
(Teddi) What was all that about? You shushed me from communicating with you so you could get ready to communicate with you???
(T) Yes, I know. I realize that now. (Teddi mumbling under his breath). OK, Ok…I’m new, I’m new, give me a break. (Banter back and forth was all in good fun).

(T) Ok, so Mr. Teddi, I get the impression that you are very wise. You should have the round professor glasses on. You know a lot about things and you know a little bit of a lot of things.
(T)Your home is centrally located so you can see the coming and goings of people walking by in the house.
(T) You don’t want to be put in a back corner away from the action.
(T) Are you against a wall and want to be brought forward?
(Teddi) I want to be able to see all the way around my tank. I can only see out of 3 walls.
(T) The reason that you can only see out of 3 walls of your enclosure is probably due to the heat lamps and various pumps needed to keep your home in perfect condition for you. So one side usually has a decorative background of some sort to hide the tubes.
(I will ask your Mom to see if she can figure out a solution so you can see 360 around in your enclosure).
(Teddi) Maybe she can wrap it in a decorative scarf or something.
(Teddi) My eyesight is not that good. ( T- Ha Ha I told you that you needed glasses).
(Teddi) The best place for me would be near the kitchen table where everyone sits around the table having conversations. I like to listen to their conversations very much. Otherwise I’m just off in a corner and life is boring and lonely.
(T) I will ask your Mom about relocating you to the kitchen or as close as possible.
(Teddi) Maybe they can turn my tank so that one wall that hides the cords will be a small side versus the big side.
(T) I will absolutely tell your Mom that. You haven’t been FAT in a while so I want to warn you that sometimes when I pick out practice animals, like you, out of a file, your Mom may not be in the school anymore or I didn’t get the message to her that we spoke. I will try to track her down though.

(T) You’re talking about special treats. I see teeny-tiny fish. You love it when you get these because you get to hunt for them and you feel like a mighty hunter and it gives you something to do.
(Teddi) I need more things to do.
(T) I’m not sure what types of things you would do to enrich a turtle’s life and how to best set up an interactive enclosure. You will have to work with your Mom on that. I agree with you though, that you are very smart and would benefit from being challenged mentally.
(T) I see those yellowish Mealworms? I see you eating the live worms. You seem to enjoy those.

(T) How about your enclosure? Do you have any comments to share about your enclosure?
(Teddi) My enclosure is fine. If for some reason you needed to change it for another one, a bigger one with a place just for sunbathing and a place with a little water on rocks and a place with deep and shallow together. That sounds like it would cover all bases. I don’t need a bigger tank but if you needed to change it for some reason, that would be what I would like.

(T) OK, anything else?
(Teddi) I just want special treats…fish and mealworms?
(Teddi) I’m happy, everyone that goes by me says hi to me.
(T) Yes, I do think you look wise and could benefit from glasses.
(T) (Snickering) I do think you would look like a wise professor in glasses.
(Teddi) I would look like an absent minded professor. Ha ha

Are there any words of wisdom for me?
(Teddi) You did ok.
(Teddi) You’re really slow.
(Teddi) You should have done pre-work before.
(T) Should I have stopped when you first appeared? – (YES) – That makes total sense. I was going through the motions to get into the “zone” in order to communicate effectively. You were already communicating with me in the midst of getting ready, so I should have stopped when you first interrupted me with your presence. Got it!
(T) My intention was to connect with you and I was already connected so I didn’t have to go through all of my steps if I was already there.
(T) So next time if that happens I will just shift right into the conversation as the connection has already been made. Wow, that is very helpful. Thank you so much!

(T) Is there anything else? Would you like me to tell your Mom anything?

(Teddi) No I don’t think so. We talked about a lot of stuff. The tank walls and maybe moving the tank close to the hub of the house.
Having more glass to see out of was big too.

OK I’m so glad we covered what you wanted to cover. You are an absolute delight! Thank you for speaking to me and giving me constructive criticism. I agree 100% with what you said. I will put your advice into action.
