We are glad you are interested in practicing talking together with an animal!
To get started, greet the animal and ask if they have time to talk with you. Remember that animals also lead busy lives even though we may not see all that they do. If they aren’t available, check back later.
Introduce yourself and explain why you are reaching out to them: that you are a member of the Animal Talk Coaching & Mastery Club and learning to better communicate with animals and would appreciate their help. You can ask them any questions you want. Typically they do provide a response. Please share your impressions of their personality, energy, how they feel and any insights they may share with you. By sharing what you get, the animal’s person can provide you with feedback and others can jump in too.
Some conversations have been lively, and we’ve learned some amazing insights, and laughed at jokes. Remember that this is a safe place to practice. This is about practice and learning, it is not about getting it perfect. The animals have much to teach us, to share with us and we with them. Enjoy!

Hi Jo!
I am doing a challenge of posting daily in the forum. This is what came yesterday. Tiki is a teacher!
I don’t know if there are any buildings near you under construction. This was an amazing experience even if there aren’t any buildings. This building was on a hill near a pond….November 3rd: Tiki
I connected with Tiki this morning. First I said hello and introduced myself. I said are you up for a chat and I received nothing. Then I said my cat in spirit’s name was Tiki and I liked the name. Then I asked do you like to sleep in Jo’s lap? Just wanting to know if I got it right? (Ha ha)
I then “saw” a building on a hill that was under construction.Look in here.
I saw some rooms under construction.I roam. I find out things. I go here.
Use your gifts wisely. Be still and wait. Connect with knowing and feeling. Don’t ask stupid questions. Feel our essence. You will receive what you need to know.

Hi Barb, Thank you so much for connecting with Tiki. Tiki usually is outside and near our house but every once in a while I see him come home late at night/ very early morning when I leave for work. There is some roadwork construction going on down the road which is near a hill so he must be exploring. When he does come inside he lays on the couch right beside my husband or on his lap. The comments do hold true for me as I need to have more trust in knowing and feeling during this time of being at a crossroad in my life.

Hi Jo! I made intention to connect with Tiki about 2 weeks ago and my notes are very messy and so I will decipher some key words and ideas. I will also communicate again soon to get clearer connection/practice. I got that Tiki is very brave, soft, sweet, and vicious (or wild). Bullied in the past and fiercely loved now. Desires attention but shy of it. food issue, doesn’t like kibble that is intended to help him, loathes treats? says he feels fine, though. he says he can be patient with his person. He likes to go places and is dog like, annoyed by children petting sometimes? and says needs protection from this. He asked to give message to his person (Jo): regain balance in regards to work output and craft time for self; that something is draining her energy and he (tiki) is shining his light for her to let go and dance, redirect her energy/goals, and come into her game soon?

Hi Angela, You got his personality so right. He is a wild outdoor cat and he is very brave and sweet. He lives life on his terms and will go to all different places on the yard as if to keep us guessing. Tiki and I seem to connect and “ get each other”. That definitely seems to be the case with his messages for me. I need to make sure I have quiet time and space as I work long hours at a very stressful job. Thank you so much.

Hi Jo! I was looking through ATH pictures and Tiki wanted to talk. Thanks for offering Tki as an Animal teacher. When I first saw his picture he said something, but I don’t remember what it was. He then said that he sensed a great disturbance. I asked him about that. He said it’s something to do with the weather-like a rain storm and something bigger-planetary, and an earth quake coming.
I told him he’s very handsome. He said he’s part snow shoe or rag doll.
Since Tiki wanted to talk when I first saw his picture, and it was about the “great disturbance”, I asked him if there was anything else he’d liek to say about it. There wasn’t anything, but then he gave me the thought that it’s going to be a big deal. “Star Wars” also came to me.
Tiki also said he wanted to talk about his exploration. “Waterfall” and “River” came to me. “Small river”-like a stream also came to me. He showed me a visual of him dipping his paw in the water and drinking from it. He likes to do these things. He also likes the sound of running water. I had something to take care of then I came back and apologized. He said, “Let me tell you about the water,” and said it was okay I took care of what I took care of.
He said the water is sweet and soft and gentle. I asked him about the soft part. He said it slowly flows along his paw and is light weight on his paw. He also sent me an image of a fish bowl filled with water and an orange fish. Then the fish changed to or there was an additional fish that was a light silver color with black and orange dots. The second fish might have been my ego brain chiming in or a fish I had growing up chiming in.
Tiki sent me an image of a wooden dock and him walking on it, him sitting on the dock, him sitting on a boat and in it (maybe it was just me imagining). He also sent me a picture of a green hill and a wind mill. He said he loves birds. He said he loves to play and loves butterflies.
We closed the conversation. I asked him if he’d like to talk again. He said, “Sure.” I wished him a wonderful weekend. He said that maybe you’d relax. He just showed me an image of him walking away to get in bed and showed a visual of himself jumping into bed. He said he’s “nice and cozy”. I thanked him for talking with me. He thanked me for talking with him and I gave him a big hug. He purred.

I connected with Tiki again this morning. I kept seeing images of a horse and then dog and then back to a horse, as I was focusing in on Tiki with my eyes closed. Tiki was sitting before me very attentive. I asked why I was repeatedly seeing the horse throughout the connection with Tiki. “I am loyal friend to Tiki, strong, intelligent, his chariot, his champion.” On an emotional level I felt sadness from Tiki this morning and asked if he was mirroring. He said yes and I said that if any of this is from your human family that they would love to see you be happy and free of any of their stuff and that it is not your job and thank you. He said he thinks he is helping. I offered an alternative: help through being in your freedom and joy and create change in your field through law of attraction. And use the mirroring just on the spot as needed to help bring any needed reflection. He says “I like this.” I felt that I could see a difference in his eyes. The horse agreed with the focus on freedom. Well, as always, I’m sure some of my own stuff crept in, but this was a very interesting connection. I am always magnetized to Tiki.

Hi Martha, Tiki is very gentle and can be loving when he wants to be with my husband and I. That is when he is in the mood. On the other hand, he is always loving to all birds and they flock around him all the time as though he is just a gentle giant. Tiki enjoys the serenity of their presence. Funny you mentioned a butterfly as I once saw a butterfly land on his paw and he just watched it as it sat there.
He is an outdoor cat most of the time (by his own choice) and does seem to be hghly intuitive whenever there is rain or bad weather approaching. It is though he is preparing for his survival (even though he has a choice to come inside the house). He makes a bed out of leaves all over the yard so we never really know where We might see him sleeping next. Thank you so much for connecting with him.-

Sorry for not responding until now to your response. I didn’t know until now that you had responded. Thanks for the feedback. I’d love to see him with a butterfly on his paw and just letting the butterfly be there 🙂 How sweet! I love that!
Anyway, I was scrolling through the ATH pictures and Tiki wanted to talk again. Oh, also, I remember that there was an earthquake somewhere not long after I posted about him mentioning one coming.So, I asked Tiki what’s new. He said, “Not much. Livin’ life…a great life!”. “Lots of exploration.” He said he loves to explore. He said he loves to lie in the sun on the grass or on the ground or a wooden plank or wooden floor. He said he loves to smell the outside air. He also sent me an image of water tricking down from a water mill (I guess that’s what it’s called) or a spout.
He also said there’s a horse nearby who drinks the water.
He said he loves to watch fish outside and there’s a pond where he likes to do this. He said they’re coy fish.
He said he loves to play and loves soft stuff.
He said when he comes in the house he likes to be on the bed sometimes and sometimes with you and your husband.
He asked what happened to Chino and said he still talks to Chino. After that he said he knows what happened to Chino.
He said the upcoming move for my cats and me is going to be good for us.
He said he likes to “piddle around”. He said he also likes to knead Graham’s chest and for Graham sometimes to hold him for a little bit. Not too long though. He said a little affection goes a long way for him because of his inner wild kitty nature, but he still needs, wants, and enjoys affection.
He said in the mornings you have tea or coffee and I got an English muffin or bagel or toast with jam or jelly.
He said he likes warmth and the fire place, but I think the fire place was from another life.
He said he likes to get in trees sometimes and do his nails on trees. He said he also likes connecting with trees and feeling their energy.
I asked him what else. He said he’s sweet, sassy, and reserved. Then, I got a bit shy.
He said he’s going to go now and would like to talk another time. I told him I’d like that, too. I told him to have a wonderful day. He thanked me and wished me the same. I kissed him and petted him. I got “purr” and he rubbed me with his head. He said affection like this is nice and great. He said, “Talk to you soon/later.” I said the same. He said, “I’m going to take a nap.” I told him to have a great nap. He said, “Thanks,” and sent me an image of him curled up in a napping position napping.

Hi Angela, In response to your first post from you I meant to write that you were right about Tiki and treats. He hates any kind of cat treat (moist or dry). This last connection was very interesting. Tiki is the only animal we have at the moment, but he shared us for many years with our dog Chino (who is in spirit now).
I had a horse many years ago (Dusty) when I was growing up and we had a deep magical connection. Perhaps they have all come together to try and get through to me. I am going through a lot of changes in my life so far this year and have been experiencing lots of emotions. Thank you for helping Tiki so that he is able to be free from the challenges I am going through. He has been spending more time than usual with me lately and it has been bringing me more peace and clarity. It helps me get focused and to remember that life is a journey. -
Hi Martha, That is so lovely that Tiki wanted to talk and gave you assurance that your move will be good for all of you. Tiki has been spending a little bit more time inside the house now and the way he is with my husband Graham is just as you described. Tiki likes being in the room where we have a heater and there is a fireplace too. We don’t use it but it is in our living room near the heater.

Hey Jo,
I was scrolling through the Animal Teachers, and Tiki wanted to talk briefly because he wants me to give you a message. He said to tell you, “I miss her and Graham, but am okay here. There are lots of things for me to do and I am advancing (Soul) all the time and visit them a lot. Does she (you) know? I’m pretty sure she does, but I want to make sure because I love them so much and am taking care of them always because they took care of me. Let Jo know and Graham, too, that I know, and did while in my physical Tiki body, that they were doing/did all they possibly could. My Soul had simply completed it’s purpose in the body of Tiki. She can let go of the troubling grief/worries. Everything is all good and I will be back to them. Always and forever, Your Tiki Bud” -

This was interesting, I was shown colors, and not just shown, I felt them. But now with feelings, felt that they had different frequencies, or that’s not exactly right either. I got some kind of innerstanding from a memory, how all colors affect us differently and how we can use it to our benefits.

I’ve never tried to connect with an in-spirit animal before and I enjoyed connecting with Tiki. I told him how beautiful he was while in physical form and he said “If you thought I was beautiful then, you should see me now!” I got the impression of jumping frogs, rays of sunshine and sparkles and that he didn’t have words for me and I wouldn’t understand anyway, but these are the things that feel similar to the joyous and gorgeous being he is now.
I asked what he thought makes for a great life while in physical form on earth. He showed me a yard, the look and feel of sunshine, watching birds and squirrels, and taking in all the activity and beauty that is around. Not having annoying or mean dogs around also helps make for a great like. I got the impression of a small dog – like a Jack Russell Terrier that he didn’t like who maybe harassed him, and a golden lab maybe, that he did like and was a cool dog. His advice to me was to relax and notice more of nature – the types of things he showed me make a great life. Basically, be more like him, or as he was in physical form. This made me laugh. It felt like a joke – but also real advice, too.
Tiki is a generous spirit and it feels like he is getting more comfortable with people talking with him now that he understands he has valuable information to share.
Oh – I asked if there was a message to share with “Mom” and got a sense of big birds flying overhead, like “There are bigs birds here but I don’t need to chase them. I just watch.”
