ModeratorWe are glad you are interested in practicing talking together with an animal!
To get started, greet the animal and ask if they have time to talk with you. Remember that animals also lead busy lives even though we may not see all that they do. If they aren’t available, check back later.
Introduce yourself and explain why you are reaching out to them: that you are a member of the Animal Talk Coaching & Mastery Club and learning to better communicate with animals and would appreciate their help. You can ask them any questions you want. Typically they do provide a response. Please share your impressions of their personality, energy, how they feel and any insights they may share with you. By sharing what you get, the animal’s person can provide you with feedback and others can jump in too.
Use the Forum SEARCH field (located at the top of the right column above the picture of the Featured Animal Teacher) to find more discussions involving this animal (or other animals with the same name).
Some conversations have been lively, and we’ve learned some amazing insights, and laughed at jokes. Remember that this is a safe place to practice. This is about practice and learning, it is not about getting it perfect. The animals have much to teach us, to share with us and we with them.

Platinum MemberHi Klaudia,
I amntrying to be more consistent withd practicing amd wanted to talk with Benji.
He’s handsome! I told him as such, and when I asked if he’d be willing to chat, he sort of stretched and said sure.
I told him I’m having some mental blocks (monkey mind chatter) lately and asked for any advice. He told me to live in the present, practice, and don’t try to be perfect.
I asked if he had any advice pr messages for you, and I got, “Follow through; get it done.”
I was having difficulty focusing as my personal pets were trying to get me to let them outside, but I think I received that Benji was a feral cat, but he has been with you for a while. He still has access to come and go, but he doesn’t have the interest in being fully feral anymore. He’s strong, confident, and sweet, but he doesn’t take any shit.
I thanked him and ended the chat, but would be happy to try again if I am way off.
Thanks, Klaudia

Platinum MemberHi Erika
I am sure Benji enjoyed the chat with you. The picture is quite old, in the meantime Benji lost some weight but for his age he still looks good.
He gave you very good advice and from his side it’s not only talk, he is living it.
Also his message for me makes a lot of sense. I started decluttering the house and yard a few weeks ago. The yard is finished and in the house I need to do another 2 rooms. I need a push from someone every now and then to remember what I wanted to do before I got distracted.
Benji was born feral but joyned the cats I had brought from my flat, when I bought the house, at a very young age. He was just a few months old, about 4 or 5 months. Yes, he has been with me for a while, 16 years to be precise. He is actually the oldest one in my furry family.
I am not sure what exactly he told or showed you. He is coming and going between the house and the kennel. There is a cat/dog door in my utility room leading out to the kennel, a fenced in covered area with 2 floors. He has no access to the great outdoors, but you are right that he is not interested in being feral. Even when the door is wide open while I bring the shopping in he never even tries to get out.
You describe his character rather well. He is a calm and sweet boy. Usually he is quite relaxed, he won’t get into fights, but if someone tries to bully him he is well capable to stand up for himself.
If you are interested you may talk to him again and ask how he is feeling in his body. And you can try, if he tells you what happened to his tail a few months ago. You can also check what food he likes best … or anything else that comes to your mind.
Thanks for talking with Benji.
