We are glad you are interested in practicing talking together with an animal!
To get started, greet the animal and ask if they have time to talk with you. Remember that animals also lead busy lives even though we may not see all that they do. If they aren’t available, check back later.
Introduce yourself and explain why you are reaching out to them: that you are a member of the Animal Talk Coaching Club and learning to better communicate with animals and would appreciate their help. You can ask them any questions you want. Typically they do provide a response. Please share your impressions of their personality, energy, how they feel and any insights they may share with you. By sharing what you get, the animal’s person can provide you with feedback and others can jump in too.
Use the Forum SEARCH field (located at the top of the right column below the picture of the Featured Animal Teacher) to find more discussions involving this animal (or other animals with the same name).
Some conversations have been lively, and we’ve learned some amazing insights, and laughed at jokes. Remember that this is a safe place to practice. This is about practice and learning, it is not about getting it perfect. The animals have much to teach us, to share with us and we with them.

Hi Sean,
I would like to make a connection with Gary. So would you please tell me what his breed is?
Thank you-

Hi
Thank you for expressing interest in Gary. He is a crested gecko from New Caledonia.
Gary is rescued animal. I upgraded his cage and made a beautiful and comfy home for him.
He was with me for 6 months and after that local School for Deaf and Blind expressed interest to have Gary. The crested gecko is a harmless animal that doesn’t have teeth so it’s a safe companion for kids. I give them Gary and I never heard from them about how he is doing. I am still emotionally attached to him so I can’t really connect myself and talk to him. I would like to know how he is doing and I will be really grateful if you can help me with it.
Thanks and have a beautiful day.

Hi Sean,
Thank you for your reply
So here is what I got:Looking at the picture first:
Although he looks impressive, he is a funny, loving, nice and well behaved guy
Colour energy field: same as the one of his eyes, close to him
Emotions: kind of “wait and see” to protect him as he if he was very emotional
If I could touch him: dry and rough
If I could hear him: high-pitchedConnection:
When asking Gary for a connection with him
As a welcome he sent me a nice and warm energy wave all over my body
Told him that he is a very smart Crested Gecko and it was if as he knew it 🙂
He is ok in his body (but see what he shared with me at the end of our connection)
Gary is happy in his new environment but he misses you (tears came into my eyes)
Asked him that if you tried to connect with him if it was ok for him – answer “yes”
When asking him about his role I sensed “children”
Yes, he is fulfilling his purpose there but he misses you
Asked him whether he would like you to come and visit him, he preferred not
(As if it was too emotional for him?)
Although he misses you he is happy in his new life
He is doing fine in his hew job
He loves the children
Asking him whether he had anything to tell you, I got love and tears
Anything you could do for him, I got “leave it like that”
Anything Gary could do for you, I got “tell Sean I love him”
Anything I could do for him, I got “come back for a chat” which I promised of courseWhen I was ending our connection I got the feeling
that there was something on his mind he wanted to share before that
Here is what I got:
His tommy is upset, his digestion is difficult
His tommy is stiff, firm but is not hurting him
As if he had difficulties in pooping
It looks as if they were feeding him with the wrong food
When I asked him what he would like instead
He showed me outside flying insects
He would like special food for geckos instead of what they are giving to him
(Be cautious regarding the food I sensed, is it my own interpretation?)He doesn’t want to leave me, he is very happy talking 🙂
So I asked what else he would like to share
“Tell him I have a comfy and well kept home” (home = cage)
It was as if he showed me him dusting and hoovering his home (as we do)
So that it looks nice, tidy and comfortable
I couldn’t sense whether it was big, small, Gary was very evasive about that
Asked him what he has got in his home
He showed me toys and “obstacles” in French
In the dictionary for the French name “obstacles” it is written “hurdle, fence” among others
But I don’t know which one is appropriate?
He also showed an opening on the walls of his cage so that the children can touch him
He likes to be pettedThen all of a sudden he had to go to work and asked to end our conversation
So I ended it sending lots of love and big hugs
And telling him that you will be so happy to have these good news from himPS: I am still a beginner, not mastering this technique a 100% …

Dear Evelyne
Thank you very much for connecting with Gary. Honestly, if I know that I will miss this little boy so much I will never give him away. Gary is such a sweet little gecko. He is silly and playful like a little kid when alone but timid when he has company. So you are right about his personality.
You wrote: “If I could hear him: high-pitched” – Yes when I first time tried to connect with him I heard very clearly a kid’s voice in my head. To be sure this is his voice I asked him to poop in his water pot, which he never did before. The next morning I discovered poop in his water pot. After that, he was doing it every time, and I loved it( easy to clean and reminds me of our first conversation) I still don’t believe I give him away!
“He loves the children” – probably because he is like a two-year-old kid.
Anything Gary could do for you, I got “tell Sean I love him” – I know it, we have an emotional connection, and this is why is so hard for me.
“Tell him I have a comfy and well-kept home” (home = cage) I downloaded pictures of his cage and him inside the cage. When I transferred him from a small and very basic cage to this big one with a lot of toys and a big swimming pool he started running around the new cage pushing reptile barks on the ground in pure joy and happiness.
“He would like special food for the geckos instead of what they are giving to him”
Can be very easy that kids are giving Gary everything they have in their hands.
Gary always loves to eat, normal geckos eat Pangea or Rapashi food every third day
but Gary eats every day/night, so I put some gecko food in his cage every night just for him to find something.
I can thank you enough for connecting with Gary. It’s a big relief for me to know he is alive and happy with the kids. Your reading was very accurate and you are good with that. I am still processing everything in my heart.

Hi Sean,
I admire your courage and great generosity towards children in need in accepting to give Gary away to them. I can imagine the happy smiles on their face thanks to Gary. It seems to me it is like when our children leave home, we are sad but happy at the same time knowing they are fulfilling their purpose and are happy in their new life (even if we are still missing them).
Rescued pets are special, they are never forgetting us and are so thankful for what we did for them. Now it’s Gary’s turn to “rescue” – but children this time. They do love Gary very much as well I think and are thankful for his loving interaction with them.
I am also impressed by his *****cage! Superb
I have seen that you have posted the picture of another pet. Is it also a Gecko? The information you have given on Geckos was very interesting to me. I have never had the possibility of knowing one in real. But as you describe Gary, Geckos are really cute pets.
It has been so great reading your reply, thank you very much.

Yes, geckos are really cute pets. If you like to deal with “two years old kids born in the circus” then geckos from New Caledonia are pets for you. The second one that I presently have is gargoyle geck also from New Caledonia her name is Coco. They got the name gargoyle because looks like they have horns on the top of the head but they don’t. this is just the shape of the head. They are a little bit different and every gecko has his/her own personality.
People especially gecko breeders think that geckos never build bound with their owners and have only an interest in the food, and they make videos on YouTube about it. Well my experience with them ( I come across 3 different ones) is completely opposite – thanks to Val of course. One time I asked Gary what he liked most in our apartment. I literally fell from the chair when he told me:” these things that you listen to early at night” – My spiritual tapes!!! Every night I am listening spiritual tapes before I fall asleep.
Well whoever thinks that geckos don’t know anything, think again!
Thanks again for your kind reply.-
