Platinum MemberThe first time I (recall) communicating with an animal was when I was 16 or 17. I was very close to my cat. I also attended a private all girls boarding school in Pennsylvania away from my cat who lived in New Mexico.
Starting my sophomore year at boarding school, I started questioning going to the school and was feeling guided to be at home. I left the boarding school in June of my sophomore year and was at home with my cat and started going to school at the local high school in New Mexico in August.
My cat broke her leg which turned out, I feel, to be kidney related. In October I sent her Soul onto its next journey due to kidney issues.
I feel that during my sophomore year she was communicating with me about passing on soon and for me to come so we could be together and so I could be with her at the passing on moment.
I am endlessly and infinitely grateful for eternity that I decided to go home for my junior year while not consciously knowing she was communicating with me. -

Platinum MemberThe very first time I knew without a doubt an animal understood me was when I was a teenager. We had an indoor/outdoor cat. Cozy had come into the kitchen where a bunch of us were hanging out together. He was so dirty looking, he looked like an alley cat. I said “You are filthy and you look like an alley cat”. Cozy walked over to me as if he was looking for affection and turned and peed on my leg and walked away! I guess I deserved that.
Another animal that made it so clear that we communicated with each other was my horse, Jack. I got Jack when I was 40 years old. I trusted Jack but was afraid to go into the mix of the herd to brink him to my shed. I would turn the corner and yell out the window “Jack, Jack” and he would cut from the herd and run to the gate. On other occasions he would be in the middle of the herd right next to a gate but I was afraid to go get him. I would ask him to go to a different gate a good distance away from the other horses. He would first look at me as if I were lame, but he would always help me out and come to the other gate for me.

Platinum MemberThe first time I remember communicating with an animal was on a farm we rented. I was working for the large animal vet and a farmer gave me a beef cow to thank me for saving his calves that could not stand up. A quick jab with a needle and they were all up in no time. That farm was next door to mine. I had no other cows. It could see the herd and wanted to join its fellow cows. My goats came to the house and on to the veranda making lots of noise. I asked them what was wrong and they indicated I was to follow them. They took me to the cow that was stuck in the fence trying to get to the herd. I opened a gate near by and let her in with the rest of the cows. I thanked the goats for coming to get me.

Silver MemberWhen I was about 8 years old, I was drawn to the far back woods behind our house. The brush was very thick and full of prickers but I just knew I had to go right into it despite getting cut. Deep within the tangle of branches was a little white dog. Her leash was wrapped around branches trapping her. I was able to free her and reunite her with her family.
