Change a Traumatized, Nervous Dog Into a Confident Dog with Communication

nervous dog

Can you change a traumatized, abused, nervous dog into a confident, happy dog through animal communication?

Picture yourself strolling through a beautiful day, and you catch a glimpse of an animal, a fish, a bird, or even your beloved pet seeking your attention from outside a window.

In that moment, a profound connection is forged as you exchange warm greetings, and before you realize it, you’re engaged in a captivating conversation.

You effortlessly comprehend their wisdom, feel their love, and engage in meaningful dialogues about their unique perspectives on life, relationships, well-being, and so much more.

When you are fully conscious, connected heart to heart, and in tune with your intuitive faculties, you gain the ability to acknowledge, honor, and hold animals in the highest esteem for who they truly are.

You’ll come to understand that they are like angels, guiding lights, sources of healing and wisdom, companions of the soul, and guardians temporarily entrusted to us by a higher power.

All of this becomes attainable once you acquire the knowledge and skills to make it happen.

In essence, this journey is a spiritual endeavor aimed at healing, personal growth, and evolution into your best self.

Together, we contribute to making the world a better place for all living beings.

I got 2 great questions from animal communication students.

I answered the one about “can other animals jump into your conversation” here: communicating with more than one animals at a time.

The second question for today was from Kim:

“l have a small 3 yrs old dog who is very nervous of everything, barks at every little sound. She was attacked at 5 months old by another dog which changed her personality from a friendly puppy to a very nervous dog. If I can communicate with her could l help to change her into a confident dog?”

Before I answer, did you know our Live Q&A Coaching Calls are scheduled for the second Saturday of each month?

Because if YOU have questions you’d like me to answer, but you aren’t an Animal Talk Coaching & Mastery Club member yet, now’s a great time to join us!

And now back to the original question:

Can I change a nervous traumatized dog into a confident dog through animal communication?

Yes you can, but you have to know what you’re doing as an animal communicator, otherwise you can make things worse.

This requires more advanced communication (and healing) training and competence.

Here’s how to begin changing your pet’s behavior once you’re connected properly, heart to heart, mind to mind, sharing love energy.

Invite them to tell you their story and just listen as a compassionate, caring, loving person.

You are a LISTENER only, not a “hey let me tell you what I think and feel” as you tramp all over their tender, vulnerable wounds and override their feelings and thoughts with your own, or translate and misinterpret their story through the filter of your own wounds…

This is harder than you may think if you’ve also been traumatized, abused, or attacked, feel nervous or skittish yourself, and haven’t done your inner healing work yet.

That would mean your pet’s fears and experience(s) will likely trigger your own.

Ultimately that’s a good thing to have happen, because then you can both work on your healing together.

Your job is to create a safe space for them to feel heard, respected and understood.

When they’ve finished telling you what happened and how they feel, and what they want or need, you’ll notice them take a big breath and relax (but only if you’ve done your job as a safe listener and have guided the conversation properly so far).

If they’re more agitated and upset, fearful or worried?

You either haven’t done a good job of it yet, so get your “stuff” out of the way.

Or you’ve missed something that they need to say, so keep listening.

Next, it’s time to shift gears, offer healing, discuss changing their behavior to be more confident, and why that’s important.

One of the things you can do is offer Ho’oponopono Hawaiian healing prayer for traumatized pets (taught in the advanced course and masterclasses in The Heart School and Animal Talk Coaching & Mastery Club).

You can also try offering tapping, aka Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT for pets, also taught in the masterclasses).

You can gently and lovingly tell them: that was then, this is now, it’s okay to let the pain of what happened when you were just 5 months old go. You’re safe.

Even better, use my personal favorite animal talk healing technique I call REM PTSD Healing.

Incredibly powerful, it works in just a few minutes for people and pets, once you know how to do it.

Teaching you how to do that in this post is beyond what we can do today, but if you want to learn how it’s taught in a Heart Wisdom Masterclass. (REM refers to “Rapid Eye Movement”)

Through the art of asking the right questions in the right way and timing, continue to help them find ways to be more confident and sure of themselves, to know what to do to avoid being attacked again, and why not behaving as a fearful, nervous doggie is important.

When I solve problems like this with pets, we also communicate about best and worst case scenarios, why the nervous behavior is a problem, how the dog’s over reactive behavior can attract the very thing they’re most afraid of. (Again, an advanced skill taught in the advanced course and going into much more depth in the Masterclasses). 😊

Often the pet’s person must be willing to change their behavior, feeling and thoughts too, otherwise they unwittingly are contributing to the dogs nervousness and fear based reactions.

And that will get you started and will take you a long way in helping your little fur baby feel better, become more confident and balanced, less reactive and so much happier.

And if baby is happy, momma and daddy are happy too, right?

In the process, you’ll become a better, more confident, competent communicator.

Use what you know now and investigate, explore, observe and discover how it feels when you communicate with one animal at a time. Then shift to include another animal too and notice what’s different.

Give yourself permission and give it a go, or you’ll never know what you can or cannot do, or how it feels.

If nothing changes or you get confused or off track, then you’re missing something.

How can you improve to become a better animal communicator?

Keep practicing with animals you don’t know so you can get the proper feedback to be more confident and accurate. We offer a wide variety of animal teachers and their caretakers to help you with this in the Club.

Get expert guidance and coaching when you need it to fine tune and grow your abilities.

Discover what you’re missing, and avoid making mistakes, learning from your “failures”.

Do your inner healing so you don’t misinterpret their messages through the filter of your own wounds.

Celebrate and get excited when you discover how easy it is to communicate when you stop blocking yourself.

My goal is for my students to be incredibly well trained so you can be AMAZING, proficient, confident, and capable of handling anything that comes your way, using expanded abilities and experiences for the best possible results, for the rest of your life.
