We are glad you are interested in practicing talking together with an animal!
To get started, greet the animal and ask if they have time to talk with you. Remember that animals also lead busy lives even though we may not see all that they do. If they aren’t available, check back later.
Introduce yourself and explain why you are reaching out to them: that you are a member of the Animal Talk Coaching Club and learning to better communicate with animals and would appreciate their help. You can ask them any questions you want. Typically they do provide a response. Please share your impressions of their personality, energy, how they feel and any insights they may share with you. By sharing what you get, the animal’s person can provide you with feedback and others can jump in too.
Use the Forum SEARCH field (located at the top of the right column above the picture of the Featured Animal Teacher) to find more discussions involving this animal (or other animals with the same name).
Some conversations have been lively, and we’ve learned some amazing insights, and laughed at jokes. Remember that this is a safe place to practice. This is about practice and learning, it is not about getting it perfect. The animals have much to teach us, to share with us and we with them.

I connected with Lucy briefly. I nterrupted her in the middle of playing, I think. She was jumping around and flipping her mane about. But she stopped when she felt me. I asked if she was busy, could she talk to me for a bit, and she said yes she could. She seemed really warm and motherly. She came in really strongly, and I felt like she was right beside me. Then I seemed to lose touch with her, and it was kind of off and on. But at one point I told her I liked her purple coat. She said she did too. And she said that Alicia knows that she likes it. Then I said thank you, and ended the session. She told me to come back again, I said I would.

I connected with Lucy again. I have been trying to just feel animals, and it felt very nice doing that with Lucy. I became very much aware of how the left side of my face felt, and eventually the cheek bone area. I like Lucy so much and felt a yearning to meet her (some day). Also, I felt like I was laying the side of my face against hers and just feeling her. It was very nice.
Oh yes, it felt like she told me I should get to know horses better (“like your mother did”). She mentioned my mother who grew up on a ranch in the sand hills of Nevada and of course, rode. My mother loved animals a lot, including horses of course.

Hi Karen, sorry it’s taken me so long to reply but the site doesn’t let me know someone has posted so I put what I post on the persons wall.
I love what you felt from Lucy. She is very loving and nurturing and she has a baby named Star who is 4 months old. It’s possible that when she was busy she was with Star even though Star is very independent and is away from Lucy often in the pasture. I really hope you connect with her again. Lucy loves teaching others and helping us with our animal communication. -

Hi Alicia,
As I was scrolling through the animal teachers pictures and saw Lucy’s, she said, ‘Baby, baby.” It seemed like she wanted to talk about her baby.
Lucy told me she had a baby. I said, “I know! Congratulations!”
She said she (her baby) is a handful just like she (Lucy) and Tina were as babies. She said her baby (StarCloud) reminds her of Tina and herself when they were babies.
She said that even though she enjoyed being pregnant and connecting with her baby (StarCloud) and being so close to her and getting to know her, she is glad to no longer be pregnant. She said it takes up too much room!
She sent me an image of a baby horse jumping happily in the air and clicking her hooves together and she does it. It’s so cute and I told Lucy that.
Lucy sent me an image of the two of them walking along side by side together in green grass and said, “as we eat”.
She said she’s very protective over StarCloud. She said she gets onto Tina sometimes when she plays too rough with StarCloud and has to tell Tina she’s a baby.
She said StarCloud is getting really big but will also be a little small for a horse. She sent me an image of her smiling.
She said, “That’s all for now” and that she heard you coming and before that something about baked goods. It’s 4:27 pm PST right now.
I said, “Well, thank you for talking to me.” She said, “You’re welcome. Got a carrot?” I chuckled to myself and smiled and gave her a carrot. She thanked me. I told her she’s welcome. I petted her head and gave her a kiss. She smiled. -

I connected with Lucy and felt like she was used for racing or pulling a cart. She is a pacer. I feel like she lives where it gets cold but there isn’t alot of snow. She’s feel like she’s had a good life and gets lots of attention. She expressed she would like more opportunities to be out on pasture and move freely. She is fed well and gets grain and either mineral or a vitamin supplement that she really likes. I feel she is rarely saddled but feels trail riding might be fun.Does she sometimes get a Jolly Ball to play with? Her primary trainer/ caretaker is a female late 30s to 40s, as I feel she is boarded. I asked about any past problems and I just heard,” foot.” I feel this might have been very mild and something as simple as a rock in her hoof.

Hi Laura, I have been out of town.
Lucy was trained as a cutting horse. We live across from the Forrest and she loves trail rides. She hasn’t been rode a lot lately because she has a 5 month old baby. You’re right that she loves her supplements. I am her main caretaker
and she stays in the pasture and only comes to the barn for inclement weather.
You are right about the rock in her hoof. I keep pads on her feet because she doesn’t do well with walking on rocky surfaces. Another horse we have plays with a ball. I will have to get one for Lucy and the baby. Lucy has been stabled in the past but has been at our property for 9 months. She prefers the pasture to being in a stall. Thanks for communicating with Lucy. -

Hi Martha, I love your conversation with Lucy. She is right that star is a handful just like she and Tina were and still are at times. Star tries to argue with Katey and Tina like she is their size. It really funny to see. Star will be smaller than Lucy and Tina. We moved onto the property and are staying in a travel trailer while the house is being built. Some challenges there but I am so happy to be able to see them and be with them all the time again. Tina continues to be very jealous of star and Lucy. I rode Lucy and ponied star in the Forrest for a short ride and Tina was upset with me for 2 days. They are just like human children with their drama at times but I love them so much. Thank you for checking in on Lucy.
